I''m so hungry! My fiance is bringing me food from Whole Foods-do you all have them where you are?

oh yes, I loooove Whole Foods!
9.gif

HaY! I wrote to you on my thread--Come to LA and take me shopping!
Where are you located(generally)? I tried to find it, but I can''t!

Well, I''m back to totally incognito now - the window is closed!!! yay!

Thing, I was reading you are in VA; I have been there a few times (family and friends live there)!!! We have some friends who build hot rods and in the summer they have a hot rod show in Shockoe bottom which is a lot of fun!! Have you been to it? hehe I love visiting! Dang too bad this isn't private or I would write more!

I have heard of a song by Billy Bragg on my ipod but I don't know which one; I would have to check. I love REM like your sister. heehe Ah, that is the sweetest how you met your FI! He is super handsome; that is too funny you didn't notice him. haha Glad you finally talked!! I think that story is so romantic!

Next time you come you''ll have to let me know! I would love to meet up with you! I''ve never met up with any PSers in real life. I''d probably be really awkward at first, actually!

I''ve never been to the hot rod show...I don''t think I''ve ever even heard of it! I want you to tell me more! I wish we had PMs!

Let me know which song-I love love love Billy Bragg. My sister has a huge crush on Michael Stipe...he''s not my type, that''s for sure!
3.gif
Yeah, I have no idea why I didn''t notice my fiance! I was hanging out with all my friends and I''m not super friendly, so I''m sure that had something to do with it. Plus one part I forgot to mention was that I was having a single year so I wouldn''t have dated him no matter what. I got my heart broken by a stupid, stupid boy, so I decided to have a single year. I didn''t even kiss a boy for over a year! Until my fiance got up the nerve to kiss me, actually!
3.gif
So my single year worked out well!

M for Me by Billy Bragg; I love it! hehe Do you like that song? LOL, I use to think Michael stipe was a hottie; I haven't seen a recent pic of him though so not sure if I feel the same way. Hmm, that makes sense why you didn't notice your FI then. Ah, he sounds so cute! You two are meant to be together, destiny!!!!

Hubby's friend is an awesome welder so he can weld all sort of awesome things including hot rods, motor cycles, etc. To me he is a welding artist!
2.gif
Just a bunch of people brought their hot rods to that part of town and it was blocked off and it was cool to watch and check out all the cars. haha I guess it is sort of a boy thing! hehe

Well, it is a tiny bit akward at first to meet a PS'er; maybe the first 5 mins but then it is a lot of fun and they are pretty much like online or at least for me they were. I thought it was great and people are super nice; I am glad I did it 3x! The jewelry is great too and it is a blast to talk jewelry and other things. I would love to meet you too!!! I am not sure when I will be out there again though; we were there last year. It is a nice town and I love the Ukrops ham biscuits (I had those the first Christmas I went out there). Also, I love the little shops in this one little fun part of town (I forgot what it is called). It is so green out there!!! I bet you love it! I always thought you were from the Carolinas for some reason. I love that it is pretty close to DC too, lucky duck! haha eta: Oh yeah, I remember you were trying to cut out cokes. hehe I love coke and hate Pepsi! Next time I am out there you will have to tell me about the best places to eat sushi!!!

Hey Karen, it actually take 24 hours for Facebook to acknowledge your name change. And because it takes 24 hours to go through the system, no one can search for you until it does. I tried to do the same thing you did, and then did a little research and discovered that fact. Soooo....I''m not surprised Thing couldn''t find you.

I heart the blue album. And shoes. And Anthro. And crazy political banter. But you knew this already.

I do like that song! My all time fave song by Billy Bragg is probably Way Over Yonder in the Minor Key-he sings it with Natalie Merchant. Or New England. And Price I Pay. I don''t know-so many good ones!

So cool about your husband''s friend! I like stuff like that, too. I''m a total tomboy, though. Well if you make it back to Richmond some day you''ll have to hit me up! You probably went shopping in Carytown-so many good stores there! And there''s a Ukrop''s right there, too! So funny about the ham biscuits-they are good! Yeah, I''m sure meeting PSers in real life gets more comfortable after a few minutes! Plus I would love to put on all the rings for the hand shot! But I would be a nervous wreck at first I bet! I get a bit of social anxiety sometimes.

I was doing so well with cutting out Cokes but I totally fell off the bandwagon. And hard-I''ve been drinking like 3 or 4 a day lately! Oh well-I''ll have to reapply myself soon. I HATE Pepsi more than you could know! The school I go to is a Pepsi school and I got one a long time ago because I needed caffeine and I literally GAGGED when I drank it so I had to throw it away! Hahaha!

I know none of these people you speak of.... I am musically out of touch.... OMG! I''m OLD!!!

My high D is virtually gone, (although I did hit it, unpleasantly and ungracefully, a few days ago) and I haven''t sung anything seriously in 2 years.
Oddly enough though, my coloratura (quick, precise runs of notes) is better. Go figure. Lose range, gain agility. Makes no sense to me. I CAN still sing though, dammit!!

So, Moon, get your gitfiddle fingers in shape, and we''ll get together and sing something....folky please. I don''t do yelling or power ANYTHING.

Who do you like, k? Folksy stuff mostly? If so you should definitely check out Billy Bragg-he''s a folksy singer and he does a lot of Woody Guthrie songs, too. Guthrie''s daughter gave him and a band called Wilco access to Guthrie''s thousands of songs that have never been recorded, so he''s done quite a few. And he''s super political, which I enjoy!

I really like bluegrass/irish type stuff. I love Allison Kraus, The Chieftans, The October Project, and Loreena McKennitt (saw her in concert once). I also like jazz (smooth and fusion), classical guitar, (Parkening, Segovia, Williams), classical music in general, and OPERA. Love opera.

It''s totally awesome that you have a twin. I always thought that would be cool... What''s your birth sign? I skimmed the thread, but read most of it and I don''t think I saw that part. I have a think about astrology.

must have these boots.jpg

Miracles, I saw McKennitt in 94?ish on her Mask And Mirror tour. I saw her in Boulder. She was marvelous live. And thanks for the compliment. I don''t pick music for "good taste" but I guess in music, like many other things, I have somewhat "traditional" tastes. Of course opera is hardly popular in these here parts. Admitting you like it can be detrimental, since people look at you as if you''ve admitted some ghastly perversion, or you are "hoity-toity".
20.gif
That you might genuinely LIKE it never occurs to them...

There was an international opera singer in my family, so I guess I''m wired to like it. Genetically predisposed, if you will...
2.gif

Those are great looking boots...sigh. But my feet won''t handle much more than tennies these days, so I steadfastly look away from what I can''t have....(hand dramatically to forehead!)

Ahh this thread moves fast!!!

Moon and Thing-I don''t have any good pics of the jacket, but it is awesome! I am totally redoing my "style" and it is so fun. I always felt like I wanted to wear "different" things and just never did, but when I broke up with my ex I decided to go for it! I feel so much more like myself, if that makes any sense at all. I have some awesome vintage cowboy boots, some slouchy black flat ones, and some wine colored high ones with a big buckle on them. If I had the money I would have a million pairs. Maybe some fringed ones like yours!

So funny that he goes through cycles with his hair. My BF has curly hair and hates it, loves it to be really short but I think curly hair on a guy is SEXY! I also think the way you guys met is too cute. Funny how that stuff works out!

Also still jealous as heck about your job. There is an independent boutique next to my house, and I shop there WAAAY too much. Maybe I should try to get a job! Also yay for having so little time left in school! And I share your Karen O crush.

Maybe I missed this, but what do you like to eat? I LOOOOVE Whole Foods. My roomie works there so I feel like I am always there or eating stuff from there! I remember you said you are a sushi fan, me too! What are your faves?

Moon-those boots are KILLER!!!!!!!!

Ksinger-I love Alison Krauss!! She lived on my old street and was apparently really nice. I saw her and Plant twice this summer.

Opera, eh? Interesting! My good friend''s girlfriend is an opera singer but I''ve never seen her perform. I would love to, though-he says she''s amazing!

I do enjoy Allison Kraus-I saw some TV show or DVD or something at my friend''s house of her singing with some country guy singer. I don''t really know your other peeps, though!

Boo to no pictures! Well your jacket sounds sweet-and so do all your boots! That''s fun that you''re redoing your style-life''s too short not to wear whatever you want! Or buy whatever you want, for that matter!
9.gif

I love curly hair on boys too! But I''m glad I have straight hair-curly hair seems complicated and I am very lazy about stuff like that! I just wash and condition my hair and then I let it air dry. My hair is stick straight. And I think I''ve gotten it cut twice in the last...2 years? I''m growing it out, that''s my excuse! If my fiance lets his hair air dry it is insane and poofy! He uses Bumble and Bumble hair cream for his curls...adorable!

I love independent boutiques-they''re the best! I bet they love you if you shop there a lot. When I used to work on the floor we always loved the regulars.

As for food, I am kind of a picky eater. I hate anything with sauces on it...and I hate sloppy foods. So I hate anything that''s like Indian food, basically. And the type of Mexican food you get at most Mexican restaurants. (Except for the chips and salsa!) I do enjoy real Mexican food.

There''s this place in LA at the Farmer''s Market at the Grove called the Loteria Grill that is insanely good real Mexican food and I love to eat there when I go. I love yogurt, I love Thai food...I love salads, I love veggies of all kinds...I love pasta and Asian noodles. And pizza as long as it doesn''t have too much cheese. I actually love vegan pizza with just the sauce and veggies! My fave Whole Foods pizza right now is vegan chicken, and all it has is red sauce, fake chicken and onions.

Seafood is probably my favorite food of all-I eat it all and I love it! And sushi, of course. I like nigiri, maki and sashimi. Really I like it all! If I had to pic my faves are probably toro, yellowfin, salmon, unagi and of course edamame!

What about you? What are your favorite foods and sushi? And I''m jealous your roomie works at Whole Foods! We just got ours so I''m not a pro yet-what do I need to get? My favorite thing there is pizza and of course stuff off the hot and cold bars.

Yep. Opera. I love classical singing. And I have an appreciation of it having trained in it myself (very limited I hasten to say - just part of the standard singing training really). My mom''s cousin - mine too I suppose: 1st cousin once removed - was Lucille (or Lucilla depending) Udovick. She was a dramatic soprano. She wasn''t all that well known here in the US, but was very well known in Europe, where she lived - in Rome, until she died, in 2000? as I recall. They wrote a very nice obit in Opera News.... Anyway, I have a 1959 Italian television recording of her with Franco Corelli, and pics of my mom and her sisters backstage with her and Richard Tucker at the 1960 Houston Grand Opera production of Turandot. I also have a recording of her on the Angel label, doing Elecktra at the 1959 Glynndebourne Opera Festival.

I love the older operas - Rossini, Verdi, Puccini. LOVE La Traviata. Wagner can go hang. Modern stuff for the most part is a waste. I kinda liked the adaptation of Streetcar Named Desire. Other than that though, modern sucks.

So...I love sopranos, from Wagnerian all the way to coloraturas. And find contraltos fascinating. And my favorite tenor right now is
Juan Diego Florez. He''s a serious HOTTIE!! AND he can sing!!

I''m also more than a bit fond of Dmitri Hvorostovsky. Voice like dark chocolate when he sings Old Russian Romances. Eeee!!!

And I too saw a bit of that concert of Allison Krauss with Robert Plant. Hubbie and I decided that her talents were underutilized and wasted with him. She''s amazing, and needs to just be solo.

Sorry for the jack...can you tell I really like the stuff?? I''m sure this post''ll put most to sleep.

But do go look at the 2 guys. They might pique your interest if nothing else...

Hilarious! I thought I was the only one who liked pizza with no cheese!! I would NEVER eat extra cheese, which a lot of my friends like. I also love seafood, and you need to try the seafood gumbo from WF. It is SOOOOO yummy. I practically lived off edamame for awhile, and then I got burnt out on it. If I had to choose one food to eat forever, it would totally be sushi. I love anything with tuna, salmon, eel or crab. My roomie works in the bakery part of WF, and last night she brought home these cheese and herb biscuits...they were insane! I recommend those and the vegan choc chip cookies. Allegedly the cookies are 45 calories each, though they are so good I have a really hard time believing it. I could seriously write a novel on things I love at WF. Smooze brand Popsicles, these krinkle sticks that are Lesser Evil brand, plantain chips, Salmon roll-ups...and so on and so forth.

OK so is there a name to this curl cream? I am wondering if BF would try it. We went to a wedding this weekend and none of his friends could believe he actually has hair now, which is totally only because I like it! I never realized that he meant it when he said how short he kept it!

What are you getting your FI for Christmas? Anything fun on your list?

Oh and I got a pic of my jacket!

ETA sorry that pic is so big!
