I did a 5 mile walk!!! I think I had to make for 2 days w/o a walk.

I think I am just suffering from bad sinus's. I took a decongestant and it is helping; I also took cold eeze just in case too. Thanks all for the good advice; you all rock! I went to lunch with a friend at a sandwich place I use to frequent. This time I ate half my sandwich and boxed the other half for dinner!

Chrono, I talked to my friend about her Volvo and she said it is good in a little snow, but the low clearance makes it hard to drive in heavy snow. Another friend of ours bought the new Subaru and loves it. Hope that helps!

Steph, how was yours and Andrew's day??

Rod, thaks for the good wishes friend; you always put a BIG smile on my face. hehee Where are you eating tonight? Hope you have fun w/your pals!!

Kimi, DeeJay and Monnie, please please take pics for us; I would love to see a pic of you lovely ladys!!!!

Kimi, thanks for the feel better wishes! I am glad you had a good day! I can't wait to hear all about your trip; enjoy the boss!!

Hey Monnie, don't work too hard!

Mara, when do you leave? Very exciting!!! I hope Portia is okay; that does not sound fun. Do they make doggie benadryl?? Poor baby. Mara, glad you are feeling better!

Hey Marcy! Yay for clothes getting baggy again. Target and Kmart have cute inexpensive clothes. Thanks for the get well wishes.

Happy Anniversary Jas!!!!!

I hear you on not wanting to go back to wedding planning. hehee Brides never think they are bridezillas but all usually have a bridezilla moment. heeeheee Okay, I remember when I was 23 and my hubby told me something that has stayed w/me forever. Adults never grow up! That parent was insane; you are gorgeous (I know because I have seen pics)!! I love love love tea!

Linda, hope you are feeling better and we are proud of you being a size 8! Whoo hooo!

Shortblonde, yay for a good walk for a good cause tomorrow; sound like you are doing well. Yay for being thin!

Sarah, oh tsavorites are gorgeous! Yay for your walk w/hubby! I think I just have bad sinus issues; I am taking cold eeze just in case, thanks!

DeeJay, Yay for walking 4 miles; that is great! I hope your office pony's up a very good offer; nice! Glad you hubby will be home soon.

Mrs. Salvo, have a good hike tomorrow!!!

Have a lovely evening all

Dee*Jay, this cracked me up: ''TanDogMom, every once in a while you need to go to a fair and eat some crap!'' You obviously don''t have the same kind of fairs I grew up with...
LOL, say the word "fair" and I can practically taste those funnel cakes!

jas - vampire? what is wrong with people??? then again brad pitt was a vampire once and as i recall he was a very hot looking vampire, so you''re in good company. i have a recipe for lower cal/fat veggie dip made with cottage cheese that is guilt free. i love veggies and dip!

mara - enjoy your trip to mexico. i''m sure your training sessions have paid off and you look fab in your bikini.

marcy - more weight lost??? wohoo! that''s the best excuse i have ever heard for shopping.

i am still sore from my workout weds. night so i am stoked about continuing on with the workout routine it b/c it''s obviously working some areas that need it. i took a half day off today from work and subsequently took a day off from the gym, too. my sister bought me a new triathlon book and i am diving into that tonite to figure out my strategy for giving one of those a shot next year. today was pretty light food wise - bran flakes, half a chipotle bol, and a huge greens salad with black beans, grilled chicken, corn, and a little cheese with just a little ranch to dip my fork into. I am having a beer for dessert. Oh and I had a baked apple for a snack that i made in the microwave. tomorrow i am going to do another workout i got from that trainer and i get my car back (i fixed it so i can trade it in when i decide what to buy).

have a great friday evening!

evening all! well workday is over and it''s vacation time for the most part for us though i will do some last emails tomorrow morning. i have a hair appt and mani pedi tomorrow hehee. then have to be sure all laundry is done and get ourselves packed up. i just called to add international roaming service to my cell phone so we won''t be totally sans communication while on vacation.

as somewhat expected, today was hit and miss for food, fridays at work typically are!! i went to lunch with my coworkers for a birthday, many times i won''t go for various reasons (mostly because i don''t really eat out during the weekdays for lunch anymore) but today i went because they were going to dim sum which i love at this one place, and it''s been like 8 months since i''ve been there! so it was quite tasty, we typically got mostly fairly healthy items like steamed shrimp dumplings, though i did eat two steamed pork buns which i LOVE...i could just eat those. and we had to wait forever for the cart to come by with the pork buns so by the time they did come by we all fell on them like vultures! and we had chinese broccoli which is verra tasty. so overall not bad. then we had birthday cake, this amazing vietnamese style one which is super light fluffy white cake with fruit inside and fruit on top and whipped cream. and had various candy items throughout the day...someone had a pinata with candy in it too hehe. after work went to the gym and did 10 minute warmup on the elliptical and then about 25 minutes of arm weights and circuit training mixed with some heart rate rising cardio (jumping jacks, jumping rope in between the sets). my arms were burning when done which is a good thing right? hehee. i was afraid i''d overdone it but i feel okay now. dinner was takeout from the lobstah shack which is like my new fave place...we got naked lobster rolls and steamed veggies and a bowl of chunky fat(tening) clam chowder. i couldn''t tell if the liquid the veggies were kind of in was just steamed veggie water or butter. it didn''t quite taste like either. i also had some steamed cauliflower sans any additions. then for dessert we shared the leftover cupcakes from yesterday but i just ate the top again of the chocolate buttercream one hehee.

anyway tomorrow morning at 8am i have a trainer appt, i''ll ask to do legs since my arms are practically like rubber. and i plan to get a nice long walk in tomorrow afternoon as well. there will be no ''workout'' on sunday as we''ll be traveling all day. but yay our hotel has a full gym supposedly (though not sure what that means...maybe a recumbent bike from the 1950s?)...so i can''t wait to try it out and work out with greg on vacation. we can probably do daily workouts which seems more fun when you are on vacation hehee. and a lot of laying around in the pool with drinkie poos. who knows if that bikini will still fit after the week, hahahaa.

sounds like everyone had a great day...happy friday all.

Hi. My astronomy program went well tonight.
1.gif
We had store cookies instead of homemade so it was easy to only eat one.
Sarah, pretty ring and pretty tsavorites in your ring. I love garnets. Yay for a nice walk with your husband. Thanks for the tips on baggy clothes; I am pretty cold all the time so I figure I’ll have tons of things to layer this winter. Congratulations for getting rid of those bigger clothes forever!
DeeJay, it is amazing how quickly those calories can add up. Good for you walking 4 miles today. That is nice to someone else is willing to pay you well. My mom and sisters are all great seamstresses; I can sew too but don’t really have the time or desire. I know my mom would do it for me no problem but I hate to ask her. She did alter some tops for me last year and they worked great; pants almost have to be completely altered to fit well.
Skippy, glad to hear the pills are helping. Yay for walking 5 miles. I went to Kohl’s again tonight after my meeting and bought some long sleeve tshirts for about $7 and a sweater for $15.
Tdiddy, thanks for encouraging me to shop; like I need an excuse. Good idea to continue on the workout routine that appears to be working for you. I hope you get over being sore soon.
Mara, glad you got to have a nice lunch with the office before taking off on your vacation. Have a great day tomorrow with your trainer and walk. Have a wonderful vacation.
Well, I am cold and yawning so I am going to bed. I hope to sleep in tomorrow.

skippy, I thought you yesterday when one of the mom''s from the school asked me if i wanted to meet her after drop off to go for a walk and then take our 3 year olds to the playground for a bit. I has already walked in the early morning with Zoe but thought sure, it''d be fun to do a short walk around the neighborhood to chat and sit and watch the kids play. well....3 miles later we got to the playground. she loves to do her special *loop* that makes a 5 block walk to the playgound turn into 3 miles. unexpected but wonderful and we''re going to do it again next week. I''m going to into a "skippy" walking machine

sorry i don''t have time to post to the rest of you individually but i hope you all have a wonderful sat.

off to hike magic mountain!!

Funnel cakes.... yum.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I got in a 7 mile run yesterday (my back felt better) and was hoping to do 8 or 9 but it got dark and I didn''t feel safe. Followed that up with some INdian food so I''m sure I ate back the calories I burned!

Rod, you weren''t being too argumentative! :) Hey, if we all had the same opinion, we''d all be driving the same boring beige car down the road, right? I''m sure I will be picking your brain more when we get closer to buying and for now we can all live vicariously through Monarch!

Mara, I am jealous you are off to mexico! Have a blast!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

morning all!! i am up and way too chipper being as i just got back from the trainer where we did legs til i almost cried. perfect because now i can be nice and sore on the plane tomorrow hehe. ate 1/2 an apple before i went off to the trainer, and now am enjoying egg whites, a bit of 2% cheese, and a sprouted wheat toast slice with light butter. and coffee of course!!

then i'm off to my appts and to run some errands. hopefully i can check in tonite befoe we hit the sack...i love going on vacation but i don't relish all the prep that has to happen beforehand at all. i feel like i am still trying to kick this fledgling cold, but i feel okay for the most part. just tired at night. so it will be nice to relax a bit in mexico. we're not taking our laptops after all but at least our phones will work hehe.

thanks everyone for our vacation well wishes!! we're looking fwd to a fabulous time. i know you guys will get in some great activity while we're gone hehe, as is typical for the wonderful people on here and how diligent you all are. it makes it easy to check in knowing there's such inspiring work going on.

anyhow, happy saturday all, enjoy yourselves!

Hi. Happy Saturday. I lost 2/10 of a pound putting me at minus 130. Woo hoo!
36.gif
Then of course I had a chocolate frosted cake donut for breakfast. See what that Krispy Kreme donut earlier this week did to me? I meet my parents for coffee on Saturday morning at a great local donut shop. All that sugar sure gave me a BUZZ. I’ll be able to work faster today on my chores and errands. I am meeting my parents for lunch today so plan on getting a large steak so I can bring most of it home for sandwiches this week.
MrsSalvo, I hope you had a great hike to Magic Mountain today.
TanDogMom, I was happy to hear your back is better and yay for such a long run but good idea to quit before dark.
Mara, your leg workout must have been a great one. Have a safe and great trip.
Have a great day! See you later.

Morning All!

John and I went on a nice walk yesterday afternoon, I had a quesadilla for dinner and then kidsat. We washed my car, jumped on the trampoline and watched Spongebob, two out of three activites involved physical activity, not too shabby!

Today I''m going shopping for jeans and doing as much school work as possible.

DeeJay, lets meet in the lobby of the Hilton Garden Inn on Grand at 9:30 on Tuesday. I know what you look like, I''ll post what I''ll be wearing on Monday if that would be helpful to you. You''ve probably seen a few pictures of me, my hair is darker now, with some red in it , I typically wear it wavy/curly, and I wear blue/green rectangular shaped glasses.

Jas, I know you can''t join us, Monnie is Tuesday a work day for you?

Hi, everyone! Sorry I didn''t check in yesterday but I had a hair catastophy that lasted all day (and is continuing today)! I have been getting highlights in my naturally dark blonde hair for years and years, but I got it in my mind that I wanted a change for the winter, so I told the lady at the salon I want to go darker, but still with a few highlights....I even showed her a picture of what I wanted. Well, she dyed my hair way too dark and then proceeded to add in bright blonde highlights...I totally looked like a skunk! I just kept telling myself to keep it together and not cry and I explained to her that I didn''t like the look so then she put this toner on, and I swear when I got home, I saw orange steaks! Soooo, I was so freaked out at this point, I went to the drug store to try to get some semi-permenate color to tone it down and all that did was make it worse. So in a few hours, I am going to drop a load of money to get my hair color corrected and try to get it back to a normal person''s color. Ahh, I am so sad....I should have just kept it the way it was. My little Andrew said, "daddy who is that lady" when I walked in the door yesterday with my sunglasses still on! Anyway, I was so sick over looking like freak that I didn''t eat much....I did get up this morning and ran 2 miles (with a baseball cap on though)! Anyway, hope everyone is having a great weekend and I''ll check in later!

Oh Steph, I am so sorry about your hair. I have super shiny dark hair and people tell me nice things about it and 2 times I tried to change the color and both times it was a debacle. I am sorry; can you get the salon to pay for it? I had something similar happen where I wanted highlights and they put platinum blonde streaks in when I wanted dark brown/red. What did your hubby think, maybe it isn't too bad??

DeeJay, I took my hubby computer shopping. I found a few that he thinks would be good for me so I will keep you posted. We stopped at Staples and Costco so by the end of the week I probably will buy something.

Tdiddy, yay for a great workout and being sore! Sounds like you are eating healthy yummy foods.

Mara, don't get sick; sending healing vibes!!! YAY FOR MEXICO!!!!! I will miss you and don't take your computer if you can. Enjoy your time off!!!

Marcy, yippee for new Kohl's clothes. It is funny if dessert isn't homemade I won't eat it so I hear ya on not wanting store bought cookies. Marcy, please send over toward New Mexico the magic weight loss dust. hehee Great job on minus 130!!

Mrs. Salvo, you are so sweet and thoughtful I could just hug you. I am glad you did the special loop; that is cool! I love my special loops; we even have a playground near by too. Yay for being a Mrs. Salvo walking machine; I feel walking is so relaxing even though I get my heartrate up. Something about the fresh air and the views.
3.gif
You are such a fit preggo; awesome!!! I bet the baby is loving you for it. Are the girls still saying their prayers for a girl: that is the cutest thing ever (I love it)!!! hehee

Gail, step away from the funnel cake. hehe Gosh, I am sure a little bit of funnel cake won't hurt you on those 7 mile runs! Wow, you are super woman runner there! I am impressed; how long have you been running? Cool! Gail, at my work 3 partners of the firm have G35's and love them; I rode in one and thought it was nice. The funny thing is now I noticed other friends liking/own them; I think they are cool looking! I do like me a bemmer too though. hehee

Kimi and Dee, I am so jealous (in a good way you get to meet). I would love to meet you guys irl; you both are so upbeat and happy go lucky!! Yay!

Rod, I tried to watch your vampire thing because you rock but I couldn't. I watched the Woman's Murder Club instead; me thinks I am too scared of vampires. hehee I will think of you tomorrow of DHW and Mrs. Salvo too! Hope you had a fab dinner w/your friends!

Okay, confession time, while I was looking at laptops w/hubby at costco and we were both hungry. We ended up each eating a slice of pizza
11.gif
. A churro was calling me too but I resisted; it was tough lemme tell ya! I wanted to resist the pizza but it wasn't happening. Well, on a good note hubby is cooking up a lovely smelling chicken and veggie soup. I will get in a long walk as the weather is in the 70's and so beautiful! My sinus's are getting better thank goodness. Big hug all and have a happy go lucky Saturday!!!!

Hey, Skippy...you are too sweet for the words of encouragement on my hair....hubby says "it''s not that bad", but I think it is! I went to the color specialist and he said he can def. get me back to blonde, but he would need a lot more time than they scheduled me for today, so I''m going back tomorrow and hopefully he will fix it! Don''t feel bad about the pizza....we went and had pizza today too. I think you have to indulge sometimes or you will binge or at least, that would happen to me.

DeeJay
...thanks for the heads up on the LC spa meals at Costco...we actually just signed up there so I will have to stock up.

Mara...have a great time in Mexico

Have a great night everyone!

Happy Saturday all! The HH is toiling away in the kitchen; we are having homemade potato gnocchis with a creamy gorgonzola and pancetta sauce... YUM! I was not particularly motivated to go to the gym until I saw what he had lined up on the counter. Cream, cheese, ham, potatos... Just back from 65 mins on the elliptical LOL.

Steph, they also have LC paninis in a 4 pack at Costco. They aren't bad; the "club sandwich" version is I think 320 cals, and the chicken, spinich and mushroom one is only 280. And sorry about your hair. Don't worry though--they can correct most anything.

Stephi, can't wait to see how your computer search comes out! I am not sure I really *need* a laptop but I'm definitely leaning in that direction.

Kimi, I only see one Hilton Garden Inn listed downtown and it's at 10 E. Grand. If that NOT where you're going to be let me know, otherwise I'll just see you there at 9:30 on Tuesday.

Marcy, I love that you can eat donuts and still lose weight! You are SUCH an inspiration!!

Mara, hope you have a WONDERFUL vacation!

TanDogMom, I LOVE Indian food. The chicken tikki masala (sp?) at the place only two blocks from me is to die for. I get carry out from there *a lot*...

Mrs. S., LOL on becoming a Skippy walking machine!

tdiddy, how do you make the baked apples in the microwave?

DeeJay, I am sooooo jealous of what you are eating for dinner.
11.gif
18.gif
YUMMMMM! I just get to eat stinkin chicken stew. hehee Okay, I will keep you posted; I want an imac since everyone is making a good arguement for one but I can''t justify spending $2k so I might just get an HP.

Steph, oh goodie that it can be fixed. See I knew it didn''t look that bad; we are our worst critics. hehee Okay, I won''t feel bad since I know sweet Steph ate pizza too!
2.gif
I agree you need to indulge every once in awhile. Steph, I love Costco! They have wonderful chicken noodle soup, in the summer I love their fresh fruit, their clothes, just about everything! You will enjoy shopping there; I love buying books there because it is so inexpensive.

I felt bad about the big slice of pizza so I walked 5 miles. I am pooped out! Have a lovely evening all! Kimi and Mara have a safe trip

Don''t explode until after we meet, DeeJay. You have the correct address, it''s the Hilton connected with Weber Grille. I''ll have my laptop so if you need to cancel just post here. So looking forward to meeting you!!!

Skippy, I wish you lived in Chicago, or better yet I wish you were my neighbor. We''d be buddies and walk around the lake. Thanks for the safe trip wishes. I''ve never had Costco Pizza but love the store/warehouse. It originated in SD as Price Club and some people still refer to it as such, so funny.

John made wheat pasta w/ red sauce for dinner, he was trying to clean out the fridge before we leave. It was yummy. I''m sleepy but need to finish packing.

Have a great evening all. I''ll probably check in (and am bringing my camera for pictures with DeeJay, I can''t wait to meet her and check out the ring!).

Wow, that should teach me for not checking in for a day and a half. You've been a busy group of WWT'ers for sure!! We didn't get in until after 11 PM last night and I just couldn't muster the energy to log on. Today, we've just been super busy, so this is my first chance since Thrusday evening to get caught up.

If it's not too late, Mara...I hope you and Greg have a fabulous trip to Mexico. Be careful. Montezuma's revenge is real (I've had it) and a major fun ender.

Jas, if the kid's comment about you being a vampire wasn't odd enough (who knows what goes in the heads of children, righ?), but I really question what value the parent had for even telling you such a thing??? You did land in the twilight zone at that school for sure........

Kimberly, I'm not sure when you and John are heading to Chicago, so if this is premature, sorry, but have a great time and I know from PERSONAL PLEAURE, you'll have a terrifc time with DeeJay and Bill for sure. I wish Charlie and I could join you guys too!

Oh Skippy, I don't think you should worry to much about having one slice of pizza (said the guy who is afraid to eat pizza altogether). You walk enough that the calories will be burned off quickly. And that's OK that you missed my Friday night vampire show. I missed it too, but I did Tivo it, so we'll see it sometime this weekend.

Thanks for letting me know I wasn't too argumentative Gail. I think the world of you, and would never try to hurt your feelings. Honest!

If I've missed anyone else, my apologies, it's just a lot of posts to go through quickly.

It appears the moon still orbits the earth and the earth still orbits the sun, so we can have something besides Sushi on a Friday night and the universe won't explode. We had a really nice time with our friends. Dinner was great, and we sat outside on the patio and saw the most beautiful sunset. Followed by Frozen Yogurt (we turned them on to the yogurt some time ago, so no they're hooked like we are), then we sat under the oak tree and enjoyed a nice long visit and coffee.

This morning we had our regular routine, breakfast on the terrace, then some shopping, lunch, coffee at Starbucks (which reminds me......Yes Jas, we are addicted to caffeine!) and finally a really good long workout at the gym. I was a bit energized and wound up doing a bit more than usual, but it felt good (though I'm somewhat sore tonight). Then just to make sure the universe would hold up, we had our Friday night sushi tonight. Our waitress was so happy to see us that she ran from the back and kept hugging us and told us we were not to mess with Friday night again. She said that everytime the door opened last night, she looked for us and we never came and she was sad, but since we came tonight she was happy (well I wrote that a bit better than her broken English permitted, but you get the idea). She's so sweet. We actually thought about calling last night to have them tell Pau Pau (her real name) we couldn't make it. Maybe if we miss another Friday, we'll do that. LOL Of course we finished the evening with coffee at Sbucks again. It was a cooler evening tonight, which was very nice.

We'll have a regular Sunday. Breakfast will be aTart Cherry Scone (yep that's still my Sunday morning treat) and a fresh bowl of fruit, with coffee of course. We 'burr' gring our coffee fresh each time, so it's just like getting it at a good coffee shop. We'll have our normal Sunday workout and I'll likely do an even harder one since Monday is a day out of the gym.

Anyway, I've rambled enough. Sorry if I missed anyone. Sounds like everyone is having a good and healthy time!

Hi everyone.
35.gif
I had a busy day. Spent some time with my mom to help her plan a B-Day party for my dad next month. Then I walked around the mall and several stores. We have snow coming tonight so I hope to stay home and be warm tomorrow. I even had time to knit.
Kimberly, yay for your exercise; I thought of washing my car today but it was too windy here. Have fun in Chicago.
Steph, I am so sorry to hear about your hair. I hope they can get it back to a shade you like. I would think the salon should be trying to fix it for free. I ended up with Ronald McDonald color orange hair about 15 years ago. I used summer blonde and dried my hair out in the sun and it started turning copper orange. I put on more summer blonde and it just got worse. I tried to get it dyed back to my normal blonde and the copper came through. They had to bleach my hair to get fix it.
Skippy, I keep eyeing the pink vaio’s; my DH just shakes his head. I had a vaio as my first laptop but I dropped it a few times and broke off some of the connections inside. D’oh! Then I bought a Toshiba but thought it was too big and heavy (DH has it now). Now i have a Dell Inspiron. I agree if you are going to eat dessert it should be homemade. I am sending weight loss vibes your way – lots of them. A piece of pizza won’t hurt you girl. Sometimes you just have to eat pizza. Good for you walking 5 miles tonight.
DeeJay, I have a laptop and love it. I use it all the time. I don’t always eat donuts I just had 2 this week; I haven’t had one for months and months. Thanks for saying I’m an inspiration. I definitely believe it’s all about the calories and portion control. LOL about exploding - sure hope you don''t.
Kimberly, I can’t wait to see pictures and hear about your meeting with DeeJay. That will be so awesome.
Rod, it sounds like you are having a great weekend. I think it’s so cute Pau Pau worries about you guys. I am glad the universe didn’t explode.
Take care. Have a great Sunday!

Stephi, can''t wait to see how your computer search comes out! I am not sure I really *need* a laptop but I''m definitely leaning in that direction.

Kimi, I only see one Hilton Garden Inn listed downtown and it''s at 10 E. Grand. If that NOT where you''re going to be let me know, otherwise I''ll just see you there at 9:30 on Tuesday.

Mrs. S., LOL on becoming a Skippy walking machine!

tdiddy, how do you make the baked apples in the microwave?
probably my only culinary "ability" is using a microwave....LOL.

you take an apple, slice a few thin lines vertically in the skin with a knife to keep the skin from bursting, core it (or at least dig out the top core part so you have a "ditch" at the top, spread a thin layer of butter (I just use the low cal/low fat spray butter stuff and spray it inside the core 1 time), sprinkle a tiny bit of sugar and a lot of cinnamon on it, and put it in a microwave safe dish covered loosely with saran wrap. you nuke the apple ~4 minutes and it''s finished. delicious.

you can also stuff the core with things like nutmeg, raisins, walnuts, marshmellows, brown sugar, whatever....

you can also do a bunch in a larger dish all at once, i just usually nuke those like 7-9 minutes. you can tell when they are finished pretty easily. depending on how firm you like your baked apple you can adjust the time accordingly.

it''s a pretty healthy dessert and totally reminds me of warm apple pie, which i love, without the fattening crust.

Tdiddy, thank you for info on making a baked apple in the microwave. It sounds great. I tired a Mrs Smith 100 calories apple crisp dessert tonight and it was pretty good. I will have to try a baked apple.

Thanks guys for the encouragent on my hair....almost every woman I know has had some kind of hair disaster in their lifetime, I know it is not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. I go in about 3 hours to have him fix it so wish me luck!!
Tdiddy, I need to try the apple recipe, it sounds so good!
Marcy, congrats on your awesome weight loss....you should be so proud of your accomplishment! How close are you to your goal? It seems the close I get, the harder it is to lose!
Skippy, I know what you mean about Costco...it is awesome. It might be bad for me though...we just go in there for a few things and come out with $200 worth of stuff! They do have great deals on books....I think I am going to go look for some new cookbooks there!
Have a great day everyone

We did have some snow last night but it is just slushy not icy. Our high is predicted to be 36 today. I am going to have a waffle with strawberries and fat free cool whip for BF. Later today I am going to make some cheeseburger logs with 96% lean hamburger and some type of potatoes. That way I can have some lunches and dinner for the week.

Steph, good luck getting your hair fixed today. My hairdresser was telling me about something she was really angry about while giving me a perm one time and she butchered my hair. My husband''s comment when I got home was "are you mad?". Thank you for the knid words about my weight loss. I want to loose at least 45 more pounds (get to 145 pounds) and I know as I go along; the closer I get the longer it will take to loose pounds. I may want to loose more but I''ll have to see when I get there.

Costco vs Sam''s Club? Which one is better? We have a Sam''s Club here but I''ve never been to Costco. Just wondering.

Have a great day!

Marcyc, 129 pounds, that is so incredibly wonderful! Kudos!

Kimberly, I''m glad your scale budged another bit! You deserve it!

TanDogMom, wow, even your rest day sounds very active! Good for you!

Linda_W, size 8, you go girl!

Shortblonde, a charity walk is a great way to spend a weekend day. Good exercise too!

I''m proud of myself because I upped my jogging to 3 miles today. I have been having a hard time just going 2 miles recently, so while 2 miles is always my minimum goal, I was hoping to go 2.5 today, but when I hit the 1/4 mile mark in my third lap when I would have turned around, I thought I''d just keep going and make it 3 even. And I felt stronger than I''ve felt recently.

I''m impressed that I feel strong because DH and I went on a tour of some vineyards yesterday with our wine club (complete with a limo ride). It lasted from 10 to about 7, so there was a lot of drinking (I definitely drank the least of anyone except the limo driver, hee hee) and munching. DH and I ddin''t really eat dinner because we weren''t really hungry after consuming a gazillion calories all day long, but we did split a thing of freezer spinach to try to detox. One bonus was that a red that we''ve liked in the past which costs $18 was on sale for $100 for a case since they were bringing in the next year''s vintage, so now we are all stocked up.

OK, must shower so DH (who just got home from a 42 mile bike ride) and I can go to lunch.

Marcy, your weight loss vibes might be working. hehee I got on the scale this morning and *I think* I lost a lb; I always wait for the official ww scale to tell me on Thursdays. I love Costco much better; they pay their employees better and treat them as number 1 and if their employees are happy then they feel their customers will be happy. I like that philosophy; plus they have good deals, just my 2 cents. Snow!!!! Where do you live in Wyoming if you don't mind me asking?

Steph, yay, I am sure it turns out great! Keep your hair that beautiful blonde. hehee Hubby always calls Costco the $100 club because it is very hard to shop and spend under $100. I do spend under $100 when I make a list otherwise I always see things I like. They have the Fiber One bars for lots cheaper than the grocery store, just an fyi. Can't wait to hear how your hair turns out; sending good hair vibes!!!

Rod, glad you and Charlie had a great dinner and uper workout!!!! Oh my, I understand how Pau Pau feels. I miss ya when you don't check in; I think it is because you are such a doll! What is the weather like in Sunny Tampa?

Kimi, you know I would LOVE to be your neighbor; I need a walking buddy. My cousin has been super busy. Hubby walks w/me a few miles but then goes home. Have fun w/Dee and I am glad you both have your cameras!!!!

Can't wait to see pics of you and Dee!

DeeJay, your hubby sounds like a wonderful cook and it sounds like he enjoys making delicious meals!!! So jealous
11.gif
My hubby is a good cook but he doesn't make fresh gnocchi! Now that is deluxe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will probably only go for a 2 mile walk or maybe bag it. It is super windy and cold 50 degrees. I don't understand how we went from high 70's yesterday to low 50's today and the rest of the week. I want summer weather again. heheeee

Have a lovely Sunday all! Can't wait to hear about your trips Kimi and Mara

The guy I went to really did a good job..so thank goodness all that drama is over! Then I came home and was starving and had a slice of leftover pizza

hi everyone!

This weekend we took a road trip to see the fall leaves changing and it was so fun! We ate some crap though - again - mexican food including a margarita AND hard ice cream. I can''t keep doing this, so I decided to start today on a 2 week low GI diet. I am basically going to give up all the "white foods" (sugar and refined flour) for 2 weeks. It shouldn''t be too hard since I limit those things anyway. I stocked up on fish, lean ground beef, tofu and veggies, egg whites, sweet potatoes, salad fixins and more veggies at the store. I love looking in my grocery cart thinking THAT''S A HEALTHY PERSON''s GROCERIES! DH said he would do the low GI thing with me. I don''t know if he will have the willpower but since I''m the family cook, I don''t care what he eats at work as long as he doesn''t derail me @ home and I don''t think he will. I did decide I''ll eat like normal (normal being still pretty healthy) when we eat out for dinner next weekend for sanity. I''ll let you know how I feel on the low GI thing. A challenge will be when I''m meeting some girlfriends on Thurs for INdian food. I will have to avoid the yummy bread and rice. That will be hard!

I also got the word from my doc that I may have a hormonal imbalance that is affecting my weight. I need to get followed up with a specialist and maybe more tests. I''m not too worried about it, especially since it''s just a maybe, but it would help explain why I am carrying these extra 20 lbs while working out like crazy and eating so well (disregarding the last 4 days that is!) I have said this before but I ate normally and exercised normally and was quite thin until about 2002-2003 when I gained about 50 lb in just over a year while eating healthy and exercising. Two different doctors could not find anything wrong with me, so I''ve been dieting and exercising like crazy since that time and have lost 22 lbs. So if they do find a hormonal imbalance, I''m goinig to be pretty mad that the two different doctors missed it back then and I could have avoided all this trouble ... well, cross that bridge when I come to it.

Rod.... oh Rod! You definitely did not hurt my feelings in the least! You are a very kind and sensitive person, traits which I appreciate and value so much! Believe me it takes much more to offend me and you did not in the least!!! You DID spark the great car debate again though - all day DH has been debating whether the BMW or G35 tops his wish list! He wanted me to ask you what years and models were the Infinitis that you had, and if you could give more details about what you didn''t like? (but don''t worry if that''s too much trouble.) Also, thanks so much for telling us that your friends'' leatherette has lasted so well over the years. That is great info. I also like that it is more animal friendly not to have leather - although I admit I love the feel of good leather. We really aren''t seriously looking yet, but DH loves cars the way I love jewelry and he loves researching them and plotting his future purchases!

Kimberly and DeeJay I am sure you two will have so much fun and I wish I could join you!

Skippy your weekend sounds fun - I LOVE the costco pizza. I haven''t been in a while since I live further from Costco than I used to. That place is just great! I love the great deals on fruits and veggies especially the big tub of spring mix salad and the giant things of strawberries that I used to get there. Also their avacados were the best and the cheapest of anywhere in town. I need to make the trip! Also thanks for saying that your colleagues like their G35s. It is such a pretty car.

I hope everyone''s week gets off to a great start.
