Didn't realise my friend's amethyst earrings were missing in the previous post.

More expensive jadeite teapot and cups set. These are a few hundred dollars per set owing to the material and carving. The lion set is very old stock. They don't have so much material to waste anymore nor do the younger carvers do this. Very solid and not as many fracture lines as newer jadeite sets. 20170924_173353.jpg 20170924_173407.jpg 20170924_173421.jpg 20170924_173454.jpg 20170909_130656.jpg 20170909_153702.jpg 20170909_153711.jpg 20170909_153719.jpg

Just like Chinese royalty ;-) i think these quartz sets would be affordable but will chip easily from usage and small knocks. Strictly for display!

2.99ct purplish pink and 4.2 ct grey Mogok spinels that are under us$150 each. Native cuts with decent proportions and no PS dreaded windows. Eye clean to me. The grey has a slight tinge of brown not captured by the phone camera and is a tad lighter than in photos.

Also, a 1.17ct Mogok untreated blue sapphire with pretty good colour. 20170928_182510.jpg 20170928_182456.jpg IMG-20170928-WA0011-1.jpg 20170928_184823-1.jpg 20170928_184917-1.jpg

Super pretty! I love that grey spinel. Grey stones can be so magic, especially echoing the grey skies in changing seasons. The little blue sapphire is powerfully radiant. Any ideas for these stones?

The sapphire's just brought back for a friend to view along with other darker ones. But I thought this was the nicest blue of the lot around us600-750 and over 1 ct :)

No plans for these 2 spinels, just much needed shopping therapy first.

These are the pieces I brought back for her to view. She's looking to buy a few to set into rings for her lucky bffs but prefers darker blues much as I try to convince otherwise!

L-R top row 1.26ct, 1.02ct, 1.17ct.
Bottom row a pair of 1.28ct and 1.47ct cushions and a teardrop over 1.5ct but since it was transferred to another box it doesn't have the weight state. The teardrop is really old stock and just $350! I imagine it was probably under 100 when purchased from the trader by my jewellers! 20170929_011800-1.jpg 20170929_011724-1.jpg 20170929_011815-1.jpg

Type A jadeite with nice proportions. A pale greyish bluish green with some coloured veins. Cocktail ring size, baby! 20170930_161218.jpg 20170930_161222.jpg 20170930_152454.jpg 20170930_152345.jpg 20170930_152337-1.jpg 20170930_152324.jpg 20170930_152257.jpg
What a lovely size and shape! It's very soft and dreamy.I think you are actually missing a big ring in your collection, right? A cocktail ring would be fabulous with it!

Looks an even color. Do you see salts up close?

Sent ya the close ups against the light. You can see the green vein down 1 side near the edge and the white streaks. But at this price, not complaining.

Bluegemz, I asked a jade mine owner today and also got him to check that my new cab is type A and some other tips :)

He says the real icy jade is harder to find than real imperial greens. China would be your best bet to source for a good one since they are in demand there, same for lavender jadeite. His joint mines thus far have not yielded icy ones these decades. I've also asked my jewellers to ask around. I trust you want a real icy jadeite and not those that sellers pepper "icy" so liberally in the titles on the websites, yes?

I'm trying to negotiate for this cab under 500, so am happy with the price and size. This is a keeper for me even if the original price doesn't budge. This jadeite at this size and pricepoint, not that common. The jade mine owner mentioned above told me he does find in his mines from time to time. Well, they go straight to the jade emporium auction as these mines are production sharing.

Thank you for asking around and filling me in! That makes perfect sense and seems like the star sapphire market too, since the best are immediately spoken for and go straight to China. You are right, I am looking for a true, ice glass with almost no color. I'm trying to save and make that something which I spend time looking for 'the one' lol! That's what happened with me and the 2 star rings. I was looking for quite a while before finding the right ones which really satisfied me. I've found a few online that I like, but I'm trying not to be impulsive and to force myself to keep waiting, and looking.

The Chinese market is strong. Occasionally, we get great trickle down over here. For example, I recently saw a grade A, 10mm imperial green beaded necklace sold for 20k, where as I'm sure that's a fraction of its value elsewhere. It actually broke my heart because it was SUCH an opportunity! So I just have to keep looking looking hoprfully with some luck!

If it had awesome translucency and imperial green towards yellow spectrum than blue, no veins, even green, 20k is nothing! Oh my! You wouldn't happen to have photos, have you? :)

Getting off the imperial jadeite high, some random photos today with a lavender jade boulder with nice patches. No deal with the trader as the owner's reserve was too high. 20170930_143426.jpg 20170930_143306.jpg 20170930_143309.jpg 20170930_144100.jpg

A pair of A jadeite, these are a nice green, decent translucency, small rounds and medium domes. 2k. Too much methinks. They are towards the blue spectrum. 20170930_141641-1.jpg 20170930_141453-1.jpg 20170930_141509-1.jpg 20170930_141558-1.jpg

Gorgeous all of them. I think all jade has beauty. That's what's so addictive about this gem. Here's another hand carved beaded necklace. Apparently came from Sotheby's in Hong Kong. Asking 8k but can be potentially reduced to half that.

The earrings are lovely. Actually, I personally prefer towards the blue spectrum in some imperial related shades.

Floating flower pattern. 飘兰花。nice length and 4k seems reasonable.

Yes, the texture, translucence colors are beautiful and hard to find. It's not for me because I'm trying to stay focused. But it's great to behold!

Just for laughs. 10mm opaque floating flower jadeite necklace for us$45 family price. A grade. Translucency and texture make a real world of difference! I didn't get it. 20171001_142753.jpg 20171001_142807.jpg 20171001_142801.jpg

It is so amazing what a difference texture and related translucence make! The necklace is lovely though. It looks like it has some translucence and moisture. The true floating flower beads are hard to come by. Partially because the material is often used for pendants since beads require a high amount of waste, and because floating flowers are mostly in translucent jade. I see floating flowers in bangles often, but rarely in any kind of beads. This bangle would possibly go with the beads! I love the combo of lavender jade with green flowers. This bangle has an interesting waxy texture.
