Which pear do I put on hold??? I see several on here. I would prefer one ones over 1.00 ct.....

I see Gypsy recommended several. Which one is the best? Or should I wait a while for a better one?

Here's another possible unicorn: https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/pear-shaped/1.01-carat-f-color-si1-clarity-sku-829590

Let me see the if I can find a setting for it.

I'm really liking that pear...

What do you think of this setting? The shape reminds me of the ballerina type rings she has pinned. It has a vintage feel. I think
it is lovely in pink gold. It does have somewhat of a "halo" but it is not your classic halo to make the stone look bigger. Good finger
coverage north/south and east/west. AND, it's less than $2k for a pretty nice look! Click on the movie on the web page and you can
see a "real" version of the ring spinning.

Ugh!! I LOVE that setting! DK did one similar, but I couldn't find it... To me, that's perfect! [emoji7][emoji7]

I alway forget about Joseph Jewelry, but they have some pretty settings.
Msop04 yes! Nkotb's ring by David Klass.

OP DK is in LA, too, according to Google!

That's exactly the ring I was thinking of -- thanks, Pinto!

Here is a size comparison on a size 6 finger. I just like the shape of the 0.95 better. [emoji56]

Well, I like this one too but I was going after size for him because he has dropped down in carat weight. The one above that I like is
8.84x5.35. This one is 7.82x5.42 . I was sacrificing a little bit of facting pattern/light return for size but I'll leave that up
to tduenas4520.

tduenas - you can put them both on hold. Ask for aset images (they can only do them if the stones are in the NY area). I think
the .95 will be a better performer but the 1.01 wins out on size with a slight sacrifice to performance.

also what about this pear from one of Gypsy's first posts.... https://enchanteddiamonds.com/diamonds/view/P101-049459242

I would DEFINITELY look into that one as well, as it looks like the faceting is better than the other skinny pear... but I still like the shape of the 0.95... [emoji16]

ED pear on left, 0.95 on right

Okay... I've changed my mind. Due to the type setting , I think the ED skinny pear may be the best of the three. I like chubby pears, but the halo will provide a chunkier look, so the skinnier ones would work well.

Also a nice looking stone...lovely shape, good light return, lower color but you are going with rose gold so not an issue, VS2 so thumbs
up there and it's slightly bigger than the one that I like (8.94x5.54). Ok, I think I have a new favorite. I would put this one on hold.

I agree tyty... The facets look better and the look will be indistinguishable from the other skinny pear.

I love that website msop...the one that must not be named  :???: . Really helps to clarify size differences.

tduenas - I would see if EnchantedDiamonds could send you a picture of it in regular office lighting and more sure the
tip is not showing too much color. Probably not an issue but I would ask.

Yes, it's sooo super helpful! I forgot to crop out the site in my screen shot -- oops! [emoji56]

Anybody know why we can't mention it? Seems odd...

Regarding color, the I will show color, but since it's gonna be in RG, not such an issue. The 0.95 D will be SUPER ICY WHITE though. Just saying... [emoji56][emoji39]

The ED one (8.94x5.54) is on the right, and the JA one (8.84x5.35) is on the left.

It's beautiful

The OP is wrong on the halo. She has many halos pinned, all of them HW style. No airline.

I am wondering if she just doesn't like bright cut.

It seems she likes only certain halos, not that she dislikes bright cut?? She's probably like a lot of other chicks who see everyday, run if the mill maul halo settings and is like "GROSS!!" I think she just appreciates well made halos. [emoji4]

Just wanted to throw this out there... Would be a HUGE look -- and UNDER budget.

This does look like some of her pins, but I worry that it doesn't specify any lab certification or any way to confirm the seller's thoughts about clarity, etc. I know this seller is recommended here and I follow them as well, so maybe they would be willing to send it out for certification? Or sell it contingent upon that? I like this one better than the other that MSOP posted below, because the one below has a "pad" sapphire with a horrific cut that is almost 100% NOT a pad sapphire (and that irks me that vendors use that label for any stone with a "peach" hue).

I agree... I would want a lab cert as well. It reminded me a lot of some of her pins.

...Regarding the second link, I just thought it was pretty. [emoji56]

Sorry if I was harsh on the 2nd ring, MSOP! I do like the setting, I just have instant :angryfire: reaction when vendors put the label "pad" on center stones that clearly don't have that distinction. Kind of like how everything blue these days is "paraiba". It makes me sad because people end up paying a premium for a name that doesn't actually apply. But the setting is really unique and cool (IMHO). :wavey:

I should edit that as long as the buyer knows that the label isn't "official" via grading then its totally fine. I've purchased zircons that were called "paraiba-colored", but I was completely aware that the label wasn't "real". So I guess I just advocate knowing what you're getting with CS, since the labels are so inconsistent.
