So as it turns out...maybe...NOT a heart attack?

Still in hospital, baffling the medical community.

For a few days before I went to the ER with chest pain, I had low temps (95-96), rigors for hours each evening, racing pulse, then climbing pulse to 102. That part would go on for about 3-5 hours, then it would break, the fever would drop, the racing pulse would drop - tho not subside to normal and I'd be ok for the rest of the day. For weeks now, I've had hot flushes multiple times a day - not the menopausal kind, the 'I have a fever' kind where I'd sweat through my clothes. Then they'd calm down. Day 3 of that extreme pain + symptoms led to chest pain, shortness of breath an angiogram and a stent. Problem solved, right?

Wrong, as it turns out. Still getting sweats and chills, EKGs have been normal the entire time, temps slightly raised, but that's about all. Rigors this morning, and blood pressure almost doubled in the space of an hour. Pain. Pain, pain, pain. Legs spasmed, arms spasmed, back, shoulders, chest - all spasmed. Shortness of breath, too tired to speak. Panting.

So the chief cardio and his cardio fellow came in today and happened to arrive in the middle of one of these daily episodes. He said he'd take my inflammatory markers and - BINGO! My C Reactive Protein is about 34 times higher than the highest safe reading. So now we're talking to infectious diseases, rheumatology, and GI.

And that's where we're up to. I'm exhausted, and I'm watching the clock, knowing this beast is going to raise its head some time in the next 12 hours. I'm utterly exhausted. And I've just had a stent. And my BP goes wild when these things hit. And the pain is unbearable.

And I just want to be with my husband above all things.

Did you get tested for coronavirus?

@mrs-b, geez woman, if you want new bling just ask, no need to be so dramatic. Your hubs is holding up signs outside for cripes sake. Make one for yourself that says "10 carats E IF and I'll come home". First thing I thought when you posted about them bringing in an infectious disease specialist is that it would be just like to you to be the first person to acquire a hitherto unknown disease and probably get it named after you.

Seriously, I'm so so sorry that you're in such discomfort and all my digits are crossed that whatever ails you goes away soon.

And for those fevers, I read that looking at snow helps one feel cooler.....

ummmmm, snow? WHAT? All I see is perfection. And hottness.

Here are some of my favorite pictures. One is of a mother Newfoundland dog and her puppy. The next is of a sculpture made in gold by the indigenous people who inhabited Bogota, Colombia before the Spanish arrived. It is in the gold museum in Bogota. ( I love gold). The third is of Recco, a town in norther Italy where they make wonderful cheese focaccia.

Yikes, you've been on quite a journey so far. I hope the doctors figure out what is going on, that it's curable or treatable, and you're out of the hospital soon.

Dear @mrs-b,

@Matata’s spot on. You’re going to be famous. You’re going to get something named after you. It’ll be The Greatest possible-GI-issue-possible-infectious-disease Ever.

You just keep pushing that lil’ ol’ morphine button. And when they figure this thing out and wrap you up to send you home to Tim - your virtual homecoming celebration will be huge. More huge than Yuge, even!

A gentle ::squish:: to you, scritches to Ballin and Cirrus, and a stiff drink to Tim...

Here's a little bit of absurd.
This is Virgil, he used to love to sleep with his head between his back legs, just because.

My daughter drew this Benedict Cumberbatch at age 9. No one knows why, but it's pretty good for
all that.
I hope they find out what's going on and soon; you need to get home, you have jewelry that needs cleaning. :wink2:

This is really such odd news! I hope it gets figured out, STAT!

When I die, this is what I hope is greeting me at heaven's gate. Because if they aren't there, I don't wanna go.

And this is my Lola, sending you a kiss.

This is my son at my wedding ten years ago. Doesn’t he look so happy to be holding hands with the flower girl?

I hope you feel better soon.

Here's a baby rabbit to give you a smile...this fellow was in our grass a few years back. I moved him away from the edge of the road to where his mom could find him.

I hope you don't mind if I post this here mrs-b - @elizat I am guessing you won't have any trouble at all getting those three adopted

But please let me know if you aren't able to place them? My other half and I have asked local shelters about younger bonded pairs - siblings or a mother/kitten duo - they've been unresponsive though (presumably COVID pandemonium).

one of the only positives to covid 19 is it seems all over the world campaign animals are being adopted out and fostered
our local SPCA is doing contactless adoptions
