I have been looking at the HOF Significance Solitaire for some time now. I tried it on--again--today. It''s very different than my current rings. If I make the change, my jeweler will need to custom order a curved wedding band to go with it. I wore the set at the jewelers for about an hour, while waiting for my rings to be polished. I had the jeweler take some pics for me and you

If I make this change, it's the end of DSS. I feel that these will be my forever rings. I'm going to take the weekend to think about it. DH is on board with the new set, so that's all good. This will be the first time that I'm choosing my own settings. I'm nervous--in a good way

I'm trying to post a pic from the HOF site, but so far no luck...It has a good view of the gallery.

The new possible setting looks beautiful on you!!!

But I love the HOF you have now!

Any reason why you want to change?

I have been wearing the same style of ring for about 14 years. When I upgraded to HOF my husband and I chose the same setting, albeit much nicer, as my original wedding set. I love my current wedding set, too! I''m just feeling it might be time to have a change. I also suffer from the dreaded PS condition, DSS
2.gif
With this setting, I believe that I will be satisfied for the long term. Don''t cry, soocool. If I don''t like it, I can always change it back. My jeweler is infinitely patient with me!!

Thanks for taking pictures!

I love the proposed setting and curved band. Love it.

Buuuuuuut,

My 0.02 worth is that lots of PS''ers go halo and regret it. Many more don''t but it is worth bearing in mind; are you happy with the big bling look for every day?

Also - I would get 2 matching bands to be symmetrical

Marian the Significance solitaire is just gorgeous and with your big beautiful diamond that halo style should provide a permanent cure for DSS!!! I have to say though that personally I hate to see your other setting go. It is one of my all time favorites, but I understand wanting a change and you are the one who needs to be happy with what you see on your finger! Either way you can't go wrong with the quality of a Hearts on Fire setting and I have had great luck with my pave.

I am happy with the big bling look! My rings are pretty blingy in their current settings, too. I did try two matching bands, but thought it was too much for my hand. I can always change my mind with such enablers...not naming names...to influence me

I LOVE IT! Will the center stone be the same size? I think the proportions are perfect! I really really love your current setting, too.

I love my current settings, too. I keep thinking about wanting to get a bigger stone and with HOF, the budget just won''t stretch that far. When I tried on the Significance it gave me just the look I''ve been craving. I didn''t want the big halo on a tiny band look. This is a bit more substantial. There are eight tiny claw prongs and the gallery is beautiful. This will be very different for me. I won''t be getting the ultrasonic I was thinking about, due to the pave. I''m glad to hear that yours has done well. Even though I haven''t officially decided, I have butterflies in my stomach. I think this may be the one

The center stone in the pic is about .30 ct smaller than my stone. It really is a beautiful ring. DH said the style looked antique with the halo. He is really learning about jewelery with all the time we spend at the shop

I have cleaned my HOF ring with pave in an ultrasonic cleaner weekly for four years now and I have yet to lose a stone. My setting is white gold not platinum though so I don''t know if that makes any difference.

I thought so! It'll look even better with your bigger rock - perfect, actually with 30 points more! This is going to be one spectacular halo! DH didn't like halos until I tried one on. He saw it in the window and said, "You want to try on that spaceship?" On my hand, he went, "WOW!" It does look like it could be an heirloom or vintage piece... but it also looks fresh and current. Love it.

Marian, that potential setting is pretty, of course, but I think your current setting is soooo much more timeless. I just think I might get tired of the halo look after awhile. I''m sure it would be beautiful, but yours now is so beautiful!

Thank you for the feedback, diamondseeker. I have been going back and forth about this setting in my mind for over a year now. I love them both, so it is a difficult decision, but the worse that can happen is that I change my mind

Thanks for your comments, which are always helpful

I agree 100%.

To Marian, although I had a halo that I soon tired of because it felt too `big` and fancy, this ring looks superbly made, very pretty and really suits your hand. I especially like it with just one wedding band because it makes it less symetrical and serious. One band is more casual and fun.

Sometimes you just have to get a halo out of your system and enjoy it for the ride, however long that will be. If you ever do change your mind, you can always swap a coloured stone into it and have a fabulous rhr!

And hof are one of the sparkilest settings out there, and I would be pretty excited to be getting one if I had the chance!!!!!

I think it looks fantastic, but I sure do love your current ring, I visit pictures of your ring quite often, but you must do what will make you happy

This ring is big and fancy for sure! After a year of going back and forth about it, I think I just need to go for it. I'm pleased that so many of you love of my current set. I do too. My DH said it looked very elegant on my hand. The workmanship is outstanding. I'll keep you all up to date

Thanks for letting me know about the US. I know that HOF guarantees their pave, as well. I''m also thinking of getting a Jewel Jet [I think that is what the steamer is called] to use after a dip in the jewelry cleaner. DH suggested using the vegetable steamer instead
