I LOVE the entire look of Lucy Liu at the Tony's. Didn't realize this shade of purple and light green vanadium beryl (?) work well together!

Wow, she looks gorgeous. Those are emeralds. I would imagine the bright lights are making the stones look pale.

Strictly tone speaking, aren’t they both duck neck green? Nice shots!

What does you best emerald look like under low/darkish light?

The top stone is much darker, the sunlight lightens the tone. The bottom stone is the same color in all lighting. It’s actually a nice in color and can be glowy, but it’s very included.

Good to know. Would the ugly one be completely darken under low light next to the best one due to the inclusions?

It’s hard to explain, but the other one gets more saturated, metallic and deeper in color under artificial lighting because it’s a finer stone. The other one gets nicer in artificial lighting, but not as much. Emeralds love incandescent light, but an emerald should look good in the sun as well.

5EBEFA05-9ABD-4A68-BEBC-D4DDF0549FAE.jpeg @Red_fan, Lucy’s earrings are also by Lorraine Schwartz. I wonder if they’re the same ones Angelina wore. These are 100 carats!!

I won't be surprised if they are. LS has some fab. designs even thought she doesn't always use the "finest". Her emerald pieces got me into CS, especially emerald.

If those earrings aren't made of vanadium beryl, wouldn't they be light to med. light at least?

Tried to find more pictures of her earrings under different light setting. They do glow even thought under darker light. I just really love that shades of purple and green together... Lucy looks great at 50!

They’re probably medium tone, perhaps Chivor and definitely emerald, not vanadium beryl. She’s constantly being photographed with bright lights, so they may be darker IRL.

She’s FIFTY??!:geek2:

More of that giant e-ring from George.

NICE stone! I am surprised to see the hairline on the gallery of the setting! Wouldn't a custom made setting be super fit and tidy? That gap drives me banana!

These are LS designs. Love the black rhodium plating setting.

I finally recorded “Crazy Rich Asians.” Here are the screen shots of Michelle’s ring up close from my television. I estimate it to be about 8 or 9 carats because I have an aquamarine roughly the same size. It has two large pear shaped diamonds, and boy is it gorgeous! It definitely a medium dark stone. It’s magnificent.

That picture makes it look nothing like that one scene in the film in the restaurant.

It has gorgeous color and crystal, and very glowy.

There is a photo on Lucy's instagram that shows the earrings in shadow - they are definitely darker in this pic.

When I first saw them, I too thought they were the same as Angelina's pair. There is a cast member on one of the real housewives shows that often wears an almost identical pair of earrings during the show. I will try to dig up a picture. It made me wonder if LS has made a few pairs over the years (or keeps them and frequently loans them out?)

I saw them on a few celebs as well. From the listing photo, they look medium in tone, and not duck neck at all. They’re still desirable and pretty, but for the size, if they were duck neck, that listing would be closer to 7 figures.

31E3C589-373D-4FBD-9809-1A76D6C1780C.jpeg So I was at Tiffany & Co today. I saw this 1.6 ct duck neck emerald for $36k. It was cut very shallow, and it was so clean, it looked synthetic. The problem was that it didn’t have that velvety look under their lighting. It was very flat in the middle, and no “drop of oil” look. The color was also in the more yellow side of some fine emeralds I’ve seen, She didn’t know the amount or type of treatment. She said there were some inclusions, but they were not eye visible, and situated at one part in the gem.

So be careful to find a gem that looks velvety/satiny in artificial lighting, and not synthetic, even if it is a duck neck color. To be honest, the photo in this case, looks nicer than the stone!

Alright! this T&Co ducky is about $22500/ct! I don't know how much that pair of trillions costs...

Did you take picture of it with your own ducky? Won't that be fun?!

That is why I was hoping you could post picture of your best ducky next to this one for educational purpose! :twisted2::lol:

D802A38E-4C84-4727-91AB-30858EC25A58.jpeg Super pale emerald at Macy’s. It was emerald looking, but almost on the verge of what I would consider a green beryl. Here are my stones, which look black in comparison, it was very pretty for what it was, and on deep discount for around $2k.

 Could the T&Co be a Zambian? Weren't they the first company selling Zambi emeralds?
I didn’t ask the origin. All I know was that it was very “flat” in the middle. It really looked synthetic. I didn’t see any of the velvet richness I’m accustomed to in duck necks, and I’ve seen very clean stones before. I have to tell you, I was not in love.
