Well, I can dream. Here's a drop dead gorgeous molten lava EC spess, and the LM setting it's in is to die for. Where is the original thread about this, and the stone??? Help!!
Is that the Pokey special?
It's her ring mounting, but she has a tsavorite in it. I want to see more pics of this ring with that magnificent spess in it!!

The LM setting would be an excellent choice.

I took a picture outside in the sun today on a black background with my hand cupped over the stone for shade. Wow, it look red here!! I''m keeping it on a black background in my gem box now!! These stones pop against black!!

Sorry for the fuzzy shot. For some reason, like my round cuprian, this stone will not focus. I think because it sparkles a lot.

I have NO IDEA how to set this thing!
32.gif

specs on this stone: 2.10cts ,7.89x 7.01 x 4.82mm, so its a petite firecracker.

I thought about setting it in yellow gold, but yellow gold looks so craptacular on me
14.gif
, so it will no doubt be white.

I''m going to set my pear spess in a double halo like this deep colored citrine. I love the contrast.

Just throwing this idea out there for you as well.

Beautiful spess, TL! I like the idea of setting it east/west - it''s simple, yet a bit unique - a perfect combination! Congrats on your great find.

Too bad I can't get those great killer in-focus shots like SleepySpinel.

His stones just pop like crazy!!

This stone will not focus on camera. Ugh!!

Thanks again everyone. What would I do without Pricescope ColoredStoners?

Hi SS,
I definitely want to do an East West design. However, I''m seriously thinking of getting my pear reset first. The setting it is currently in is dreadful!!

Yes I agree with setting your most favored stone first, that is what I did with my spinels. Since you are absolutely in love with the color of the pear, why not maximize your enjoyment of it first. And later down the road you can give that emerald cut the setting it deserves.

I bet your reset is going to really look hot TL!

I''ve been looking at those
17.gif
(y''all are enablers

)

My problem has been that knowing I have to have a custom head has kept me from pulling that trigger. I would do a pendant, but then I''d either never wear it because I want to see it, or be in the mirror all the time.

Arcadian,
You gave four measurements for your stone, what is the exact length and width of it?

7.89 L x 7.01 W is how I measured it. Its pretty deep too, nearly 5mm.

I do actually, but don't know if I want to set it in one. I really think this stone could stand on its own. It may do well with some small side diamonds but every time I think about putting it in a full halo feel weird about it.

I have absolutely no doubt that your stone could stand on it''s own. However, something about white diamonds and white gold against the stark contrast of a molten lava stone seems yummy to me.

Just admit it, TL. You have an obvious weakness for halos.

Especially for spessartites with halos.
