Hi PS Friends,
I'm exploring the avenue of halos and learning that the look is slowly growing on me. Can someone help me understand the difference between these two rings? The one on the left is a beautiful ring by Nikolaud who has a cathedral Emiliya with VC's cut of antique cushion. The one on the right is from Grace's website and from the pictures looks like she sourced the stone. I'm just trying to understand the differences that I believe my eye sees, after disregarding the size of the stone and can't quite understand.
1. The ring on the right seems to have chunkier facets and rounder but the one on the left is more rectangular and perhaps more brilliance which is what I believe is how VC distinguishes his stones per Nikolaud's thread. Are these both under the category of "antique cushions" but it just has different facets and different shapes?
2. The ring on the right has the halo that seems to just gently support the stone while the one on the left is not as flush and protrudes a bit more. Is this just based on how the stone is set and this is a preference? The one on the right has a lower setting where the cutlet might be touching the donut and the right (can't tell from the picture) might have more of a gap between the cutlet?
Thanks in advance!
