Wow I love that. I think that oval link would be the technical term but still people refer to them as paperclip. Is it nice and heavy? It looks amazing!

Thank you! Yes, nice and heavy! And oldie but a goodie.

Wow! Thats amazing! It does have the paperclip type look to it, even though the links are a little more oval. Do you have any neck shots?

terrible photo but here it is...

I love both those necklaces!

Thank you!! The oval link is actually a necklace and bracelet linked together--I wear them separate or as one long necklace as seen here. The 24K bead necklace I also wear triple wrapped around my wrist as a bracelet.

cheers--Sharon

image.jpg My daughter and I got "zapped"at catbird jewelry in soho New York. You select your bracelet and they weld it onto your arm permanently . So fun

My daughter and I did this (at a different place, but same bracelet, permanently “zapped”) recently. They said the paper clip chains were the strongest so that’s what we both got. I’m so pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to wear!

Sounds like a fun thing to do. I haven't heard of anywhere that does that in the UK. Can we see some pics of your "zapped-on" bracelet?

Mine is a trombone chain but has paperclip type links in it. Thought you might like to see what a larger piece in that style looks like. I love it and stack it with everything.

The links are hollow but still pretty sturdy. I’ve been wearing it 24/7 including to sleep and hike etc. no dents or issues yet.

Seeing all the lovely paperclip chains here has only fuelled my obsession further =)2

And I finally get to post my own - birthday present from my lovely husband:

I love how reflective and tactile it is.

And it stacks so nicely with my other bracelets:

I’ve been quietly obsessing over paperclip chains for the last 6 months so finally gave in.
Currently waiting very impatiently for this to arrive from Australia - it’s just plated since I didn’t want to commit to anything solid til I knew I really liked the style and would wear it.

Of course because when I obsess, I go a little overboard.. and I got an unexpected bonus from work, I also have these vintage trombone/fancy link watch chains on the way too

Same! I’m quite excited to see if they look as good when they arrive. One is coming from the UK, the other from France. Also rolled/plated. Given the price of gold at present, I didn’t want to commit too much since I’m still working out if I like them.
Then if I do, I’ll look for something solid.

Great choices! I looked for trombone chains as well but couldnt find any that had the right specs I was looking for. Since they are a vintage item I think they are less likely to go out of fashion again in the way paperclip chains might. Having said that, I decided to get paperclip chains anyway because I really love the look and I'm hoping they dont look too dated too quickly.

Will you wear yours together stacked, or are they similar lengths?

I so know what you mean! I dithered for months because I was worried about them dating but even the plain paperclip is a classic style so I hope it doesn’t date. And it’s not the end of the world if it does as long as I like them right?
I’d like to stack them. I think they’re all similar lengths if I’ve read the details correctly. I think the YG plain paperclip will stack really nicely with the rosier colour of the trombone chain.

It's so lovely! Can I please ask where you purchased it from? I LOVE it with your starfish pendant :kiss2:

Oh those look lovely! I too am not sure if I want to commit to real gold yet as I worry if it is a trend. These are all gold filled and/or plated. Most of them are from different Etsy sellers. So far I am impressed that they haven't tarnished or changed my skin green even when they have gotten wet. 20220418_123659.jpg

Nice stack!

I know what you mean - I worried that the paperclip chains might be a trend as well. But in the end I decided I like them so much I dont care. If they are a trend I think they may be one that lasts a long time. Because they feel so nice to wear, stack well, and are also very light reflective which I love. I'm normally pretty cautious about anything too trendy in fine jewellery. But I really have no regrets in investing in my rose gold necklace and bracelet. I will still be wearing them in years to come, regardless whether they are off trend or not. They are getting worn every day and are so tactile and pretty - I'm a bit obessed with them

I love that you say that because my wallet is heading into that trendy direction. Everything old becomes new again although you will never convince me to wear "mom Jeans" again! :lol-2:

I love your necklace choices. You seem to be attracted to similar chain shapes to me. I love the oval links too and have a bracelet with a similar look:

20220418_184941.jpg

When you wear all 3 of your necklaces together do they tangle? When I am wearing a pendant on a smaller chain with my paperclip necklace Im always fiddling with them throughout the day making sure they arent tangled. Its easier with larger link chains but I find the thinner ones still twist themselves around the larger ones a bit.
