Hi! I'm seeking advice about this compass-type setting for a 1 ct asscher (examples below). I like that it has a less square appearance and really shows off the asscher shape. A jeweler told me that because the corners are exposed this is not the most ideal setting method in terms of safety... but it seems to me that 4-prong round brilliants have a lot of exposure too (albeit no corners)?
1) Do you think this is safe?
2) Do you like the look?
3) Please post pics if you have one of these!![Smile2 :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
For reference, I'll be setting this on a simple thin platinum band. Thanks!
