help me find my dream OMC elongated warmer ideally 2.5 - 3 ct [or "spready"]

You have some good options there @TnTWalter

I guess it really comes down on how important size is for you. What's your finger size for reference? Also what setting are you leaning towards? This could help with the size a bit.

my finger is 6-7 depending on day lol
I am leaning towards a bezel setting and maybe side stones or a design on the sides. I'll attach an inspiration pic, but I'd do more square/rectangle two-tone and diamonds on side.

My current ring is OEC 3 stone bezel with tiny stones [my avatar].

I also thought that one looked amazing. I wonder how big it is?
it's just over 3 carats but just slightly larger than the 2.63 I posted above with measurements of 8.92x7.90x6.13 M and VS2. very good price so I could maybe surround it with diamonds to make it feel bigger. Of course I'd have to hope to get it.

It does have a strong blue florescence. Thoughts on that?

the 3.13 carat is 9.33x8.77x5.97 L VS2

Thanks!!

@K9

Fluorescence is very personal, I think. Betting it makes the stone face up much whiter. Jocelyn doesn’t normally sell stones that go milky with fluorescence. She has a great eye for that stuff.

I'm kindof excited about that one.

That setting is beautiful and I'm sure the difference in size is minimal. My bezel adds about 1.2mm to my stone.

My personal favourite is the 3.13ct. You'll know when a stone sings to you.

I’m not concerned about Fluor it’s rare to cause issues and her video is in bright sunlight.

This looks like a repro setting. Like Erstwhile or Single Stone. It’s pretty tho. Diamond is lovely and looks antique

I’ve seen Maven Lane market things I’ve been highly skeptical of - eg she was selling a poorly cut MRB as a transitional a few years back and I tried to engage in a convo about it but …I have no way of knowing for sure but the GIA report didn’t make sense from memory

Oh yeah-I remember this one! :lol-2:

just saw this one. thank you it's pretty a little too much color for me but sparkly and love the price. do you recommend that shop? I'll add it to the list.

I don't know them but returnable-sometimes it's worth a look...

Gilded lane has a pretty one on her preview. Tomorrow at 5 pm est it will be available.

I also love it. The stone literally is throwing the most beautiful glitter in that video. What a dancer that one is!

Ooh, that one. It actually glitters.

How does it compare to sakos 3.13? It will be less expensive.

Im hoping if it's meant for me, I'll get it.

It’s lovely.

I don’t recall the 3.13 can you repost a link?

It's LVS2 slightly larger not elongated no florescence and quite a bit more $

I love it! It'll be cheaper than the 3.13 L.. I'll be setting my alarm and jump on it if the price is right.

Basically it comes down to your preference in the faceting. Sako's one is more perfect/organised if that's what you're looking for and obviously a pillowy cushion that's 1:1.

Jocelyn's one is a little bit more chaotic but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I like the unpredictable because it's got more personality and you'll never be bored of looking at it. It's still a very pretty stone. I know you prefer the elongated shape as well so that's something you'll have to consider. I also think the fluorescence is really cool! Some people love it and some people don't. Lol better for the ones that love it though haha less competition.

As the 3.13 is gone, I am not sure I'd compare it to any new prospects. That said, I'll still do a little comparing. :)

The 3.13 was not really elongated and you did say you wanted elongated, so the 3.06 checks that box specifically.

Size-wise, the 3.06 has a footprint roughly .4mm and .7mm smaller. Once set, this is not going to be noticeable.

I personally don't mind fluorescence so that's a non-issue for me.

Beyond that, trust your eyes and what pleases them. The charm of these old cuts is that they behave so wildly different from one another. The 3.06 looks to have a lot of personality (I am also catching some kozibe in that video), but it's hard to tell with just the one video. A perspective shot on the hand will also help you (and I know she is good about adding those to her listings.)

Good luck!

I'm not sure how I feel about florescence and chaos lol. Hopefully she'll post more videos.

Thank you. My husband said the same about size. I saw the kozibe. I'm looking forward to more pics and vids.

It looks like a very pretty stone to me! It's the shape you want too. I'm not an expert at all but when I was looking the things that bothered me were darkness of the center facets and fisheyes and this diamond doesn't seem to have those. I don't think the florescence would bother me but it sounds like it's a factor that might help with your decision.

Shopping for antique diamonds is weird lol. It can be hard to pull the trigger. There's that feeling that maybe there's one out there that we'll like better. At the same time there's the worry that we're letting a good one get away! Agree with K9, a perspective shot on the hand will give you a better idea of the size.

What does the 3.13 look like from the side?

I prefer Jocelyn’s stone based only on these videos.

Congrats! It ticks all the boxes. Such a pretty and cool stone and faces up nice and white too. I think it would fit perfectly with that setting you had in mind.
