Apparently he also does some semi-mounts. I have a couple of tiny diamonds and he has some mounts that would fit them perfectly!
31.gif
None of the sellers like LOGR make them for diamonds as small as mine.

The seller is blufoxxcreations. Alot of his pictures are of newly casted rings so they haven't been polished or anything yet and look almost dirty. Don't let that deter you from taking a closer look though!
Not to hijack the thread, but those are nice. I've been looking forever for an antique style mount for some stones I have, and it's so hard to find them, let alone affordable ones. I wonder if he does rose gold? Thanks for providing the seller name.

AJ, that is a truly wicked find you have there- new old jewelry stock is not a common thing, and besides that it is smashing!

hi AJ!

This is probably the most pretty wedding band I''ve seen in a long time!! It is so like the VC bands, and well well done to you for winning it!!

When I first saw you post about it, I remember thinking ''wowie! - sometimes ebay rocks!''

This band would truly, in my opinion, make a beautiful wedding band, and I would be inclined to consider putting it away, for that exact day. It''s special enough to warrant saving...

Sizing...hmmmm

Once, I saw something done, that might work with this. It would need a skilled jeweller, and I may be off the mark here, in remembering how a ring was once done.

But...if you can imagine, asking a jeweller, to make you a ''half'' wedding band, in a gold to match the inside of the band you have, and it is the exact width of the inside profile...and very thin.

They then weld (laser) a ''layer'' to the upper half of your band...

Thus...hopefully...making it fit...and keeping the hallmarks intact, and no need to disrupt the stunning pattern on it.

It might just work, and I would certainly consider the cost well worth it!!

many congratulations on a stunning ring.

Infact, I've had a closer look and I'm actually quite impressed with their semi - mounts!
Have you bought anything from him? Were you happy with the quality and service?
I checked toolhaus and not one negative or neautral, always a good sign!
I'm looking forward to my new OEC RHR too, and really wanted a bezel - this looks like a great economical option

hi pwendyp,

what a fantztstic post, thankyou ! I believe what you are describing is called a horse-shoe sizer maybe? I think that is a great idea. I would have to find a quality jeweller first, as sadly I don''t have one
7.gif

To be honest, I have been wearing it daily because I like it so much - and I realized today that its already getting a lil scratched up at work etc...you are right, it is very tempting to put it away and preserve !

thankyou for your comments

I came back to peek at your band again!

AJ...I may be totally off the plot here...but

I remember LoveinBloom''s VC ring set...(absolutely gorgeous btw!)

Have you considered using this band to make a shank for your diamond? And when the time comes, go to Artcarved for a wedding band - plain yellow or white - with perhaps milgrain edges.

I know it can be done - just need to choose the right place to ''snip'' the ring!

I think it could look fantastic - totally unique.

I haven''t ordered anything from them. I did send them a couple of messages (I think regarding sizing) and they replied promptly. I''ve had them in my ebay favorites for a couple of years now... ever since I was looking for a wedding band for myself. I love the 2 Precision Set bands I have, but I feel like I should have gone with a BluFoxx one because of the price. I actually removed them from my favorites I guess because I searched about an hour last night looking for him again so I could let you know lol.

He tells you about how many grams the rings weigh so I guess you could ask around to see if something seems too lightweight or just right. Since these are antique molds, I assume the craftmanship is pretty darn good and then any good jeweler can mount and polish it for you.

Here was his response about rose gold mounts

Yes - any of the mountings can be made in rose gold but they are special order and not returnable. Thay take 3-4 weeks as they are sent off to be cast.

Yayy! I love rose gold!

Thankyou for the further info Oobie - I am pretty sure I will get one of the filigree mounts for my OEC when the time comes.

Thanks goobear!
The listing said it was about 60yrs old, and I''m pretty sure AC is an US company..?
cheers!

Hello,

I am a long time major lurker on this site. I wanted to post that I bought the art carved wedding band for my husband. I had been looking for a special piece since it is our 30th wedding anniversary 1/13/08. I could not believe how beautiful the ring is and what a bargain!! I could not wait to give it to my husband and he loves it and is wearing it all the time! We both love old vintage jewelry and I am so happy with this find. Thank you for posting this ring on this thread. I will have to spend some time soon and post some of our rings.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Oh Wow!!

FrasierIce I''m so sorry I never saw this earlier ! Let me say welcome to PS, and we would love to see a pic of your DH wearing it

Also, my congrats on your anni, what an achievement

I feel soo happy that you bought that ring and love it - did you get the one thats similiar to mine, or one of the others?
Aren''t they the best, and yes a great bargain.

I have actually decided to start a collection of old A.C wedding bands, which is what prompted me to revisit this thread.

If anyone''s keen, there''s a lovely vintage one here. I have bought too much lately, otherwise I''d get it myself. I thought it may be someone''s style.
Also, I have been talking to the seller, and she is willing to go lower on price I think
5.gif

She also has the same ring in White gold, and will sell as a set.

Watch this space for pics of my new bands

AJ - sorry I''m late, life has gotten in the way of PS lately! Doh!

From one Ozzie to another (lol - makes me think of mozzies), I think you just absolutely NEED to wear that stunner as your wedding band! Do what I''m doing, a simple registry office affair for the wedding so that you can wear her ASAP!! My FI and I decided to just take the plunge about two weeks ago, as we lost our house in the awful QLD storms recently and figured life is too short.

And it is, far too short to not honour that amazingly special piece of jewelry as a promise of love and fidelity between you and your Mister! ;) Talk to a few jewellers perhaps, and see what your options for resizing are?

Congrats on your purchase, I hope she brings you great joy. ;)

Are you rebuilding? You probably don''t feel like talking about it...

Thankyou for your comments, I have been wearing and enjoying the ring on my right hand - life''s too short right

I don''t think we will have a big traditional wedding, but I''m not sure if the time is right now either..
But thankyou anyway ! I hope to see you around more when you have the time

Hi AJ,
Thought of you when I saw this link
Yours is way more amazing, but this is so dainty, thought you might be interested.
and this link
not so dainty, but just amazing craftmanship.

It''s just beautiful! So delicate and yet so much detail. It reminds me of a gorgeous ring that once belonged to my grandmother.
Congratulations!

WOW, Aj, that is one beeeautiful little ring! Great find. Wear it in good health.

Hiya!

Thankyou ladies for your kind comments
35.gif

And thankyou swimmer for the eye-candy - those are both really sweet! I see quite alot of that first type of band on ebay
with the lil single cuts in the top - they usually go for ~150 on a good day
5.gif

cheers all!

wow, thanks for the info on cost. I''m looking for a teeeeeny spacer band, so that helps me readjust the budget downwards. I was just so excited to see AC stamps and know you look for these. That lilly band would be nice as a rhr, but again, the price is not right.
VERY HELPFUL!
