Sort of a "do it yourself" FAQ section

I like it.

Here''s two...on Princesses...and AGS certificates.

Chrono reminded me of how to find this first one by showing up recently...

a) Princesses simply maybe they can. If you know what basic principles to apply....


Also...AGS certificates keep changing...and you can be challenged to keep up with them. Our current FAQ section takes them only so far. These help to bring them forward...

I found this to be a great thread. This person plugged the certificate numbers into the HCA and then looked at the stones w/the Idealscope and compared the numbers of the HCA to what they saw in the Ideal scope.

Speaking of helpful threads, is there a thread somewhere in the forums that I''m totally overlooking with picture-taking hints? It''s difficult capturing diamonds and it would be so helpful to us newbies to have camera hints all in one place.

I''ve done searches on Pricescope for picture taking hints, handshot hints, etc. and haven''t found anything relevant yet. I did run across a post on resizing pics, but I''m not quite at that point yet.

Has this conversation about contextualizing the value of a flawless diamond occurred before? (It''s happening as I write this!) Maybe, but I haven''t seen it before.

Although there may be a historical basis for valuing the old AGS triple zero...the smart guys on Pricescope have given the meaning of a "perfect" clarity grade a run for their money, I''d say.

OK, one...no...make that two more threads...but BOTH are about trying to ask the question of...how do you put the whole buying process together.

On the one hand...(and both of these solutions are offered by Denver Appraiser/Neil, bless his heart...and for this first one...he''s really the best person on this board to go to for advice to make this work)...most recently....it''s finally been reviewed to my satisfaction that there is no safe harbor, regardless...so for those who would like to be anal, thorough, safe, and protected in the buying process...since even in going to just one vendor who seems to have what you want, since even HE can damage the goods while trying to get it to you...best to a) engage an appraiser at the outset, b) get it insured uniquely in year one at least with Jeweler''s Mutual, and only then c) understand that even if your own jeweler messes it up, you''re https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/question-for-professional-jewelers.103273/.

Or...also, courtesy of Neil, embedded in a longer post I initiated...of trying to jimmy the system...we''re reminded (in his second post in this thread) that we could also just take a simpler approach, follow these simple instructions:

3) Buy it."
