SDL, you are so sweet. I will be sure to post more for you soon. It is a work in progress...we moved here about a year and a half ago, and have painted the cabinets white, changed out the appliances and the countertops. We still are going to do a backsplash and the floors. BTW, love your tree!

Mine is red & clear stained glass and it doesn''t light up, It dropped from the top of the tree this year and part of the top of the star now has a crack in the glass

And thanks for the compliment, Skippy!

Wow, amazing new pics! Beautiful trees and I love all the creative stocking places!!

Catmom~ I''d love to walk through your home at Christmas!

Does anybody have pics of their outdoor decs??

More pictures, please!

Seriously, I keep checking this thread for my Christmas tree fix.
MUST.SEE.MORE.TREES! I really on you guys for my vicarious Christmas joy!

Beautiful trees, I have a 7.5 foot tree that I got from QVC many years ago, it has 600 white and 600 colored lights and it has a remote you can leave all the color lights on or all the white lights on or both, it pretty sweet, I dont have the tree all the way together yet, once I do I will attempt to get a picture with my crappy camera
2.gif

All these trees are putting me in a Christmas mood! Catmom that is one impressive tree! Traveling Gal, good score!

We haven''t gotten our full size tree yet (maybe this weekend?) but I snuck in a took a shot of the mini tree in the kids room. They got so excited even though it is just a cheap little thing, with mini ornaments from a craft store.

I put my tree up last night. We have one of those trees that has a little of everything. I would love a themed tree, but that is not our tradition. I am not posting yet because when I looked at it I think that it needs some more silver. So once I get more balls and my cats beard and santa hat delivered I will post my tree and one unhappy cat dressed as santa.

We have our tree
36.gif

DH brought it home and I''m totally stoked to decorate. It was under 30 degrees last night, so the tree was all frosty and now is wet, so we cannot put the lights up yet!

Will post photos when I can.

The tree is tiny, but cute.

Gorgeous trees! So chic, too. Mine look like an accident in a tinsel factory most years.

No one where I live has a tree decorated yet, so I''m looking here for inspiration. We''re late starters!

One question for those with toddler - how do you keep the tree and its decorations safe from little hands? Ours is a live tree in a (big) pot that we bring in every year. I have a feeling there will be earth all over the house within minutes of its arrival. I''m almost tempted not to bother.
8.gif

Up until this year I''ve had a small (3.5ft) tree, but this year I convinced DH that we needed a bigger one. It is a 7.5 ft slim tree which is currently wedged between the cat scratching post and a bookcase. I don''t have too many ornaments yet but I''m sure that will change over the years!

Everyone's trees and decorations look so festive!!! Here's ours, Happy Holidays to all!

Shoot, didn't work! I'll try again later

Here''s ours. I haven''t put the star on top yet because I don''t know where it is (I have an excuse we moved in May and that was only a few months back, right?). . .so anyhow, I took that out of the photo

Got the xmas tree today and decorated. My older daughter put up pretty much all the ornaments. I think she did a pretty good job! A rare Christmas princess was caught inspecting the tree when the photo was taken.

Thanks, Skippy! Yes, Andrew did help this year...it was the first year where he actually helped and didn''t just take all the ornaments off as I put them up! Hope you are doing well, friend!

Yay for real trees!! I love the character in real trees, you just can''t get that with artificial!

Mrs. M~ JT was 10 months old his first Christmas. I decorated the tree like normal and let him explore it with me right there. The novelty wore off after a couple days and he preferred to just sit and look at it rather than touch it. I think the pokey limbs deterred him too. I have an aunt who put her tree in a playpen when her kids were little LOL, and my mom used to wedge ours in a corner so it was a bit out of the way for us to get to. Since I''ve never had a real tree, I''m not sure how easily they tip, but I suggest securing it to a wall or something just in case.

Also, if any of you have a favorite ornament(s), I think we''d all love to see pics of those too!!

I like my ornaments glittery and toy-like

This is our itty bitty tree on the kitchen table. The white tree still isn''t up. We have another small one, bigger than this tho..maybe I can find a spot for that one too!

Cute Party Gypsy. Love your daughter''s outfit.

My older son helped decorate, but put all the oraments on the very tips of the branches so I had to go back and move them again!

My other son just danced around the whole time.

Love all of the trees so far!!! Thanks for sharing!

What do you guys do for Christmas tree skirts? I don''t like the traditional ones, so I''m thinking of putting sheepskins under there a la YoungHouseLove. They are kind of pricey at Ikea though (40 a piece) and I would need 3 of them to cover the base of the tree....http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/83235110

Our decor is more modern, and I don''t like any skirts I''ve seen...any recommendations?

Here''s our tree so far. The pic is bad because it''s from my phone. We go with an artificial tree to cut down on the maintenance and to allow us to keep it up a bit longer, and I picked white because I figure if you''re going to go fake, you may as well go REALLY fake.

Even though I have a ton of really cool ornaments that my parents bought me through the years, I stick to unbreakable balls and bows because our 3 year old can''t leave the tree alone. Each year, I usually change the colors, but last year, I did black and silver and it looked so beautiful that I kept those colors this year. My older daughter asked to add purple and I said no because I didn''t want it to look like a bruise, but I did give in and go with hot pink.

LOVE all the trees, and ADORE all the cute pets underneath them.

I was totally one of those Jewish gals with X-Mas tree envy for many years, but I married a Catholic, so now we get to have a tree, which I love

Ours is always red and silver, and this has been a banner year - the first year the kitties have all (so far) left the tree alone

MC thanks - previous years my oldest helped but would put bunches on a few branches, this is the first year she seems to get the idea of spacing them out. Last year it seemed our youngest understood the no touch rule. This year she''s gone backwards, although being careful, keeps taking the ornaments off the tree. I''m hoping she gets bored of that soon.

Starset I love your tree. I really like the esthetic of the unbreakable 1950-1960''s modern type ornaments; reminds me of my grandparent''s tree. I only have a few like that. Mine is a real jumble, but mostly old glass ornaments and soft or somehow unbreakable but toylike ornaments that are touchable for the kids.

I agree, if fake tree, flaunt it!

We just put ours up today. It's so difficult to take a good picture of a tree with the lights on.

Is anyone else having the problem wanting a ball or ornament in a certain spot and there isn''t a stinking branch to hang it on? I have been frustrated by this. I stand there with an ornament in hand and look for a good spot. I find it, there is nothing there. I lean it and find that the reason there is nothing there is because there is not a branch nearby that will allow this ornament to be right in that spot. The worst part about it is that I do this several times before I realize that I keep going to the same spot over and over. Baahhh!
