Well I break my rule by posting again here, but off politics....I originally came to PS in 2001 when I was looking for a diamond for my 25th anniversary. I ended up with a .54 ct EightStar which found its way to a pinky ring for myself since The Rodentwoman didn't want it. Don't know why. Now my #1 son is getting married so it goes to him.

I somehow got involved with DT :angryfire: which IMHO became a morass and Nathan booted a bunch of folks. Having turned more toward watches than diamonds or jewelry I devoted a lot of time to watch forums. One of the major ones was "run" by a clique of a couple dozen snooty millionaires. If you didn't own a Ferrari, McLaren, or Lambo you were excrement and treated as such. Also it was anti 2nd amendment. I got booted twice (you can ban an ISP but you really can't ban a PERSON). Now I am done with those braggarts and their $400 dinners, $1,000 shoes, and $300k cars.

So here I am. If I post a photo that I posted years ago, please forgive me.

Sorry for the derail. You can go back to Trump now.

I didn't know there was one! I was waiting for an erudite interview that I have been assured is coming: one with Stormy Daniels. ;))

Rolexforums.com

You (and others here) MIGHT post there, and that's your choice of course.
If you say anything against HP cars, flipping, bitcoins, $400 meals, "travel" photos with a blurred out background and some Rolex in the foreground, 347 year old Scotch, you're not welcome. And it's "owned" in Australia so they don't acknowledge the 2nd amendment. I do.
I won't make any further comments about them since, as with politics, there is no upside IMHO.

I saw some excerpts and I know I cannot watch the entire thing. I also cannot handle what Trump is doing to McCabe. If I hear any coverage of that I may have a stroke. I don't know why that is the last straw for me, but it is. Trump being able to fire him and deny him his pension a couple of days before he was due to retire because he can...and because he is is corrupt to his core...makes me ill. We do live in a banana republic. We have no rule of law. There is no recourse for justice. No wonder Qatar won't go to Mueller, just knuckles under to Trump.

What a shocker. Trump admits to making up facts. Bwahaha that is a real news flash. Not.

Trump Admits Making Up Trade Claim in Trudeau Talk

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESSMARCH 15, 2018, 7:12 A.M. E.D.T.

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump freestyled with the facts when talking trade with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The Republican described the discussion during a fundraising speech in St. Louis on Wednesday.

According to audio obtained by The Washington Post , Trump insisted that the United States runs a trade deficit with Canada.

Trump said Trudeau told him there was no trade deficit. Trump said he replied, "'Wrong, Justin, you do.' I didn't even know. ... I had no idea. I just said, 'You're wrong.'"

Trump claimed the figures don't include timber and energy.

However, the Office of the United States Trade Representative says the United States has a trade surplus with Canada.

I just really hope Trump can keep his trigger finger and chaotic corrupt WH staffers off of Shukin. I was disappointed as anyone in hearing of his scandal. But- he is competent. He has a background in both medicine and in administration. He has been tirelessly working and learning about the VA; both it's complexities and where we can improve. He has been pushing through reform. But also understands how the VA can provide caring, specialist and continuation of care to vets like no one else. I hope Trump can restrain himself.

What worries me is Trump listens to no one and as we’ve all seen repeatedly he has no self restraint. People can provide him with fact after fact in areas he has no expertise and he still thinks his opinion is the only one that matters. The only exception I have seen is Trump bowing down to the NRA. Apparently giving him 30 million dollars is the only way to get him to listen.

Completely off topic, there are rumors that Don Jr’s wife is about to file for divorce.

And, he rarely sticks to a decision. Changes his mind like the wind changes direction. My new pet name for him is flip flop flip flop.png

Canada released a statement basically saying they are not sure if/when the conversation where trump explained that he flat out lied to Trudeau happened.
Wow, what if trump lied to those people at the closed door meeting about lying to a world leader and he literally made it ALL up in that sick head of his. I saw that sanders said he was joking about the bowling ball test when he was illustrating how japan is “unfair” to the US.
Sadly it wouldnt surprise me if trump made the whole thing up. he is a pathological liar. Lying about having a conversation where he nonchalantly claims he lied to other countries sounds entirely like something he would do without blinking an eye. he is beyond messed up. There is no rock bottom for the man. he makes everyone around him worse. he uses them and when they do not make him happy anymore he chews them up and casts them out just to be a bully. he couldn’t be bothered to fire the secretary of state in person. If I remember he literally left priebus’ car behind. Comey found out on tv. trump has no class and no dignity, just a sick ego that must be pampered.

Senator Flake is right, the republicans don’t deserve to be in charge if they will follow trump literally anywhere. I am waiting to see who my local democratic canidate will be for congressman this year so I can send a sizeable donation. I was contacted to go to the caucus at the end of march and donate for the republican candidate this week. I wrote them back- they better not call this year either. They will not like what I have to say if they call for donations this time.
If anyone had told me 4 years ago I would be donating to the democratic party for the 2018 election I would have told them they were delusional and to seek help. I never thought I would watch the republican party become what it has become. I thought there was a moral compass somewhere in there.
I was wrong. There is no moral center. They will lie about anything and follow him anywhere.

I am frightened that it has already gone too far. Russia can turn off our electricity and nuclear power now.* Qatar knuckles under to Trump because it fears his personal ability for retribution more than the arm of the law (Mueller). McCabe, one of the highest ranking members of the FBI ever, can be fired without cause-and lose his pension- in plain sight by Trump without any protest from anyone with power in the United States.

It's too late now. Fait accompli. Trump has consolidated his power.

McCabe gone!...wonder who else he'll take with him?. He will not go down alone.

His firing — which was recommended by the FBI office that handles discipline — stems from a Justice Department inspector general investigation that found McCabe authorized the disclosure of sensitive information to the media about a Clinton-related case, then misled investigators about his actions in the matter, people familiar with the matter have said. He stepped down earlier this year from the No. 2 job in the bureau after FBI Director Christopher A. Wray was briefed on the inspector general’s findings, though he technically was still an employee.

If the IG report provided to the OPR found that McCabe was guilty of "lack of candor" IOW lying, then he should be fired. The OPR recommended he be fired, just like the other FBI employees that have been fired in recent years for the same thing. Being at the top of the food chain should not provide cover. I was ok with the firing of Flynn if he lied. Does it happen to be politically beneficial for Sessions, sure but that doesn't make it incorrect to do it.

I'm enough of a cynic to say that McCabe's firing is also beneficial to Mueller's investigation. Anything tainting the integrity of the FBI will also taint Mueller's work. It is painful, though, to see McCabe fired for "lack of candor" by a man (Sessions) who exercised the same during Senate investigations and outright lied on his security clearance form. And the cherry on top of this debacle is that both men report to someone as dishonest as drumpf. If one lie is too many for the integrity of the FBI why is it ok, even celebrated, when the leader of the country lies with impunity. Fire drumpf too.

I'm not clear on why the FBI's integrity being tainted, and therefore tainting Mueller, would be beneficial to Mueller's investigation. Am I overthinking something? I have been reading about all of this for too long!
