Thanks @cflutist - there's actually an odd story behind it.

My ring, as you know, is called Merry. I designed it over Christmas, and it just seemed appropriate. However, after my beautiful dog died last Christmas, I decided that my next dog would also be called Merry - as the hurt I felt at his departure highlighted for me how much joy my dogs have given me, and I want to celebrate that joy with whoever comes to take that painfully empty spot in my life.

But I had 2, equally wonderful, dogs, and last Friday, unexpectedly, my other dog, who was hale and hearty and had never had an ill day in her life, also died. The flowers in the photo are from our wonderful vet. Since both my parents passed when I was young, I have the clearest recollection of funeral arrangements in my house. I absolutely hated them. Even these lovely blooms remind me only of grief.

Today, as I was putting on my ring, it dropped out of my hand and fell into the flowers. Suddenly, 'Merry' was looking at me from out of the flowers I associate so strongly with the grief of losing my last dog. It was as though Merry - my next dog, whoever's eye she is currently only a sparkle in - was saying "Look at me! I know you're grieving, but I'm coming - as surely as this flower will open. It's not all grief - take heart!"

It was an extraordinary flash of connection between what has gone and what's to come. Captured in a photo.

Very sorry for the loss of your beloved fur baby @mrs-b . They become part of our family like a child. I lost both of my dogs within 3 weeks of each other and am convinced that the younger one died of a broken heart at age 9. Hugs to you.

I have two to share... these are my new rings.
First is the CVB Norah, who was actually preloved and resized to fit me.
Second is what I call my MJ-Bella ring. Although she has elements of the Bella which I love... she is different in that we redesigned the halo for me. It may be hard to see but she’s a little more geometric than Bella who has more curves. She has floral motifs (almost like opening tulips) in each ‘corner’.
This one is a purely ‘me’ ring. I got her for myself and it symbolises a lot to me... that I can look after myself and love myself and don’t need anyone else!
