You've got lots of beautiful choices but I think my vote would be the classic Tiffany. I would go with Excel to make it - I still think their version is the closest to the real thing. I love the swoopy, six prong head - makes the stone look as large as possible. You could also pair many different bands with it - particularly if you don't mind the gap. I love the gap that it creates though!

I'm glad you are going back to a solitaire setting - I loved your solitaire before the halo!!

My absolute favorite is the Vatche Swan and if I ever do an upgrade that is definitely the setting I would choose. I also love the Mark Morrell Torchiere, the JBEG Sophia, and the classic Tiffany 6-prong style.

Sure! Keep in mind that this setting looks better IMO with a larger stone. These were just quick pics I took when someone asked how platinum held up over time.

I think Victor Canera would be a wonderful choice. His Trueste solitaire could be made with a thinner shank, I think. The double prongs might be nice on a stone the size of yours.

My favourite is the Tiffany setting. I prefer solitaire settings over any other for an engagement ring and Tiffany's was always my "prototype" engagement ring.



I've never seen this one before but I really like it. Elegant and modern.

Okay, so I was thinking of ringabling's Leon Mege ring, which is would not qualify as a plain solitaire because it has pave in the shank ([URL='https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-leon-mege-ring-experience.156266/']https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-leon-mege-ring-experience.156266/[/URL]). However, I could image a similar ring with a plain shank with pave on the basket and prongs. Ringabling's ring is posted below (I hope she does not mind):

I recently saw Gabriel & Co's ER8073W4JJJ on their site, and I think it would be so lovely. Don't know if anyone on PS has it, but it seems like a really interesting profile view while still getting the classic 4-prong solitaire look.

I wanted a "plain" solitaire and spent awhile trying to figure out what I liked. I wanted minimalism but some uniqueness and ended up getting a NESW "twist" solitaire custom made. It's based off of this: http://www.serendipitydiamonds.co.uk/product/R1D002

Unfortunately, I don't have enough great pictures yet because sand got in my camera, and it needs to be repaired. :\

So here are the pics I do have, one the jeweler took before she mailed it, the other is from the beach right after engagement (and before sand accident).
