I love platinum, art deco, and delicate-looking. I thought for sure I wanted claw prongs with bullet sides but now I don't know. I'm looking at compass settings (NSEW) with some sort of unique halo. I think it needs some white diamonds to contrast with the blue. I want something that will fit flush to triple stack with my 1mm plat bands.

Very exciting—it’s gorgeous and I look forward to seeing it set!

Hmm.. I was going to suggest this as my total favourite setting for an asscher. Tab prongs and baguette sides.

There’s this NSEW version

And this thread of compass-settings for asschers

Lovely stone, and here are some of my inspiration pics for an Asscher cut CS.

Hi Antique Chic,
I love foxinsox first suggestion.....tab prongs and baguette sides would be perfection with your stunning blue asscher!

I like the triple horizontal baguettes.

That just screams art deco to me. I've seen something similar before.

I actually meant for the stone to be turned on a NSEW setting, not the prongs. Although that's a possibility I wasn't aware of! Here's an example of what I was talking about: Ashley Zhang Diana compass hand2.jpg

But I also like kite diamonds. Agh! Too many choices...Cushla Whiting Delilah with kite diamonds.jpg

I love this blue... & I am quite drawn to baguettes set parallel to the girdle of a center stone ---| |---
In any case, white diamonds on the setting seem almost required - it is the usual way to give due honor to Color.

I do not have any image editing means at hand - else I'd be editing the pictures just to see what the shield sides look like with the stone in the corner-up position...

I found out last night I can use Paint 3D (came with my Windows laptop) to select and rotate things! It's not perfect but does a good job and is super quick.

@Antique Chic Intriguing! & if the uncommon type of sides is not available, pears could work.

I was originally thinking bullet sidestones, but think I need something a little wider. Some jewelers call them shields. I don't think they'll be too hard to find. And I have patience ;)2

I took my diamond on a field trip to a local jeweler today. I felt like the 3 stone settings and halos actually took away from the stone instead of showcasing it. Of course they only had more common ones, no kites or bullets. But a thin pave cathedral ring with the stone NSEW/compass set took my breath away. They would have to set the head so the prongs hold the corners, not the sides, but it fit flush with my two bands. I wasn’t nearly as excited about it when it was square set: B6FE7FBB-DCDB-4DAA-B9A4-A87B786AEC0F.jpeg

I think that looks like a great combo when compass set! :)

You could leave the prongs as-is (but making them tabs) - I think that's how @Karl_K had one set?

This NEEDS a halo. The color is delicate. It needs a rim of white diamonds to emphasize the color.

I think it would be a a mistake to set it any other way

I will not disagree, @Niel

+1. I did not intend to halo my yellow diamond either and did so at my husband’s insistence. He was right. It makes the color pop.
