Show me your turquoise jewelry!

Here's another turquoise and sterling ring I made about 2 weeks ago.
I do like 'em big and showy.
You guys probably think I'm so weird.

So cool! I love that they are large. Really shows off how gorgeous they are.

I've been influenced by some of the turquoise rings I'm seeing lately on Instagram.

@stracci2000 Every time you make a new piece, I saw it's my favorite, but I truly think this one is it! That thick, hammered, oxidized band is incredible!!

I want one of those really really big rings.
Like dinner plate size. What fun that would be!
But seriously, when it comes to turquoise, big is always better. Unless it's Lander Blue, then you might have to make do with a small one.....

I meant "say," not saw. lol I'm too tired for proofing comments, apparently. But yes! You know I agree. I wore this #8 ring the other day. lol

That's a beauty!
What a great stone. I love #8.
Who made it?

I made this pendant last Saturday afternoon. I bought the stone from a vendor at my local gem/ mineral show.

It's Persian turquoise with pyrite inclusions, 38 cts. Sterling silver.
The third photo shows the most accurate color of the turquoise.

I LOVE this type of persian turq with all that glorious pyrite! I prefer it more than the non-matrixed variety, actually. And you did it justice with that stunning silverwork. It's beautimous maximus!! :kiss2:

Thanks Autumn! I'm happy with the result.
The birdseye plus pyrite is so pretty. I have another cab of the same material which I'll set into a ring eventually.

@stracci2000 I love your new pieces. I also like working with my hands and I love art and design. I have painted and done various paper arts and pottery in the past. At this phase in life I still dont feel like I have the energy to really indulge but as my kids are getting older and more independent I can see things opening up and I envision a vet near future where I too could learn this skill. I think I am going to begin with learning to string pearls and beads though. It’s in the to do list for the next year.

Thank you @Dreamer_D !
Stringing pearls and beads is great fun, too! That can be endlessly entertaining, plus you get new jewelry!
Just watch some YouTube videos and jump right in.

I'm lucky to have a circle of artist friends who always inspire me, as well.

Mad skills! That is all there is to be said.

Wow, this is now my favourite!

@stracci2000 is it hard to work with gold?

I believe that working with gold wire and sheet is similar to working with silver.

However, I never crafted anything from gold because it is so cost prohibitive.
Just a small piece of wire to make a few ring shanks would be $$$.
I can't even imagine the cost of sheet gold right now.
You'd be surprised how heavy even a small piece of sheet metal is when they lay it on a scale.

I have done a lot of repairs on my own gold jewelry, like ring sizing and chain repairs, though.
