The 5 Stone Ring Thread!

I have come out of lurkdom to thank all of you PS ladies for the vast knowledge you share. I had my favorite local jewelry store custom a graduating 5-stone ring for me. It took a few CAD revisions but I am so happy with how it turned out. And I learned from you all not to settle! I got my inspiration from all of you 5-stone gals! My diamond photography skills are definitely lacking (it's really hard to capture the true sparkle when you are an amateur!) Thanks again.

Here's my graduated OEC ring. I believe all the stones are H and it's about 1.25ctw. ERD made the ring and I love it!

I love this thread so much and have looked through it so many times over the years! I'm excited to add my own five stone at long last!

This is my Old European Cut five stone ring, approximately 1.5 to 1.65cttw. Each stone is 4.2mm. The mount is 14k yellow gold. The stones were likely cut in the 1910s to 1920s and the mount is likely from the 1950s. Size 6.75.

This is my new ring. I'm not sure about all the different shapes, but oh well.

I love this look - beautiful older ring; the prongs seem to hold the diamonds so tenderly =)

Hello! Long time lurker, first time poster! I wanted to share my GORGEOUS five-stone ring now that I am back from my honeymoon. It is a 2 carat, u-pronged ring with a yellow gold band/white gold setting (size 6.5) made by the genius ID Jewelers! The ring has exceeded my expectations -- I have never received more attention than I have wearing this ring! On my honeymoon, the concierge sheepishly asked to see my ring, as he said he and his co-workers have been trying to get a good look at the ring that shines so much!
I will post more pics when I get them back from the wedding photographer, but in the meantime here are a few phone shots -- the ring glistens unlike anything I have seen!

Congrats! It looks beautiful on you!

Wow, ILoveBling, that is gorgeous!!

I thought I would update with a picture of my 5-stone (first shared awhile back in this thread) now paired with my wedding band. I knew I wanted a plain yellow gold band but it was surprisingly hard to find just the right one, whose height, width and "roundedness" looked right with my 5-stone. I ended up going with a 2mm from iweddingbands.com (great return policy, we ordered a number of different ones and returned the ones that didn't work) which was quite affordable :) My husband had the inside hand-engraved locally for me. Although it is narrow, I enjoy wearing it by itself too as a simple message of "married" :)

I have wanted to add to this thread for the longest time!! I have read the entire thing over and over and now I can share my 5 stone goodness.

1.27ctw, G colour, VS clarity diamonds in a setting made by David Klass.

My daily wear ring which is perfect for handling my little kiddies and working in the office. I pair it with another smaller baguette band and the sparkle is amazing!

Simply beautiful!!!

My husband recently bought me a new wedding ring in the form of a 5 stone band. It's the BGD "Sally" band in 18k rose gold. It's just a tad over 1.5cts, all G/VS2. And, thanks to Pricescope, I have a CVB french cut band coming soon to pair with my 5 stone.

It's gorgeous Rebecca!!! May I ask what size the ring is? Trying to get a good idea about what size diamonds I want...

Here's the 5-stone I recently got as my engagement ring! My fiance and I worked together to choose it. I loooooove it and look forward to growing old with it (and him)! :) It's the trellis setting from Whiteflash, semi-custom at 1.0 ctw with slightly graduated stones (.15, .20, .30, .20, .15). All ACA, the four sides are melee and the middle was chosen from their selection. My finger is size 5.5. I'm so grateful to this forum and this thread for all of the inspiration! Beautiful rings, ladies!

I really like the look of the tapered 5 stone rings, so thanks for sharing the specs so I know how looks in real life!

Thanks! It's an 8, thanks to my short, fat fingers. :(( The stones are .3-.33 and I get full coverage across the top of my finger. Larger stones would hit the sides of my fingers and that would personally annoy me so I'm quite happy with the size. I have complete strangers stop me to remark on how beautiful the stones are.

I did not know there was a 5 stone thread. This is my favorite piece right now because so comfortable and easy going. It's 1.6ctw Gvs in plat. U-prong style. I love it as my RHR or on days without my solitaire on my LH. And hello rebecca2008 fellow size 8 too!

Sholdt Five Stones, one in 18k white gold and one in 18k peach gold. All stones are between 4 and 5.6mm. I love the comfort level! 20150611_174913.jpg

Beautiful!! So much detail and very blingy!

Hi all! I am looking to get engaged soon and i'm interested in getting a 5 stone ring as my e-ring. I like the idea of something low profile and will not be bothersome in everyday life. I love the bling of a 5 stone, just worried that I might miss not having a more traditional style. Any thoughts? :)

Hi,

I just received a 9 stone ring for my engagement ring and I love it. I have large hands so I knew I wanted finger coverage and 9 stones does it. My stones are 0.32 pt. I have a 2.5mm simple platinum band as my wedding band. I'm an older bride (2nd time) and felt that this type of ring fits my lifestyle. Good luck in your decision.

Adding my final product to the thread. BGD U prong platinum setting size 5.75. Stones are all BGD Signature 3 D's and 2 E's ~ .35 for a ~1.75 ct total.
