Unfortunately the camera isn''t getting the pure blue right, it''s showing a bit of green/teal in the photos that isn''t at all there IRL.

Phew! I''m so glad you''re keeping this. It would, in my opinion, be a huge mistake to send it back!

Ok, also nooooooooooooooooooooo to the bezel setting. When it''s in a ring, if you only see the inclusion when you tilt the gem, it won''t show unless you tilt your hand (if you see what I mean). You definitely should play up the shape of this gem also. How about a N/S setting with a diamond trap on either side? If your budget won''t run to traps, how about two tapered baguettes next to each other on either side? Perhaps white zircons or sapphires might work if you want to keep the cost down.

Actually, this is one gemstone that I wouldn''t spare on the setting for. The colour is so sensational that I wouldn''t want to take this off!

Eeek! Poor stone is all dirty!

Thanks LD, I think this stone deserves a great setting too! But the more expensive, the more I have to wait! And I am already anxious to wear it, hehe. I will try to be good and resist setting it ASAP in a temp setting...or won't I....hmmm...

Damn! This sapphire puts the tanzanite to shame.

Looking at the next to the metal pictures, I suggest as high a karat gold setting as possible. The colour just POPS in your 99.9% yellow gold ring.

Yeah Chrono, there really isn''t anything that can compare to a gorgeous pure blue sapphire!

Mr. Ma Re: The dimensions are 6.05mm x 5.26mm and is .96 ct.

I thought the stone would be a little over the dark side judging on Gene''s photo.
Well, it turns out to be such a wonderful perfect blue.
It appeared blue blue blue in every of your photo.

I''m in love with it too........

I love this one too, but don''t know if I could replicate the proportions, I''d probably do without all the little pave too, maybe just one small diamond at the end of the baguettes.

The colour is very pretty and the stone vibrant! I was about to question you on the inclusion because I didn't see anything until that 1 super blown up picture. Is the line of scattered 'bubbles'? Is that a liquid or gas cavity?
glad to know i wasn't alone!

put the loop away and let yourself be swept away into that deep, vibrant blue.

besides, as vincent p. who used to post here a lot used to say, inclusions give a stone character.

eta: i see now that i've read the entire thread that you're keeping it! great decision!

the color!

Hehe, it''s just a little baby in size compared to most of the colored stones here! I''m surprised the color is so amazing given how small it is.

I was initially worried it might be over dark too, but I emailed Gene and he said "pure blue, med dark", and that''s all I needed to hear! He''s a great, experienced vendor so I took his word over the photo and wasn''t at all disappointed! I think if anything his gems tend to be better IRL than in photos, though usually his photos are spot on.
