Final AVR comparison...2.12 and 2.29 I VS1

Oh, that did not take long!!! I am probably THE craziest person poor Jonathan has ever dealt with, but I still had some doubts about the 2.29 in spite of thinking it may be too big and too $$$. Soooooo.....I am going to try out the 2.29 and see how I feel about it since it is not expensive to redo the head of my ring. They have a nice 30 day return period and I will have to hope the 2.12 does not sell during that time. If I find the 2.29 is perfect, then I will keep it. If I decide it is over the top in size, then I will switch it for the 2.12. I just hated feeling like I was passing up a potentially great stone without actually trying it in a setting. I just can't tell much in those ring holders that has the stone sitting up an inch off the finger! The diamond and my setting are going to Vatche on Monday. I really think the 2.12 makes more sense, but diamonds and sense don't always go together!!!

I am so excited for you DS and I think you make total sense!!! Live with it for a while and see how you feel. DSS is real, very real.

Congratulations and fingers crossed it is everything you want it to be! You made a wonderful choice (though you really couldn't have made a wrong choice b/w those 2) and I think you will be very happy!!!

So glad you allowed yourself up to the last moment to really make the choice - I too think once set, the 2.29ct will be a keeper, but even if not, I am glad you'll have the opportunity to see it and wear it in your setting!

But since I was still in the return period on the 2.12, I realized I could order the 2.29 and just set it and try it out! I jokingly mentioned the idea to Jon and he said it was fine! Sooo, it seems like a big pain in the neck to me, but it costs me little to try it and see. Vatche said the 2.12 could probably fit in the same head. But even if it doesn't, I guess it it worth trying.

That is a very smart way of thinking on the 30 days with the 2.12. Set the 2.29 and then see if that makes it work for you while inside the 2.12 return policy. SMART lady!!!!!

Ooo.... exciting times to see what you think of the 2.29 in the actual setting. and as you pointed out, it doesn't break the bank to change the setting in the overall scheme of things.. The ducks are all lining up for you to make the ultimate decision on the AVR!!

Greg, I am not quite that smart! My 30 days was close to over on the 2.12. Had I kept it past 30 days, it would have been mine and then my only option would have been upgrade. This way, I have returned the 2.12 and do take a chance on it being sold while having the 2.29. But as it is, if I decide that the 2.29 is not going to work, then I am free to do anything I want. I did not want to be locked in to anything in case the 2.12 sold, especially.

It goes to Vatche on Monday so expect 1 to 2 weeks since that was the time frame for the original setting. I am anxious to see it, too!

You mentioned you couldn't tell the cut difference between 2, wonder if there are any? I remember Jonathan mentioning the AVR I have now was cut by a respective member in this forum, too.....
