Speaking of testing for Covid 19...Have you been tested?

I’m so upset. My son lied to me that he called and he was negative. He didn’t think he had it and was concerned I was worried. He called them for the results..He does have Covid.

I'm so sorry @MamaBee, from his symptoms it sounds like he has a fairly mild case so try to hang in there. I know how upset you must be and I'm sending lots of support and many hugs.

My "Like" is a show of concern. As a Mom, I know this is very upsetting. I wish him a mild case and a speedy recovery.

Thank you...I understand @tyty333 I appreciate it. I think the same thing when I like a post. I just want the person to know I read it. We need a sympathy emoji.

Oh no @MamaBee, I’m so sorry to read this, everything crossed he’ll be OK.

Oh no :( I hope he recovers well and soon with no extra issues!

As for thread topic none of us have gotten tested yet. But as of this morning my husband is going to try and go this afternoon because he has been complaining of feeling bad for the last few days and his 102 temperature has him concerned. Guess we will find out. I don't think it is COVID but it will be good to rule it out anyway and if I am wrong well then we know that too. Too bad we live in such a teeny apartment. There's literally nowhere to go to get away if he does somehow have it.

Tested but currently negative @MamaBee Sorry to hear that your kid has it. seriouly hoping it will be very uneventful for him.

My son is being tested today. He went to an "underground" concert in Lake Tahoe this past weekend and is now freaking out as many of the people in attendance have COVID. How stupid can you be? I am glad he doesn't live in my home. Praying that he's okay as he did assure me that he wore a mask and sanitized and social distance. I'm baffled.

Thank you @MeowMeow @Arcadian @Austina I‘m mad and scared at the same time. He’s been going to Walmart, Wawa, and Giant daily just to get out of the house. He wore a mask and sanitized his hands. He thought that would be enough. Fortunately, he had a mild case. He’s running a low grade fever..down from 102.5...He feels like someone beat him up..sleeps all day...He’s breathing fine..no breathlessness. He thinks he’s beating it and getting better. I’ve been pleading with him to stay home...I told him that just because his symptoms are mild..it doesn’t mean that the person or persons he passes it to will have a mild case.

I hope he will be okay @Queenie60

Thank you @missy. My husband said he could drop off supplies and leave it on the stairs outside his house...He said he’s not hungry.

Oh, MamaBee, I'm so sorry. We've been through it in our house, so I know how you feel. First of all, the odds are he will be completely fine. Second, if you have or can get a fingertip oxygen monitor, please do, and have him use it.

We were told that some doctors are theorising one of the reasons people become so ill is that for some unknown reason, they don't feel feel the oxygen deprivation with Covid the way we ordinarily would, so by the time they notice they're having trouble breathing, it's already quite advanced. We were advised to use the oxygen monitor and call our doctor if it dipped below normal at all (which it didn't).

Sorry I can't be more help. Big hugs and good thoughts.

Fingers crossed he doesn't. If it's any comfort, I literally spent half the night before we figured out what my husband had thinking, my God, I wish he'd stop with the coughing, and still didn't get it.

Good thoughts to your son, Queenie. Hopefully he doesn't have it (and learned his lesson).

@MamaBee I am sorry, you must be angry and worried all at the same time!
@Queenie60 I am sorry you have worries too!

Thats good. Im glad you didn't get it! Whatever my husband has my 2 year old has too. I got her up after my post about my husband and she has had a 101 degree fever. I've given Tylenol already but its not lowering yet. Luckily she doesn't seem super effected. She's still jabbering and playing actively. It's quiet time now though so I'm hoping she can nap. Going to just have to keep an eye on her. My husband says they probably won't see her anyway unless it gets to 103 or higher so I'm keeping her with me.

Thank you @jaaron I’m happy you guys are okay now..What is the number that would signal a problem? i know mine is usually 98-99 but I don’t know what a low one would be. I have one I can give him tomorrow.

@Niffler75 Thank you...That’s exactly how I feel..

@MeowMeow I hope your hubby doesn’t have it..

This sounds so stressful for you! I hope he stays home so he can get well again. :( take good care of yourself right now too!

And thank you I hope he doesn't have it too. Hopefully we will hear back soon. He just finished at the doctors.

I just ordered a whole bunch of things for my son from Instacart. I’ll deliver it to him tomorrow. I told him I would leave the bags on the bottom steps of his house. I also told him not to open the door until I was standing next to my car. I’m at a vulnerable age so it’s pretty scary for me to even do this...I have to because he doesn't have any food...I don’t want the Instacart person to deliver it because I’m afraid my son may not think and open the door.

I think under 90 is considered low, but that will vary with age, fitness level, etc. It might be worth it to just give your doctor a call and see what they advise. I found it very comforting to know that was staying in range.

Thank you @jaaron He’s an adult so he doesn’t live with me. He said they tested his oxygen level with one when he got his physical the week before. I think that’s where he got it..

I’m so sorry @MamaBee . Sending lots of get well dust his way and hoping he is better quickly. Please keep in mind most of us aren’t hungry when we get any type of flu. It’s good that your husband is going to drop off food for him. Hang in there. Please know you have lots of support here.

Sending dust for a negative test for your son @Queenie60 .

My son has Covid and is really nervous he is sleeping too much. He’s afraid he won’t wake up. I told him to call the doctor in the morning. His breathing is fine. Does this sound like normal for having Covid? He says he can’t stay awake for long.

Yes, absolutely - 100% normal. And it lasts for quite a while. Even two weeks in, my H would wake up thinking he felt a bit better and then collapse back into bed after an hour or two. Everyone we know who has had it has said that the fatigue is almost impossible to describe.

His body needs rest, so please don't worry about that. Has his fever gone down? That seems to vary from person to person. My H had hardly any fever, just one day of around 100, but we also know people who had raging fevers for almost two weeks without any serious outcome.

ETA - I read somewhere that in the hospital, they are putting Covid patients on their stomachs instead of prone on their backs as it seems to help their lungs stay clearer. I know it's silly to extrapolate from that, but is he a stomach sleeper by any chance? Might not be a bad thing to try

Chris’ oxygen level is 78. I sent my husband over to give him an oximeter I bought just in case we needed it. He needs supplemental oxygen but he won’t go to the hospital. I’m so scared for him..Please say prayers for him if you pray.

Prayers sent. I'd imagine this has been a terrible night for you. Hopefully he went to the hospital. I'm so sorry he's so sick.

Oh no I am so sorry @MamaBee! I am keeping Chris in my prayers and hoping he is doing much better now. Continued prayers and healing dust being sent his way. (((HUGS))).
