Marian, it's BEAUTIFUL!!!
30.gif

But your current setting is BEAUTIFUL too!
30.gif

I'm so torn!
39.gif

Could you maybe post a handshot of your current set for comparison? Purty please? (I'm just not sure I'm getting the full effect from your avatar pic.)
21.gif
This isn't one of my best pics, but it's a full hand photo so it makes a better comparison, I think. This shot shows more brilliance. The first pic in the jewelry store, due to lighting, shows more fire. In the second pic, my hand was facing down, out of the lights, so we could get a shot of the wedding band. Two very different looks. I love them both
30.gif
I'm going on the "butterfly effect," at this point

Ohhhh, Marian!!! I still don''t know! I really like the halo, but your current set is my DREAM set! I''ve always loved shared-prong eternity bands, and yours are . . . WOW!!!!!
23.gif

So, basically, I''m afraid I''m no help at all.

Don''t worry about it

They are both beautiful sets, IMO, too. I hope you get your dream set soon

I decided to reverse the photos to fingertips up for a better comparison...

Why didn't I do this in the first place

I love both sets, but I think I love your original set just a little bit more. Although the gallery on that halo is TDF!!

The new set is beautiful but I too love your old set (yes, I even covet it

).

But I know what you mean by DSS and wearing the same thing for a long time. As long as
you keep your old setting so you can go back to it at some point if you wish then I guess
why not?

I have a halo and I love it. With that said, I love your current set a lot more. I think I''m biased thought since I favor halos on the smaller stones, not on a diamond your size.

Your current setting is a keeper, I think it is timeless!

HI:

Gorgeous choice--and looks very well on your hand. But, really, I forbid it.

The possible new setting is gorgeous!

Since I''ve recently joined PS, your current ring has been one of my favorites. But since you have had it for 14 years, I don''t think you can go wrong with the new one. You have great taste either way!

I know that you really prefer a smaller looking center stone, don''t you

I''ve been away a couple of days and come back to find this saga going on! Ha!

The new halo is beautiful - HOF doesn''t produce much that isn''t - but I do love your existing set. They are two completely different looks - both beautiful - but a real toss up.

There is nothing worse than finding something you really like and having others rain on your parade. I am heartened by the fact that your jeweler would work with you if in the future you decided you wanted to go back to your current set or back to something non halo. It must be a good feeling to know that you are not ''stuck'' with anything you should choose - the power of choice is very important for us diamond lovers!

I will simply wish you the best - you have exquisite taste and lovely hands to display that taste. Do what makes your heart sing - we''ll certainly hum along with you!!

I love it! It looks great on you, and if it will permanently cure DSS, then yah!

I like your original set more. Classic. The other one is lovely but trendy. How about the Halo with a colored stone for the right hand? (enabling)

I love that so many poster love my current set. I haven''t the same set for 14 year, but the same style. I wore a similar style during my first [10 year] marriage, but it was a three-stone ering with a five-stone w-ring. After 24 years, I do think I''d like to try something different. I have some questions for my jeweler and then we shall see. This thread has been so much fun. Thanks for joining the party!! I do truly need one

I didn''t think it would be such a saga

With HOF, if you want to change diamonds, settings, whatever, there is no problem. I will double check with my jeweler. I''ve always wanted the look of a larger center stone. I''m not going to get it by upgrading that anytime soon. I''ll let you know when to start singing

Now, April, enabling me to buy another ring...shame, shame

You are a true PSer

Sigh...you and your long slender fingers can wear so many setting styles. I have the opposite problem but will try not to post green, ha.

I certainly agree your current set is gorgeous and classic. That said, I think the set under consideration flatters your hand a bit more...your finger can take that coverage!

Disclaimer: I think halos are a timeless look. They may come in and out of fashion but they always have STYLE.

yes, your set is one of my top favs here, that''s why I jumped to respond despite being kind of shy and hesitant to post opinions.

Since you want something different, I think you will enjoy the "halo look". I hope I didn''t come across as a party pooper!!!!

I love your set now, but I definitely understand the need for a blingy halo
9.gif
I really love the new setting on your hand and it sounds as if you are totally enamored. Go for it

Thank you Vix! You''re not posting green, but my fingers are blushing

Now, the best of both worlds would be to have both wedding sets, hmmm.....who am I kidding

Got the "halo bug" did ya?
I still prefer your current setting, it''s definitely one of my favs!

Your current setting is beautiful... but eventhough i`m not usually into halos, your new potential set just blew me away! It`s gorgeous and looks awesome on you!!! So I say, go for it.

(Disclosure: Potential bias as I`m currently suffering from severe DSS myself.)
