Ok I just went for it! Eek! Soon enough I can put all this wondering to bed. Thanks so so much to both of you for everything !! and thanks for bringing this one back up @DejaWiz ! I don't know why I kept ruling it out, I think because others in that blue light seemed like something odd about them

Fantastic!
Fingers crossed that the ASET comes back nothing short of excellent!

Yay! Looking forward to the comparison photos and seeing how the new one performs!

This should be similar in size to my 2.34 and on me it feels very large still so you should definitely see a size difference.

I've been wondering if you've started getting used to your new size yet. I'm on the fence about going up this much more but I feel the need to see in person and find out for sure. I never expected to have DSS with the diamond I just got last year!

The second stone, the slightly larger 2.38 arrived today! It looks fantastic! It is quite noticeably larger than my current 1.67. While wearing them next to each other today it hasn't once looked somewhat close in size like the 2.20 sometimes did. Amazing what a 0.2mm difference makes! Still not totally sure which one I'll choose yet.

Here are a few of my ASET attempts - does all look ok? @DejaWiz @Kim N thanks!!

It looks terrific to me! Just my two cents--if you're already second-guessing the 2.20 size now, I would keep the larger one.

Yay! Thank you! That's kinda how I'm leaning, I don't want to go through this DSS thing again anytime soon. Just a bit hesitant because often when I look at the larger one on my finger I think WHOA, maybe that's too huge for me, and it could look even larger when it's set (right?)

The size looks right at home on your hand! :kiss2: When set, it could possibly look larger due to the prongs, or smaller due to sitting lower than it's currently sitting in the stone holder.

Picture perfect ASET to my eyes!
Keep the bigger one...I mean, you already adopted it, so it would break its heart to have to go back. Nobody wants that. :lol-2:

So I should keep both and have different ring settings to choose between!

You get used to the size quick. I thought my 2.34 was too big for a few days and now I think it looks just right.

Just got my new ring (and my stone back) after 8 long weeks! I had plans for a very different custom ring at first, ran into some design hiccups and so I changed direction and decided on a solitaire instead. Made by David Klass.

I haven’t had much time with it to get good pics but here a few. Wowzers this stone is spectacular! Thank you again for all the help!! @DejaWiz and @Kim N ( 2.38ct F VS1)

Oh, it's gorgeous! The diamond looks incredible (the fire in your first photo ), and I love how your setting turned out!

Thank you! Yes, it’s so fiery! Especially at this massive new size. I think my smaller one has a bit more, but it’s a bit different - somehow. If I only had some or your knowledge perhaps I could describe it properly !

Splintery versus chunky flashes of fire?

That’s probably it, that the new one is a little more on the splintery side.. they both have the broader arrows (don’t think we had the LGF numbers ?) - but my smaller one is quite blinding with its big flashes, like I seriously ! I’ll have to compare both outside

Wow, I literally gasped! How gorgeous. Absolute perfection. How are you enjoying the new setting compared to your old? Also your 1.67 ring is gorgeous, where did you source that stone?

Oh thank you so much! It only took me 742 hours of studying every ring in existence to decide on this one!

At first I felt the new setting looked pretty odd on my finger because of the lower stone height, and I was very close to asking if I could send it back if possible to be set higher, but that has pretty much worn off. I was feeling like my higher set Tiffany style looks a little prettier / helps out my short stubby fingers ? but I realize that’s a weird hangup and I’m getting over it. I wanted to do something different and have a lower set stone for this one, and I’m definitely falling more in love as I spend more time with it.

The 1.67 is from Distinctive Gem. That was a great experience, having him go through the full evaluation and video presentation of the stone and know that I got a winner, after I had bought and returned a couple elsewhere.

Hey @DejaWiz I may have caught the differences in fire between my two stones on camera. The new 2.38 also has lots of fire, not splintery - but the big blinding flashes that I only get from the 1.67 seem to always be from the edges / crown facets (right?) - any idea what causes this? So curious!
