PrincessD - great idea.

A word of advice for those seeking a recut:

If you prefer a paticular brand - then seek out that brand.

If you simply want a better looking diamond but dont care if it is H&A''s or some other ''mind'' cut quality, then find one of our good appraisers to supervise your recut.

From the perspective of many ''branded cut'' proprietors, if asked to do the job, they should meet their own standards - or they will be judged harshly here on this board.
When they do this for themselves, either from a piece of rough, or recutting a existing stone, they will often avoid material that takes them below a critical magic weight.

If you commision them, and they know they are being judged here - they may have no option but to reduce the value of your diamond in order to maintain their brand perception and values.
