I love your ring! It's nice to see the center stone as the main attraction and what a stone! It's gorgeous! The yummy yellow gold really compliments the deep purple. Wow.

Well it took me years to set it but here it is:

2.28ct purple garnet from Jeff White.

That is one beautiful ring. Super nice. A simple classic.

Thank you Suzanne2! Her setting was exactly what I wanted for this stone! I was hoping it would be simple and elegant. It’s actually set in 14k rose gold but the light did make it appear yellowish. I think yellow gold would have looked beautiful too but I really wanted something in rose gold!

You should absolutely go for it! These are quite affordable. I just bought another one- 5 mm only but I just love he grape colour!

I’m so glad I found this beautiful thread! I had been looking for a fun larger red garnet for a ring project, since a big heart ruby just isn’t in my budget. I accidentally stumbled upon a Mozambique purple garnet at a ridiculously good price. And purple is my favorite color, I snapped it up!
7.55 x 7.41 x 4.53mm
1.82 carats

Here’s a screen shot of a video of it. It’s very purple! But flashes Fuscia. I’m going to attempt pictures soon. So far I can’t seem to capture how beautiful it is.

Thanks to @gingercurls , I have finally joined the Jeff White Purple garnet club! As someone who loves both Jeff's work and purple garnets, it's something I've long wanted to add to my collection since seeing others post them here.

Admittedly, it's a bit more moody/darker than my other purple garnets but also larger.
