Woohoo-just back from WW and down another pound! So 16.5 in total now.

Patiently-well done on passing the ice-skating class! Sorry to hear about your fall though-hope you recover quickly! Rest on the couch and dust off that box set!

Skippy-enjoy muscle hour! Sewing class sounds tough-I hate having to bring work home! You''ll be a pro by the end of it.

dragonfly-you''re doing tons of exercise-well done!! Best of luck avoiding that cake.

Talk to you all later!

Dragonfly, ya for your workout!

Bee, whooo hooo for another lb!!!

Hey there Miss Ellen!

eta: CrownJewel and Marcy, allergies make me super duper sleepy so I hear ya

Crown enjoy the gorgeous weather!!!

Hi everyone!!! We've been having such beautiful weather in NYC! I hope you are all enjoying the springtime.

Rod, glad to hear you liked the movie. I love having a collection of funny movies on DVD...whenever I feel sad or frustrated, funny movies perk me right back up. Everytime I have a craving for fro-yo, I think of you and Charlie!!! (Does this mean I've been on PS for too long?) We don't have many exciting froyo places close by. There's a Pinkberry, but I didn't think it was as exciting as other people have described it ("crackberry?"). What do you get in your froyo?

Octavia, hooray for your workout. It sounds like you did a great job! I often see myself weighing more too when I first get back into the gym. Have you been away from the gym for a while? I think it just takes a while for your body to get used to the extra excercise. Haha...sorry your steam room was closed while you were there.
7.gif
Next time they should check with you first!

Marcy, yeah I think I went overboard on the food. FI said it was too many fancy options = too much work. I'm still new to this entertaining concept. My allergies make me sleepy too! I hate it!

Spark, good luck with WW. Everyone I know who has tried it loves it. Congrats on the wedding progress. I have so much to do for mine still and we've been engaged for a year and a half!

Kimmie, I hope school is going well!! I don't know if I responded to your last post about school, but I think it's great that you have a good supervising teacher. I'm really glad you got paired up with her...she seems understanding and a good mentor. Good luck with your meeting and have fun at the play. What are you seeing?

DJ, I'm so happy to see you getting on the elliptical so often! I have to catch up to you. You know, I hate to bring up an old topic, but I was wondering you ever got a Magic Bullet (the food blender...not...ahem...the other thing). They are quite expensive, and I'm wondering if we should get one. We have so many gadgets already in our tiny tiny kitchen.

Bee- good for you keeping up with the workouts in the middle of all these exams! Wow. I was never very good at maintaining that balance. It's tough! So cheers to you.

PW, one of my best friends is also taking an ice skating class. Hers is a figure skating class...is that what you're doing? Wow, what a good workout that must be! Congrats on getting a patch!

Skippy, good to hear you are trying to cut sodas. I did that a couple years ago, and it was quite easy for me because I thought of all the yucky chemicals!! If you miss the carbonation, I will add orange juice or pomegranate juice or cranberry juice to seltzer or mineral water. So much better for you! Sewing sounds so fun. It's one hobby I wish I had more time for. Be sure to post a photo of your PJs when you're done!

Hi Ellen! I love seeing those arrows in this thread!

Dragonfly, sounds like you are an excercise master! You've been up to a lot huh?!

Ok, so I am definitely lagging behind. Will head straight to the gym after work today. I bought new sneakers!! They are a kid's size, and kids sneakers are usually not as supportive but they're cute and I'm only going on the elliptical. So they'll probably be fine for today's workout.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Skippy - Thanks for the IS kudos. Have fun at muscle hour! And yeah for working on getting rid of sodas from your diet. I know how hard it can be at first, but I did it years ago and am so happy I did. I feel so much healthier without all those chemicals! And S&TC is so much fun isn't is?
dragon - Keep up the great workouts! Yeah for being down another pound!
bee - Congratulations on being down 16.5 - great job!!

I think I will kick back a little this week with that little pink box

Good luck with your exam! Thanks for the ice skating congrats.
CJ - Yes, my BF and I took an ice skating class for beginner adults which was six weeks long. He'd only been skating a few times before in college and I'd never been on the ice before a few months ago. It is so much fun. We want to continue doing it for another session or more. It's great exercise, and I keep hearing it's wonderful for the legs

Enjoy your elliptical and new sneakies AND this gorgeous weather we're having (I'm East Coast also). Thanks for the skating kudos!

I''m trying really hard to stay active, it makes me feel better overall in the end. In highschool and early college I was very active, rode horses every day, biked, roller bladed, my friends and I jogged for fun, did a lot of walking, and swam all summer. I hit full time working all year and BAM weight, less activity. I''m trying to bring my activity levels back up. My horses are out of ..."retirement" haha, and I ride about 3-4 times a week now, I walk every day, try to jog as well, SO and I hike and bike on the weekends, and this summer is going to be all about water for me :)

Keep up the good work everyone, sending dust and encouragement your way!!!!

Hello all!

Well, today was a great day. I had my dermatologist appointment today and the spot I had on my leg is just fine. She said it was just scar tissue from a bug bite that didn''t heal properly (darn those big dragonfly things in So. Florida!). Whew, what a huge relief off my shoulders. Thanks for all the kind wishes that it would turn out to be nothing at all. I will certainly be going in for a yearly check from now on to be on the safe side.

To celebrate, I picked Andrew up from my aunt''s house and took him for ice cream. I chose the no sugar added, low fat vanilla with raspberries, blueberries and stawberries mixed in all in a kid''s size. I think that is what this healhty lifestyle is about....still enjoying things, but modifying the choices to fit a healthier lifestyle. Kudos to those resturants that offer healthy alternatives! I have a big pot of WW Taco Soup on for dinner tonight, so I have been eating very healthy today. I have exercised everyday since Friday, so I''m thinking I might just take the dog for a nice long walk as my exersize for the day and let my muscles rest. Oh, I did check the scale this morning and I was down 3 lbs! Woohoo! Everyone have a great night!

Marcy, hope your hubby feels better.

Kimmi, hope the tacos were good. Made me think to have my taco soup! Have fun at the play!

CJ, hope you''re feeling better and the bbq sounds awesome!

Rod, glad you enjoyed the movie. I can''t wait to see it.

Octavia, good going on your workout!

Sparkalicious, congrats on picking the date!

DeeJay, 40 mins is not short to me, way to go girl!

Bee, good luck on your exam and congrats on your weight loss. Wow, 16.5 is great!

PW, sorry about the injury, hope you get back into the swing of things.

Skippy, I am trying to cut out sodas too. I drink diet, but I know it is not very healthy. I am making small changes like only ordering water when we go out to eat. Good luck on your sewing. I should really take it up. Curtains for our new house are SO expensive, I could save a bundle by making them myself!

Hi, Ellen!

Dragonfly, congrats on the pound lost and all the working out!

The HH is off picking up some Indiana food so I thought I'd do a quick check in.

The whole way home today I was thinking, OK, tomorrow I'll go do my usual 65 mins on the elliptical, but then I got a call for a showing in the morning so that's out the window. There is actually an offer on that property so if it manages to come together in time I will cancel that other showing, but neither side is moving too fast in this negotiation so I'm not really counting on it...

CJ, LOL on the *magic bullet*!!! No, we didn't actually get one. Now you've got me thinking about it again though!

Steph, have you ever looked at the curtains at Silk Trading Company? They are "ready made" in standard sizes, but they have a nice selection and their prices aren't TOO outrageous. Plus, if you sign up for their mailing list I think you get a 10% off coupon. Depending on where you're located you might save tax too if there's no store in your state. And I'm VERY glad to find out your spot it OK!

Bee, the food idea was a good one... until I got a call on my way out the door and forgot it all on the counter! I stopped at Starbucks and got a breakfast sandwich--to the tune of 380 cals!

Hi everyone. I hope you had a great day. I made low fat / low cal pizza for supper tonight. The best part is I didn’t get any flour on my shirt – that’s a massive achievement for me. We followed it up with some slow churned ice cream.
Sparkalicious, sounds like you are full steam ahead on your wedding plans. It is so fun (and sometimes stressful) to plan a wedding. Good luck at WW tomorrow. You’ll be fine.
Kimi, Marty is better today, thanks. Have fun at the play tonight.
DeeJay, I am not a fan of the organic or natural peanut butter. Give me good old fashioned Jif.
Bee, good luck on your exam tomorrow and enjoy your last week of bootcamp. Marty is doing better. He will cook supper sometimes but I still do the dishes and trust me – he can generate more dishes when he cooks than I ever would. Congratulations for being down another pound.
PW, I am so sorry to hear about your wrist. Ouch! I hope it gets better soon. Congratulations on making the adult level. Marty usually gets migraines when he’s really tired or stressed, they aren’t fun.
Skippy, I love my coke but I only have one on the weekends. Have fun at muscle hour tonight. Pajamas sound like a fun project to make. I actually just returned the skirt; I decided to try and find one I could try on. I have lost over an inch on my hips since then so I am sure the smaller size would have been fine. It sounds like both our husbands are used to us being silly. They’re okay, huh?
Hi Ellen!
Dragonfly, congratulations for being down another pound and yay for getting in some great walks.
CJ, we always cook way too much food for company but it’s nice to entertain sometimes. When we are feeling lazy we’ll just do burgers, brats, chips and salad. No one goes home hungry either way, right? I can’t believe how sleepy allergies make you. My lungs are kind of hurting too. Silly allergies. I hope your allergies get better soon. How fun to buy kids sneakers, they are pretty cute.
Steph, I am relieved to hear the spot on your leg is just a scar. I know you were delighted to hear that news. Ice cream sounds like a great way to celebrate. My hubby is better tonight, thanks.
Well, I’m off to the treadmill. Take care and have a great evening.

Evening All..........

We had a really nice day. The weather certainly couldn't be any nicer if it tried. High about 80, with low humidity, palm tree fronds swaying in gentle breezes and the most beautiful blue skies one could ask for. We had our bowl of fruit and coffee on the terrace and read the paper. Lunch was a healthy low sodium turkey sandwich at home. Then of course Sbucks under the oak and we split a Tart Cherry Scone from Panera to help fuel our workout this afternoon. I had my car washed, then hit the gym around 2:45. I was feeling down when I got there, but exercise is my salvation and it really helped save me today. I just got so focused on what I was doing that I tuned the rest of the world out. I did more sets of unassisted chinups and dips than I've ever done and that made me quite happy. I worked all the muscle groups and pushed them hard and that made me happy. And I pushed as hard as I could on the elliptical, but could only do 30 minutes instead of 35 because we had a homeowners association meeting (hate them to be honest) at the condo starting at 6 and I was running out of time. Still, I managed to burn over 500 calories and travel over 4 miles in those 30 minutes, so I was quite pleased.

I usually don't check my cell phone at the gym, but did for some odd reason, and found out I've got an interview Monday. I don't have much information about the job, but it might be interesting as it requires my recruiting knowledge, but in a completely different area and that would be a welcome change. At least I have something to look forward to on the job possibility front.

Dinner was chicken vegetable soup and a piece of baked chicken. We had a couple pieces of dark chocolate for dessert and I'll have a fuji apple in a bit. Tomorrow will be pretty much a repeat of today which is just fine!

Lot's of posts today, so if I miss anyone, my apologies in advance:

Octavia, muscle definitely weighs more than fat, so if you've been working out hard, the extra pound could certainly be muscle. But, when I started working out, I lost weight for a long time before my muscles grew to the point that my weight increased. Anyway, keep up the good work.

Sounds like you've got a lot on our plate Spark with the wedding planning and still working out. Good for you!! Don't let those WW people intimidate you one bit. They were (are) there for the exact same reason you're going. Thanks for the encouragement on the job front!

Enjoy the play tonight Kimberly!

Hey DeeJay, good for you getting in 40 minutes on the elliptical!

Hppe your exam goes well and you make it to bootcamp bee*. You'll definitely have to see the movie since you love male frontal nudity!! LOL
31.gif
And WOO HOO for being down 16.5 pounds!! You go bee*!!!!

Aw PW, I'm sorry you took a spill on the ice and sprained your wrist. I did that to myself once, inline skating and understand how one wants to instinctively brace one's fall with your hands. I hope it heals quickly.

YAY for cutting out soda Skippy! I was a Coke-A-Holic (and not diet Coke either) and just completely eliminated soft drinks altogether about 3 years ago. I can't stand the taste of soda anymore. Waaaaay too sweet. And that will likely happen to you too. I figure anything that can eat the gunk off battery cables, probably shouldn't be near my stomach lining. Hint Hint! I hope muscle hour was good tonight!

Hey Miss Ellen!

Sounds like you're doing great Dragon!! Woo Hoo for being down another pound!!

Hey CJ, I'm glad the weather in NYC is great. Springtime can be so beautfiul in Central Park this time of year. I miss Lilac, it smells so sweet. Of course we have orange blossoms this time of year in Florida and the smell is so intoxicating. Our natural tart yogurt place only has two permannent flavors, green tea and plain and then one new flavor each week. Some weeks it's Peach or Pink Grapefruit or Mango. But, I really do prefer the plain and green tea the most. I vary the fruit, but my favorite is fresh blueberries with green tea and either fresh strawberries or pineapple or mango with plain. Sometimes, I'll get all three fruits!

And to you Steph - YAYAYAYAYAY!!!!! I knew there was nothing wrong, but I'm so glad the doctor agreed! And you lost three pounds to boot. I hope you and Adam and Andrew celebrate for sure!

Yumm to low fat/low cal pizza Marcy! Since I've discovered natural tart yogurt, I'm afraid I've lost my taste for ice cream. And that's amazing as I don't think I ever mentioned my parents owned a Mr. Donut and a Baskin Robbins when I was a teenager. They were across the street from each other. And I remember taking a fresh hot out of the fryer, glaze donut to Baskin Robbins and then putting two scoops of Fudge Brownie ice cream (one of my favorite flavors) and then pouring hot fudge all over, topped with pecans and whipped cream. It's no wonder I was a super super sized (aka FAT) kid!
Enough droning from Rod for one night. Sleep well everyone!

ETA: Good Lord this is looooong. SORRY
32.gif

Rod, way to go working out so hard at the gym. You certainly deserve to be a poster on their wall! I walked 26 minutes on the TM and burned 120 calories – no where nearly as impressive as your workout but pretty impressive for me. A warm donut with fudge brownie ice cream and toppings sounds quite yummy. I don’t mind frozen yogurt but I do prefer ice cream. As a kid I was the family baker – cookies, cakes, brownies, etc. I always tasted the dough and tested them when they came out of the oven. I definitely had and fed my sweet tooth. Congratulations for a job interview on Monday. Good luck vibes coming your way!

Hey WWTr''s! Things are going ok in Monnie-land...DH has an interview tomorrow, (he heard back from the co he was really interested in today, though, saying they''d hired someone else--at least they called and told him) and I have a "working interview" this Friday...I posted a thread about it in Hangout. I have another interview with a different co. on Monday that I''m also excited about. It seems like as soon as the weather warmed up here DH and I both started getting more phone calls from employers, I swear midwesterners just wait until the snow melts to go into action.
20.gif

I worked out today by doing an ExerciseTV butts n'' thighs quickie 10 min. deal, then DH and I took the dogs for a 2 mile walk. When we got back I made us a simple rigatoni pasta with garlic/herb sauce and steamed baby brussels sprouts for dinner. While watching American idol I worked on my arms with weights, so I think I got in a pretty well-rounded workout for the day.

Rod, good to hear you have an interview Monday!

That''s all I have for tonight, hope everyone has a nice Tuesday evening!

Guys, so sorry I''ve been MIA. After the 10k my allergies kicked in, which I misdiagnosed as a cold. In the last two and a half weeks I''ve not exercised much and then I went to New Orleans for my birthday. I''ve only worked out a few times and run once in the last two and a half weeks.

Which leads me to a puzzler . . . I seem to still be shrinking in Ann Taylor/Ann Taylor Loft sizes, which is where I get most of my clothes. I haven''t lost more than a pound in the last six (?) months, but some of the pants that I bought recently are baggy. I wore a new pair of pants today that I bought with my sister three weeks ago and am just positive I would not have bought pants that fit like that. So in March of last year I was an 8P pushing a 10, then in just a month or two I was a 6, then by the end of the school year I was just fitting into 4''s. I think I''ve been a 2 pretty consistently since the fall, but at first it was just some 2''s, usually the "curvy" ones, that would fit, and then it was a few 0''s that would fit in the last few months, and now it''s pretty much all 0''s and I''m swimming in the curvy 2''s, and some of the 0''s are loosish.

1/3 of me is sure that I am healthy (I eat at least 2,000 calories a day and I am a petite woman, and lately I''ve been lucky if I work out two or three times a week), 1/3 of me is angry that I have spent so much money on clothes that don''t seem to fit as well as they did a month ago, and 1/3 of me is secretly pleased that I seem to be able to be skinny without much effort, which I realize is a pretty rare thing. So I guess all of me doesn''t know what to think. It''s almost as though stopping running and going on an indulgent weekend accelerates weight loss/body change because it seems like when I work out consistently and eat all healthy stuff I stay the same, and I when I indulge and cut back on working out I mysteriously get smaller. I guess I thought that any further change would require excessive diet restriction and exercise and be unrealistic, whereas it seems to be happening naturally (?) or at least with ease.

I am sharing this with my PS family because I know that going around saying to friends and family, "Oh poor me, I seem to be losing weight without trying" won''t go over very well.

Woohoo Rod and Monnie and Mr. Monnie. Good luck on the interviews! Rod, I will wave some lilac in the air tomorrow when I pass the flower stand and hope that it wafts over to you! Congrats on the new Rod Record for unassisted chinups. My hero.

Steph, I''m glad seeing the doctor quieted your fears. That happens to me a lot too...it''s better to be safe than sorry.

Marcy, I attached a photo of my new sneakers. I love them so much. They were so cheap that I think I should get another pair soon.

I wore these babies through a half hour walk TWICE today and then on the elliptical at the gym and they were GREAT. excellent cushioning and support, especially for a kid''s shoe. Then I had sashimi for dinner!! YUM.

CJsnewsneakers.jpg

Thanks Marcy! Since my parents worked, I was the cook in my mid teens and I became a pretty good cook too.

YAYAYAYAY for interviews Monnie!!! Maybe you're right, it has to thaw in the midwest for people to get in the hiring mood. Sorry hubby didn't get the job he was interested in, but there must be something even better ahead. I have to believe that we're going through this god awful experience for some good reason. At least I hope it's for a good reason. Anyway, fingers crossed for both of you!

Hey Phoenix. Sorry you thought your allergies were a cold. When I read your post, I was concerned that you must have been dropping weight, but since you've only lost like one pound in the last six months, I don't really have an idea what would make you lose clothes sizes, especially during a time of less activity. While I'm sure most of us wouldn't mind having that problem, I would suggest you schedule an appointment with your doctor, just to be on the safe side. I'm sure you're just fine, but it might be good to be checked out.

Thanks for the whiff of Lilac bloosom CJ! I'll send some orange blossom your way!!

Thanks Rod! I think you''re right, this god awful experience has got to work out in a positive way for all of us, and there has to be a reason behind it...I''m thinking it''s that we''re destined for better things. Of course, I''m a total optimist and for the most part I see the glass half full in life. Cliches aside, I hope that you and Charlie have great luck in the near future and it helps a lot to know that you and he (and all the PSr''s) are wishing us well.

Monnie, good luck to both you and your husband with your interviews. It sounds like you had some great workouts today.
Phoenix, there is a lot of allergy sufferers around. I feel your pain. Congratulations on getting smaller; I am glad whatever your doing is working for you. I also am nodding my head at the aggravation but excitement at having recently purchased clothes that get too big for you. I have spent a fortune on clothes but I want to wear clothes that fit me too.
CJ, your shoes are great. I am glad they are comfortable and supportive for you.
Rod, I have 2 sisters and one of them and I did all the cooking since both of my parents worked. Both of us are good cooks, but she’s tiny – she never really liked sweets like I do. I’ll send all the lilacs your way too – they make me sneeze.

Hi all, nothing new here with me at all. Had the exam this morning-it went ok so I''m just doing some more study and then into work.

Skippy-thank you!

Crown-I wish I was in NYC enjoying the nice weather! I''m not sure how long the balance will last
9.gif
Hope you enjoyed your new sneakers at the gym yesterday!

Patiently-thank you!

dragonfly-I''m the same. I try and do a little bit every day and with a big retriever who always wants walkies, she makes me feel guilty if I skip one!

Steph

I knew everything would be fine. Thrilled to hear that. Well done on being down 3lbs also!

Dee*Jay-that''s definitely something that I would have done-I always forget food when I make it up to bring to college!

Marcy-hope that your low cal pizza was tasty! That''s what I had for my treat last night-the thought of it was nearly better than the pizza itself. I think that I''d built it up too much. Glad to hear that Marty is doing better.

Rod-that''s brilliant news about the interview! I hope that this is the job for you! I told D about the movie-he wasn''t quite so into the nudity
3.gif
Thanks for the Woohoo on the weightloss!!

Monarch-keeping my fingers crossed for you and your DH for the interviews!

Phoenix-I agree with Rod, I''d get checked out just to be on the safe side. I''m sure everythings good though. Hope you''ve recovered from your cold.

Talk to you all later! Have a good Wednesday!

Morning WWTers!

The tacos were good and we saw The Glass Menagerie. The actors who played Amanda and Tom were fantastic; I thought the woman who played Laura missed the mark, but John thought she was good.

Rod, Monnie, Charlie, Mr. Monnie, still sending job finding dust your way. The budget crisis in CA means no jobs for teachers, so I sorta know what you''re feeling.

Skip, I''d love to see a picture of the PJs you''re making.

CJ, thanks for the encouragement! My cooperating teacher is great, and I''m less than 8 weeks away from graduating. Can''t wait!

After school I''m going to visit the family I babysit for. I haven''t seen them in quite some time and was missing them so am going to go play this afternoon. Hopefully we''ll get some exercise in.

Have a great day!

Steph, so glad your appointment went well!!

Just a quick morning checkin...........

Still not sure if I have an interview next week or not. We keep playing phone tag, and haven''t actually spoken directly. BUT.....they want to know what my salary requirements are and I need to be evasive. Plus, they don''t want to make it easy and just say what they''re hoping to pay. I used to make a LOT of money. And I know I won''t make the kind of money I was making, so I simply gave them my salary history and said I did not want my previous income level to get in the way of a good opportunity. So, now I have to wait and see if I gave the right answer..........Agggggghhhhhhh.

Otherwise, it''s another fabulous day in paradise. We''ll be having lunch soon, then heading out to enjoy coffee under the oak, then the gym this afternoon for sure.

Kimberly, I hope the budget crisis in California doesn''t hurt your chances of a good teaching opportunity. Have fun with the family this afternoon!

Glad the exam went OK bee*

Thanks for the lilacs Marcy! Sorry they make you sneeze........

Thanks Monnie. I hope there''s a good reason for this insanity in our lives. I guess time will tell, but I have to believe we''ll all come through this well. At least I pray we will.

I''ll check in later. Have a great day all!

Rod
Awesome work out! How do you do it!?!

Well Last night''s plan was ruined, our boat started spilling oil out of no where, so my excercise was climbing up down in around and all over the boat to work on fixing it with SO LOL. I did 30 mins walking this morning. Tonight I have to teach a riding lesson, which gives me some more walking, and I plan to do alternates again and some sculpting moves while Idol is on.

I walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes during lunch today. Oh and I was reading Shape magazine while walking, they had some great veggie pizza recipes, only problem the website just has the grocery list and no prep, so I have to actually go out and buy the magazine.

Also before my workout I weighed myself (last weighin was 3/13). lbs down from 125.6 to 124, and bodyfat slightly up from 18.5 to 18.9 and thats probably b/c i wasn''t very active last week.

Hi, all.

Just stopping by to say I''m still here. JT is really sick again. This is the second time he''s had Rotavirus. The first time was almost exactly a year ago. I blamed it on a disturbingly dirty highchair at a restaurant. We never returned to the restaurant obviously. A few days ago we went to a new restaurant, and my sis put JT in a highchair. I got that "dirty" feeling again and removed him from the chair and sat him in the booth with me. I''m nearly positive that he picked it up there. Both of the suspect restaurants are well known chains so it really bugs me.

On the upside, I received a swimsuit that I ordered online. and...I look hot in it! At least that''s the general consensus among my DH, sis, and best friend. I know my form of hotness is not the thin-athletic-tan-beauty--more the pasty white-chunky-midwesterner, but I''m okay with that! It''s been a very long time since I felt like I could be in public in a swimsuit. YAY yoga!

bye for now.

Hi all; I met up with some friends for lunch today. It was nice to see my girlfriends! It is super warm out here; I am going to have to get my dh to turn on the airconditioning. One of my friends gave me passes to go up the tram for hubby and my anniversary coming up so I am excited to use it!

Muslce hour was good last night and I got to run into the weight room and do a few extra things. I feel good and I am loving eating more healthy like more spinach, broccoli, tomatoes and other veggies now that things are in season!!

Well have a wonderful day all you wonderful WWT friends!
35.gif

ETA: Somethingshiny, hope JT feels better soon; poor little guy. Yay for looking fab in a swimsuit, whoooohoooooooo!!!!!

Rod, and Monnie sending good interview vibes your way my sweeties and something good will come along soon!!! Monnie is your friend down w/the kitchen???

Steph, I wish curtains were cheaper to make; sewing I think tends to be a little more expensive; I guess because you have to special order material and the pattern and little things just add up. You should do more sewing; if you can find material on sale that is when it is great but in class we had a discussion that it tends to be a little pricier than walking into JCPenny's or something like that. Bee, happy studying sweetie pie!!!

Hey Lorelei and Phx!!!

Apple, yay for your workout and losing weight!!!

I have my yearly exam in a few weeks so I''ll be sure to mention things to the doctor. I think I''m still losing fat and gaining muscle, hence the stasis in weight. My stomach looks flatter to me and my thighs look smaller than they have even in recent months.

I definitely want to be healthy; that''s why I began working out in the first place.

I realized last night that I don''t crash at the end of the day like I used to. I would come home from work and be too pooped to do anything. I never feel like that now. I feel like I would be up for a walk somewhere or a bike ride or anything at the drop of a hat. So that''s a nice bonus of being in shape: being able to enjoy life more on a consistent basis.

Gotta go for now but I''ll check back soon to catch up on everybody.

Hey, guys...had quite a busy day today. Took Andrew to the library for story time, then to the park to play for a couple of hours with some other kids. It was a beautiful day. Then we got a quick bite for lunch and I went to home depot and got a kitchen design book to get ideas. I''m about to make some whole wheat pasta for dinner and when Adam walks in the door, I am off to do the elliptical. Hope everyone is doing well!

DeeJay, thanks for the curtains website, I will have to take a look but think I have found just what I need at Pottery Barn and on sale too! Woohoo!

Marcy, Your pizza sounds great. I have not ever tried making pizza homemade, but I really should!

Rod, Good job on the great workout yesterday. Your scone from Panera sounds so yummy, I love scones and I love anything with cherry! Good luck on getting an interview with the company that keeps calling you.

Monnie, good luck on your working interview this Friday. I think it will be a great way to check out the company and get a feel for things.

Phoenix, sorry you have been under the weather. Hope you get to feeling better.

CJ, love the shoes. I usually get NB too b/c they seem to have a lot of cushion.

Bee, glad the exam went well.

Kimi, glad you enjoyed the show!

Lorelei, thank you for the well wishes, I am very relieved!

Dragonfly, I try to do strenth training when AI is on too to make it go by faster!

Apple, I love Shape. I have a subscription, but it just ran out so I need to sign up again. Def. lots of good tips.

SS, sorry your son is sick and yea for looking hot!!

Skippy, sounds like you had a great day. Enjoy the sunshine! I think I founds some curtains that will work from Pottery Barn on sale, so yeah they are probably less ready made when they are on sale (but I still wish I was talented enough to make my own!)

Hi Everyone,
I fell off the wagon for a bit, as we got kinda busy over the weekend and then I lost my momentum for a minute. But today I went to the gym with a friend and had a good workout- yay! And I have plans to go to the gym again tomorrow.

Sounds like everyone is doing well- Good job guys! Hope the job interviews go well for monnie and rod!
SomethingShiny, sorry your little one is sick- thats a drag and causes a lot of stress I think.
Apple - that must feel good seeing the scale go down-
Marcy I''m gonna go back and read what you wrote for the beginning of the week so I can get reinspired- thank you ahead of time!
Everyone else I missed keep up the good work and thanks for being a good example for me!
Have a great night!

Hey.......The rest of our day was exactly as planned. Lunch at home, followed by coffee under the oak (and we split another scone too!). Then Charlie went to the gym, while I came home and did some job board surfing (nothing much new today) and finally hit the gym around 3:30. I usually do my core exercises for the first 20 minutes, then I start mixing it up with weights, alternating legs and upper body. I always do at least 60 pushups each session. And today was no exception. I've been working really hard on doing my pushups in the best possible form. So, this much younger (and in really great shape) guy walked up to me after I had just completed my pushups and asked me how many I had just done. I told him I did 60 and he said that he had been watching me do them and thought I had terrific form. I think he said, text book perfect to be exact. I know it's just a compliment, but at 53 years old, it really made me feel good! It helped to fuel a very strong and productive workout that lasted till after 6 PM! Charlie made meatloaf, steamed carrot and sweet potato for dinner (YUMM). Then since it was such a beautiful evening we dropped the top on my car and headed back to Sbucks to have a cup of decaf under the oak. No dessert tonight, as we had enough calories with the scone earlier. But it was just glorious outside tonight. Then we came home and watched the American Idol elminiation. I was very surprised and disappointed that Carly Smithson was eliminated tonight. She has an incredible voice and is a super talented young lady. bee*, she's from Ireland! For whatever reason though, she hasn't connected with the audience this season, like some of the other contestants. Oh well, she's an amazing talent and will be VERY successful going forward for sure.

Dragon, when I started Rebuild Rod 2.5 years ago, I certainly couldn't do the type of workout I can today. I've just built up strength and stamina I never thought possible. And remember, I do it pretty religiously 5 days a week. The body is an amazing machine and the more you push it, the more it adapts and not only get's used to it, but craves it! Thanks for the kudos! Sorry about the boat. We used to own a boat (a Boston Whaler) up to about 3 years ago. I truly believe the old saying......which says "the two happiest days in a boater's life are the day he get's the boat AND the day he sells the boat!" For me, selling the boat was more exciting than getting it..........LOL

Good for you using the treadmill on your lunch break Apple and for losing more weight too!

Sorry JT is sick again SS. Yay for looking hot in your new swimsuit though!

I'm glad you had fun with your friends at lunch Skippy. Super warm and the A/C's not on yet? Oh my.......Of course in Florida, our A/C virtually never goes off. Glad you enjoyed muscle hour and for working in some weights too! Are you still taking the Glucosamine and Chondroitin? Has it helped you? I take it and think it does good things for my joints.

Phoenix, I'm sure you're in picture perfect health. And I'm betting you are still losing fat and gaining muscle too! Plus, I've read that the body continues to burn fat at a higher pace during periods of less activity that are preceded by periods of heavy activity. Still, it's a good idea to mention things to the Dr. Isn't it amazing how workng out can increase your endurance altogether! I have waaaaay more energy than I've ever had in my life and I know I owe it all to exercise!

Sounds like you and Andrew had a fun day Steph! If you have a Panera near you, you should definitely try a Tart Cherry Scone. SO GOOD! After I left the lady a message about the answer to her salary expectation question, I didn't hear anything back. But, she said she'd be tied up in meetings all day, so hopefully I'll hear tomorrow.

Pave, we all fall off the wagon from time to time. But you got yourself back up and went back to the gym, so YAYAY for you!

OK, enough from me. My posts are just too long (but very therapeutic for me to write). We need Mara back from her Vegas trip to help balance out my overly long diatribes.........LOL

Sleep well everyone

Hi everyone. I hope you are having a great day. Marty went to Denver tonight to a concert so I went out and walked around the mall. I had 2 corn shell tacos and a junior dish of frozen yogurt for supper.
Lorelei, I hope you are having a great day. Are you getting some nice spring days there?
Bee, glad to hear you did okay on your exam. I hate when your expectations of food doesn’t live up to reality. Popcorn is like that for me; it always smells better than it tastes.
Kimi, the last 8 weeks of school will probably zip by for you. I am down to only 3 weeks of my spring semester. Have fun visiting with the kids today.
Rod, I think your answer on salary requirement is wonderful. I am glad you had another lovely day. That is so awesome people take notice of how in shape you are while working out. I am sure you inspire many of them to strive to work harder than they were before.
Dragonfly, sorry to hear you had problems with your boat. It does sound like some good exercise though.
Appletini, congratulations on loosing more weight.
Somethingshiny, sorry to hear JT is sick. How aggravating restaurants don’t keep high chairs clean. Yay for getting a new bathing suit and looking great in it.
Skippy, riding the tram sounds fun. When is your anniversary? How many years? I think sewing is more expensive than buying clothes, etc. but if it’s something you enjoy doing it is kind of fun. Many fabric stores have sales including great deals on patterns. I actually take an extra shirt with me when we go out of town just in case I get something on my shirt when we eat.
PhoenixGirl, that is wonderful to hear you have energy after working all day.
Steph, you did have a busy day. I am sure spending time in the park on such a beautiful day was fun.
Pavelover, yay for being back on the wagon. Lorelei starts out our week with great inspirational topics but I hope some things I say help too.
Take care.
