Idealscopes of two diamonds

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to learn to read the idealscope images I’ve received from a vendor. Here are the two diamonds:

D1:
1.67
H SI1
B826C3D0-729A-4839-A3D4-3636D3FCE95F.jpeg
68E25D6D-2ABC-45B3-ABDB-3251C2C3B972.jpeg

Is this idealscope showing light leakage under the table or is it just reflecting different lights?

D2:
1.57
F SI1
BEF2B421-7F95-4C88-9229-6DA3E632CC42.jpeg 90D6291B-C92D-4B19-AA9B-0ACC4C4C2523.jpeg

Does it matter that this idealscope image appears darker?

Which one of the two would have a better light performance? To me, they seem comparable, but I could be totally wrong...

Also, the D1 is about 1500$ more expensive despite being smaller face up.. is that worth a trade off with a higher colour grade??

Sorry for so many questions! I’m such a newbie

Thanks so much for your help!

The second one is better IMHO. the first one isn't what most of us would recommend (it's a 60/60 style rather than traditional ideal cut). You can search for more info btw the 2 stlyes, but if you are new to stone buying I'd stick within the parameters we recommend:

54-58 table
60-62.4 depth
34-35 crown
40.6-40.8 pav

Stone 2 does that. And HCA score (to check if angles work together) is under 2, which is another check we use on stones.

How much is the vendor asking for it?

Are you sure D1 faces up smaller?

You’re right! It was a typo! I meant D2 faces up smaller and 1500$ more.

D1 is $11,500 vs D2 $13,000. But D2 is 0.3mm smaller which isn’t a big issue for me as long as it has ++sparkles

What about the Idealscope themselves? Would they be considered as good light performance??

The second one, yes. Is the stone eye clean? Do you have pictures/video?

If you are willing to drop to G color, you can get a branded super ideal (best of the best), from a trusted vendor with a $1 upgrade policy for almost the same price. For me, I'd prefer the security of buying from one of the best companies out there.

both pass the ideal scope test with flying colors.
The rule is that the lightest area in the center is your gauge for any meaningful leakage.
This a computer generated image of a diamond with 0 deviations that is impossible to achieve in the real world with just back lighting and has proportions in the ideal range.
The exact pattern will change depending on the proportions but all MRB diamonds have it.

Further you can tell if the diamond is tilted in the scope by looking at the arrow shafts, the long arrow shaft(s) point in the direction of the tilt.
The first is tilted a bit the second is less tilted.

Thanks for the great explanation. Is there any noticeable difference between the two? I’m trying to pick between the two and decide if it’s worth going with D2 with 1500$ more. Also, are these good prices for their specs?

A search above will find you some comps on prices.
Yes there would be a noticeable difference in the diamonds personality but I cant say either is a bad diamond.
Are they both eye clean?

I’ve been reassured that they’re both eye clean!
