Rod, guys with good taste like you are always welcome to give input!
Stone Hunter, if I got a Ritani, I''d get a Ritani band and they are set very low which would allow the whole head of the diamond to show. My original band is yg, so I am not using it with the new ring.
WHAT???!!! Oh my gosh!!! I NEED to talk to DeeJay! It would help me SO much to see that one and there are a couple of others that I''d at least like to see a handshot of...especially with a band. Do you have her email address?Date: 8/16/2006 4:02:21 PM

hey DS, dee jay is visiting Pearlmans tomorrow in person. you should have her take some handshot pictures of that Ritani for you, with and without the wedding band...

#1 Ritani, love it
#2 Lockes something special about that setting
#3 Vatche
I know it''s a tough choice, but they are all gorgeous!!!
Lynn, your settings are some of my very favorites on here, and if I had found my stone at WF, I''d probably just order a copy of yours in 2.5mm! But I decided the custom route was just too nervewracking, so I eliminated that option!Date: 8/16/2006 4:54:51 PM

OK, personally, the first one you posted is my least favorite (even imagining it with the diamond set low)... and the Lockes is (by a landslide!) my favorite. Gosh I ADORE that setting -- even more every day!
I know it''s insanely hard to choose... so think about these things. Do you prefer 4 prongs or 6? What about ''cathedral'' style vs. regular (non-cathedral)? Once you identify your favorite ''style'', narrowing it down may be a little easier. Well, I said ''may''-- I know it''s NEVER easy!!!![]()

I have shown him several. Any of these he would like. He did not like the more ornate Tacori and Scott Kay settings. I definitely ran them by him just to eliminate something! But he''d of course want me to have whatever I wanted.Date: 8/16/2006 6:06:14 PM

DS does your husband have a favorite or is he leaving it entirely up to you? When I was looking at rings I didn''t think my hubby would have a preference, but when he saw the rings I had looked at in the jewelry store he quickly eliminated the ones he didn''t like.
I'm glad you said this, because I know exactly what you mean. When I ask for opinions, I sometimes feel like people don't like giving their opinions for that reason, but I too like to hear the comments etc., especially when I'm undecided about them. So if I'm not too late, I'll throw in my two cents.Date: 8/16/2006 12:55:08 PM

I realize no one can decide for me, but if you have preferences among these, I'd be interested to hear.
I hear you DS, my husband got a Mercedes roadster convertible last year. Enough said.Date: 8/16/2006 6:24:04 PM

So he now asks me to come to his computer to look at listings for Porsche Boxters (used, not brand new, thankfully). I''m about as interested in that as he is in looking at diamonds! I think that car is beautiful (for a car), but it''s not something that really interests me. But since I''m getting a nice anniversary present, he should get one, too, I suppose. But I just don''t ask him to look at too many settings because I don''t want to have to look at too many cars!![]()

Ditto to this. Every time I look at my Stuller Solstice, I wonder if I should have gone with a designer setting. The problem with me was that I wanted the perfect bezel setting, but didn''t find what I wanted in a bezel so I went cheap. Now I am toying with resetting the stone, but am feeling strangely sentimental about this setting.Date: 8/16/2006 1:15:02 PM

i realize that they all look pretty much the same from a distance but you will be looking at it daily up close.
