#JOTW Yssie's new ring is HERE!!!! 2.7 three-stone in unplated wg

This pic shows the colour I see very well:


-Three-stone and the plain band under it are both unplated 18k Ni-wg, slightly different alloys as the band is a little more steely
-DBTY is 14k yg
-Plain band in top L. corner is sterling
-Baby bezels are plat.
-8-prong martinis are plated 14k wg

The eye really can get used to anything

it''s a shock to the system when I pull out my studs, the centre looks so much bigger with the comparison!


Sidestones are 0.1mm bigger than the studs.. 8prongs sure add SIZE, baby!

christie - I'm loving it with the plain band (though technically I can't wear the band for another three months..) the ring is 2.3mm wide, the band is a 2mm comfort fit from e-weddingbands, which is a bit thicker than their regular band so the heights off the finger of both rings match nicely. I think they go really well together - the band tucks in underneath and I love that it's so simple and understated. They're both unplated 18k Ni-wg but the alloys are slightly different and it's visible.. I'm debating how much I want to obsess over that. If I can't get over it we'll have WF make a band, but they're so much pricier I'm hoping we don't need to!

Gorgeous! I really love how much thought you put into the metal, which looks lovely. The proportions and the heights of the stones are set just right so that the sides flatter the middle stone, rather than turning it all into one big blob. Really nice.

Melz - haha lots of thought, and lots of trial and error! I had plated wg first, didn't like it, went to plat, disliked it even more, I know I don't like yg or rg as they're just too brightly coloured for me, so I didn't have all that many options left to try out

I was going for a very specific "look" and the unplated gold is perfect for that

EHR - Thank you! The sentimentalist in me is emerging, and I think I'll be doing as you are - never polishing the wb, but keeping the Ering nice and shiny

Love your comparison shots of the metal. It really shows the differences nicely - as I find it's not so apparent "on its own". It is very lovely! I was curious how different it would look against my 18k with palladium alloy now - want to send me your ring so I can take some pics (ha ha).
