Ok, I think this is a pic of the diamond, although I''m not sure if it''s just a ''sample'' pic of an asscher.

its a sample picture.
that asscher was on the list from WF you posted earlier.
neither have it in stock its a virtual diamond.
Ok, that''s what I figured. Thanks.

Ok, well I think I found someone to do the setting for me, for a very reasonable price. Now I just need to hunt down that perfect stone to fill it.

How does this one look?

good start

need actual pictures of the diamond.

I just emailed them and they said they don''t take pictures of their diamonds, becasue you can''t really tell anything anyway. Do they expect people to buy a diamond without seeing it first?

I guess they dont want to sell the diamond .....
I dont get it eather...
imho its nutz buying a fancy cut online without pictures.

No, It was David Leventhal.

Seems he had a change of heart. Said he will take some pics of it tomorrow for me.

Good luck qqq!! I don''t have anything substantive to offer, but another asscher in a halo = heaven for me, so I''m eagerly following your progress!!

LOL did he find out you were a PSer? That was a quick change of heart...glad to hear they''re keeping our asscher lovers happy. qqq can''t wait to see the pix keep us posted!

Actually to be perfectly honest, I am starting to get a little frustrated. It seems that no vendors actually carry any asschers in-house, and that I would have to pay for any shipping charges to have them brought in for pictures, idealscope, etc. I really don''t want to have to pay for stone after stone to be brought in, having no idea what they look like, and then not getting what I am looking for and being out a few hundred bucks. It seems really stupid that they wouldn''t have pictures of every stone that they offer, imo. I have contacted probably 7 or 8 places, and have yet to see an actual picture of the asscher, save for GOG.

Here is the response I got to an inquiry about getting pics for an asscher from icestore.com...

"It looks like every other perfectly cut square emerald diamond.
You can see many examples of such stones here:
http://www.icestore.com/gallery/diamond_ring_gallery_detail.asp?ID=48
http://www.icestore.com/gallery/diamond_ring_gallery_detail.asp?ID=9
If you order the diamond then of course I can send you high definition
images of the actual diamond but without the serious interest I would prefer
to avoid the costs associated with shipping the diamond back here."

"It looks like every other perfectly cut square emerald diamond.

That is completely ridiculous!! I have never seen one asscher look exactly like another, let alone like every other "perfectly cut" asscher.

No kiddin! Not to mention how subjective "perfect" is in regards to asschers.

I share your frustration.
Iv been begging and pleading with the vendors to stock more and pay attention to quality and gog has been the only one to respond so far.
Call Tim tomorrow at GOG tell him your frustration and ask for help.

Yes I second that. Tim will help you. Hang in there, I feel you pain.

Thanks guys. Yeah, Tim is actually on the lookout for me already. Also, I sent another email to icestore, telling them there is no way I would consider buying an asscher from them without first seeing it, and now they have agreed to have the stone brought in for pics.

kewl
ill try and check in from work tomorrow and see if they are posted yet and let you know what I think.

Thanks storm!

qqq,

I believe the asscher you inquired about at facets.com was the same diamond I inquired about and they said the same thing about no pictures. They basically said pictures were useless and didn''t do the diamond justice...so I should take their word for it?????

Pictures are important when spending mucho moolah on a diamond!

Absolutely, I can''t even understand that they would think someone would spend thousands of dollars on something they haven''t seen. It makes no sense.

Of course you need pics! I''m in the process of buying my asscher and I wouldn''t dream of buying a diamond I haven''t seen! Always get pictures....and then post on here for expert opinions. That''s what I did and it is very helpful.

That''s the plan. Should hopefully have some pics today to post. Keeping my finger crossed.
