dreamer - really, with well-cut diamonds of any size it''s hard to go wrong

0.4 sides would look fabulously blingy - definitely more finger coverage than 0.25s!

It is remarkable difficult to find three stone rings with large centers, but I suppose I will have to just hunt around!

Has anyone noticed that you changed your ring?

slg - thank you! I use an old canon SD790(IS). I tried various olympus/nikon/sony models, then gave in and bought a powershot and I'm finally happy with it. It's decent - the macro mode is very good if you can hold relatively still, the controls are easy to manipulate and generally the stuff you actually want is easy to access (no digging through five menus), the battery life is fantastic. It has its cons, which I'm led to understand are characteristic of the elph line - "auto" mode is a disaster waiting to happen, I wish the thing had a true manual mode, even after adjusting to a grey card it's prone to overblue (you can see this in pretty much all my pics), distortion at the corners (crop, baby!). No viewfinder, which can be a PITA, and there are a ton of extra shooting modes - ebay, cloudy, kids, aliens, you name it - that I won't touch with a bargepole. It's a good all-round P&S for a casual user like me, esp. for the price, and I've gotten some real stunners out of it so I don't have camera envy at the moment.. I don't know how newer models fare.

Wow! What a work of art!

The look of the unplated white gold reminds me of the ancient alloy electrum (1/2 gold 1/2 silver). The color is so soft and beautiful and the sidestone proportions are quite harmonious.

Thanks yssie! That''s one of my favs too, but I didn''t take that one. My photographer friend did, with a small canon and a macro lens that gave him the ability to almost touch the diamond and still have it be in focus. I''m still saving up for a nice macro lens myself...and then figure out how to take pics like that, of course!
