HELP!!! Just started on buying first diamond....

I figured. .. thanks gypsy, I knew it was just a brick and mortar attempting at getting their cut. .

That's a 1 carat? It looks huge! I can't tell much from the pictures except I think it looks promising. Can they send it to you to check out
And then you can send it back (put a hold on your credit card)? Or, can they provide an aset image?

Edit...Or, another thing that may be able to help you/us decide, can they do an up close video?

Edit again. ..also make sure is eye clean. It's got a feather somewhere
But I can't see the cert that we'll to find it.
 
I'm not loving it, but it could be nice. As for an ASET though. It is large, and that might trump performance in this case.
 
9x6 is nothing to sneeze at.

Your lady seems to favor size over any of the other 4 C's. I can't say this stone is a bad choice for that. It might just be an excellent fit for what she wants.

I would ask about the bowtie.

Thank you Gypsy. That is promising. They are selling me the stone for $4126, and the setting for $1644. Getting just under budget at $5770 out the door. I like having them do the stone, as they can adjust the CAD to these exact stone measurements.

Yes it doesn't come with a gia cert but I think you should consider it. Not saying buy it but at least ask for more pics

I agree ask for more pics. If it doesn't have a bowtie it may be great option (gosh I'd love to snatch it up!). Again though, she needs to like marquise. None of her friends would have one and it would be noticeably larger than their rings. But would she like that shape? I don't see any on her pinterest board....
 
She has a marquise halo pinned.

I like it. Are there better pears out there...probably but I think this one is pretty nice and also has a nice size.

Yeah. I think your lady considers "larger" as "better" and so I think this is a very strong choice for her. It's a big rock.

Totally missed it, you're right! Sounds like the pear is a go anyway. Thought I'd throw the marquise into the ring since she has sizeable rocks pinned :angel:

It correlates to the pictures. The bowtie isn't blue, it's red. That was my main concern.

I think for your lady, it's a very good fit. Especially in that pretty setting.

Please come back with hand shots.

Could it be the vendor does not know how to take a correct ASET image, this stone was their very first time using an ASET.

The bow-tie is red which means it reflects light nicely. I think this one checks all the boxes for you. Buy it.
