Show me your turquoise jewelry!

no
you are too modest
i just love it
but as wonderful as the stone is it needed you to highlight its great beauty
as well as being very talented you have a great eye and vision

Thank you so much Daisy! ❤️
I appreciate your kind words.

I made this pendant last Saturday afternoon. I bought the stone from a vendor at my local gem/ mineral show.

It's Persian turquoise with pyrite inclusions, 38 cts. Sterling silver.
The third photo shows the most accurate color of the turquoise.

Absolutely stunning! Everything you make I keep thinking "wow, that's my favorite!" so I guess I just love them all. @Autumn in New England I'll be fighting you for that first spot in line.

@stracci2000 I love your new pieces. I also like working with my hands and I love art and design. I have painted and done various paper arts and pottery in the past. At this phase in life I still dont feel like I have the energy to really indulge but as my kids are getting older and more independent I can see things opening up and I envision a vet near future where I too could learn this skill. I think I am going to begin with learning to string pearls and beads though. It’s in the to do list for the next year.

I did some minimal silverwork, nothing like Stracci's of course, but found it a bit stressful because it felt like you couldn't come back easily from some kinds of mistakes. Whereas stringing pearls and beads is almost completely non-destructive. Worst case you don't like it and you just try again! Even expensive pearls are non-stressful for me at least.

Those stones are made from turquoise chunks compressed with a copper colored matrix. An assembled stone.
They are really pretty, but not naturally occurring.
I would use two-part epoxy to glue them into the belt.
This will be very chic!

I made a ring to match the pendant shown in post #639.
There were 2 Persian cabs that I bought from the vendor.
This material is really beautiful and I figured a matching ring is not a bad thing!

Beautiful, as always! The hammered shank, toned to reflect the pattern of the turquoise, is truly inspired.

Thank you Starstruck!
I really love how the hammered texture turns out. It's fun to beat the silver and even more fun to oxidize it!

That is so perfect!

Can I ask what the "D" hallmark stands for, or is it personal?

Thanks LilAlex! I try so hard for symmetry and neatness.
That's the first initial of my first name.
I should have the Initial stamp for my last name too, but I never got around to it!

@stracci2000
What do you think if these for the spacers for my jet
I know it was cheap turquoise but it looks nice to my very untrained eye

This is howlite or magnesite which is a white stone that is dyed blue.

From the seller's description:
*Material: Dyed White turquoise

There is no such thing as white turquoise, BTW!

As long as you are aware what these beads are made from.
That being said,
It is pretty and the faceting will sparkle nicely!

Thank you
How on earth did I miss this
I'm disappointed but very happy for you to tell me
I guess the price was too good to be true
I'm very lucky to have you and all our friends to set me straight
They will make very pretty Xmas decorations
I gotta say the sparkle made me suspicouse
Oh well the Whitby jet thread will continue to limp on
I just think my jet beads did not last this long to keep company with a dyed stone
