S diamonds are not ugly. Colorless (DEF range) diamonds are considered more valuable because they are rarer, but some people like the warmer shades of diamonds. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. Congratulations on your new diamond!!Date: 7/14/2009 3:39:39 PM

It was me--I'm the one who bought Wink's 1.45 S I1, this diamond.
It's spectacular. The color of sunshine.
Will someone please explain to me why S color is supposed to be ugly? I don't understand it at all. I like it just as much as colorless--it's different, but no less beautiful.
The clarity is perfect for me, too. I can see a little ring of inclusions under the table if I look very close. I like that--I think it's romantic to see little baby diamonds inside my diamond.
Pictures will follow, but they don't do this beauty justice.
No time today to go look at that thread but I can tell you this, that is the first AGS0 cut grade S color diamond that I have ever seen. I do not recall seeing many more either, of any cut. For sure I have seen a LOT more DEF colored diamonds than S colored.Date: 7/29/2009 10:00:25 PM

Thank you, Beechezz & Tourm.
Tourm, they do say that DEF is rarer than S. But nobody seems to know for sure. Did you see this thread?
(Oh, I see you must have seen it--you posted in it.)

Thank you, Storm & Beechezz!
I've contacted Julia Taylor, the Etsy seller whose sketch Upgradable posted above, about making me a sterling bezel setting inspired by James Meyer's, but simpler. She says she's a little backed up with other projects, so it might be a while, though.

VRBeauty, of course I don''t mind! I''m delighted to share it. And even if I weren''t, it''s not my call--it''s Julia''s design, not mine, so she can make it for whoever she likes.
