I forgive you for the personal attack that no way represents how I am. Everyone gets angry once in a while and says stuffs.

I said most was funny and I will specify that its in a grade/high school kinda way. What does it say that at 50 I still like that kind of humor?
Name calling about a handicap or misdirected kid are not kewl.

First off, my original post wasn't a personal attack and I clarified why in my follow-up.

Second, thank you for acknowledging that name calling is not okay.

Yeah, I'm outraged and I don't see strong emotions as a reason to feel ashamed. Why wouldn't any patriot be outraged by how low Trump has dragged our country?

It's okay to have feelings. It's obvious that you do too given the words you've used and how quickly you're replying to everything like I am. I hope someday you'll be comfortable with owning what you feel rather than pretending that you don't feel things passionately and get angry too. (I know it's hard to read tone but I mean that sincerely.)

I do have feelings and get angry. Your tone always comes across as nasty and combative so I respond in kind. What you say about your fellow Americans is disgusting to me because you don't know me or Karl or the_mother_thing but you assume much about all of us. I can never tell with you if it's to gain points with those who think like you or what your reasons are but it is not right, good, or kind IMO.

ETA - you can be angry all you want but don't direct it at me personally.

Well, there's no catalog to exchange virtue points for bling, so that's not it. Is it really so hard to believe that what I post comes out of genuine anger & frustration? I don't think I will change any minds, but if Karl wants to start the day repeating Trump talking points about the media and complaining about name calling, then yeah, I'm going to point out the hypocrisy.

For all the negative thing I've had to say about Trump and his supporters, I've tried to be mindful of citing facts in support of those arguments. You're right that I don't know much about you, Karl, or TMT beyond what you post here, but what I do know is that all three of you have expressed your willingness to vote for him. This is in spite of the huge laundry list of terrible things that he has done for which there is no Democratic equivalent to rationalize away with "both sides!"

I draw the line at supporting a misogynist & racist and I think it's wrong that those things are not a deal breaker for everyone. You can say you don't like everything about Trump and you can even say you strongly disagree with him on a lot of things, but at the end of the day if you still choose to vote for him then you've bought everything he stands for. That's not right, good, or kind.

I think many Trump voters don't actually like Trump, but just vote party.

I admit to this too.
To me any Dem is better than any Rep.

But I'm just glad I'm not a Rep, as I'd have to slit my wrists in the booth after voting for Trump.
This man is that bad.

I think a lot of Americans vote with their wallet, not their brains. If the economy is doing well they're happy to see the trend continue and willing to overlook a lot of very bad things.

I came to the conclusion long ago that Trump was teflon. Absolutely nothing sticks to him. All the people he screwed over when his business failed - you don't hear about that. Trump repulses me. His entire focus is on himself and what will benefit him. It makes no difference what happens to others, they don't even exist in Trump world. Trump is one very nice thing....he is incredibly lucky. From being born on 3rd place and thinking he hit a triple to all the lousy, self-serving things he's done as a president that he's never going to have to answer for. He's very, very lucky. And countries tend to get the leaders they deserve, and that is pretty depressing.

i hope we can start to all move beyond that because the parties themselves are failing us...they've become machines fine tuned to win elections vs. fine tuned to govern well

...i was a registered independent at first, then democrat, i haven't voted for a republican yet but i would cast a ballot for someone like john mccain over, say, oprah if she ran on the democratic ticket

and while i think the dems to a somewhat better job owning their failures and correcting for them there's still lots of rot on both sides. for example hunter biden should not have taken that job offer may not have been overt corruption but it was nepotism and a company buying proximity to power and both he and his dad know better.

But only a rep or dem can win, so I won't waste my vote.

To me what individuals of a party do is less important (when it comes to whom to vote for) than the values of the party itself, and again only a candidate who is D or R can win.

This is a post I can completely understand and respond to civilly. Of course I believe you have genuine anger and fear. I believe many Americans do. But you cannot project all of that onto every other person on this forum who disagrees with you when it comes to politics. Conservatives have tried to discuss their reasons here but it always devolves into a poo flinging affair. The longest thread was started by a wonderful lady who doesn't even post anymore and was always trying to be civil and courteous to everyone. There are a few posters here I have on ignore because they are so nasty that I don't want to read what they say on any subject, even jewelry. But I do not with you because you can be nice and you have plenty of great views and comments on other subjects. It would be nice to have a civil discussion with you but if we can't then its probably best to ignore each other rather than have hard feelings. Truce?

IMO, those selfish, ME ME Me voters SUCK!!!!!!!!!!
Keep the rich rich, and screw the poor.

There are exceptions, but I see republicans more about ME ME ME,
But I see democrats as more about US US US - so lift up the poor, and tax the rich.:clap:

I don't want communism or socialism, just compassion.

In all seriousness, I may not share many of your political views but I do respect that you’ve raised your children to serve our country and your love for them is plain as day.

Thank you. This brought a little choke in my throat and is much appreciated.

That's the reason why I'm asking my liberal friends here to donate $100 ea. towards my next upgrade b/c they have so much compassion.:clap:

Have you guys been reading that Trump is considering cuts in Medicare?
Yea not happy about it but it will never pass congress so not worried about it and he is already walking it back.
It does need some serious reform and this time dont let big pharma write the rules.

I can't even bear to talk politics any more with some very dear American friends who are Dems
Actually my Bruce Springsteen online community closed down their political forum because the majority couldn't cope with a few conservatives - none of whome even supported Trump in the last election
Its pretty hard being a rightie right now, we all get tarred with the same brush

I must say however, watching the news tonight, things just got interesting

I find it interesting that the media is so enamored and interested in that war monger John Bolton who would have bombed Iran in a millisecond. They have hated him for decades but I guess he is useful now. He was by far the worst appointee Trump chose and I said so at the time.

He is a war monger and a deeply conservative man. The reason why the press is talking about him is because if he testifies he will corroborate what the democrats have presented. I have disliked Trump since the 70s, nothing new there either.. John Bolton has a lot of power in the conservative arena. For me, Trump's worst appointee has been DeVos and I said so at the time, nothing like having an heiress who makes her money on pyramid scams to run the education department, of course states should run their own education departments actually, we don't need an education department in the federal government.

If he had anything to say about any other subject the media would not give him the the time of day because they have done it for years. I have a vested interest in John Bolton not being in charge of dog catching.

He's not my kind of conservative. Neither was McCain who also became the media darling.

Betsy Devos versus John Bolton...that's like a corrupt Minnie Mouse whose parents never sent her to school versus Albert Einstein's brother who was really into karate and kickboxing .
