Diamondseeker's Daughter's Vatche Caroline e-ring!

Thankfully my future SIL asked my advice on e-rings and WhiteFlash happened to carry the exact setting my daughter wanted, so he got her ring there! He surprised her and proposed about a week ago after a presentation in his office with about 20 people in attendance, including my younger daughter and myself! I had no idea he was doing it then, so it was a very fun surprise! The diamond is 1.15 ct., H SI1 set in the Vatche Caroline setting (which happens to be her name!). It is really beautiful, and many thanks to Renee and Traci for their help!

DS, as the resident diamond expert at your house, please take a look at your daughter's ring. In the photo you posted, the girdle of the stone is not parallel with the cross bar on the basket. It looks like the stone is set crooked. Hopefully it's just the picture.

Yes, it is just the picture! The ring is handmade so you can expect some slight irregularities at this high of a magnification, but the stone is set perfectly! I removed the picture so as not to cause concern!

It's beautiful! I've been admiring that setting for a while. It's one of my favorite solitaires with a plain shank. I've had a hard time telling how high it sits though. Would you say it's medium or really high? I've also heard it's a knife edge, but I can never see that in the photos! Could you post some profile shots when you get a chance?
