I adore the WF sleek line! Really, any tapered band because I love the way it emphasizes the center stone. Have the prongs done custom to make them a little more dainty and you have my favourite solitaire setting!

I have the Dimend Scaasi Alessandra and it's definitely my favorite solitaire.

Over the year or so I was looking for a solitaire, I kept coming back to two settings: the Maevona Westray (http://www.maevona.com/bridal/8/Westray) and the Sholdt Simply Solitaire (http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/sholdt-jewelry/rings/28ZZ1/). As soon as I saw the Alessandra I knew it was the one--it beautifully merges both of those settings.

I've never been to the Maevona site... that Westray is a really lovely design. Great choice.

I like the Legato, but prefer teh BGD Truth. Funny how much difference a little squiggle can make.

Thanks, MrsS! I definitely think it is one of the best solitaires! I guess my favorites were the Leon (which I have) and the Tiffany knife edge, but I'd probably go with the BG version if I wanted one. But I am really uncertain what I'd choose if I had it to do over. In some ways, the proportion of the V. Caroline is better than my Leon. I think my stone is set slightly too low. I like the WF Legato sleekline, too.

If I had an AVC or AV round, I might go with one of the JBEG solitaires if I couldn't do a Van Craeynest.

I love the Vatche Swan, especially for a larger stone. I also love JBEG's settings!

In order of preference:

1. Sholdt semi-bezel (obviously, since I haz one )

2. Mark Morell flame or torchiere (I like the surprise diamonds there)

3. Probably the Vache swan. VERY elegant.
