help me find my dream OMC elongated warmer ideally 2.5 - 3 ct [or "spready"]

Did you get a cert on the 3.13 L? I wonder if the girdle is bruted.

How do you feel about warmth? The N looks pretty. Like @Dreamer_D the setting has me a bit perplexed. The basket is very similar to the platinum Art Deco baskets of my five stone.

Here's the GIA GIA-3.13.jpg

sako sold the 3.13 ct stone so that's off the table. I'm back to the drawing board!
if you see anything and think of me, let me know!

thanks all!

Yes I thought it had a fleur de lis feel.

I’d need more pictures but both stones look promising.

The setting is puzzling. The head looks authentic by the shank does not to me. Its pretty either way.

Another video for fun

Yes the diamond is about as good as it gets, though of course it needs to be evaluated in person to be sure.

Oh good to know I can "see it". Its maven lane antiques. Someone should buy it! I love their stuff and their prices seem fair.

I just had my heart set on something that I haven't found yet. I guess or I have missed a couple times.

The pricing is all over the place. So that's frustrating.

Sako s 3.13 carat OMC was $20,000. I saw a similar ish Stone and inquired about it. 70,000!!!

I'm so glad you can go see it. You need to see it and see what your eyes prefer as our preferences might be different.

There's vendors with high markup so pricing can be all over the place. My HG stone's pricing was few thousand different depending on the vendor. Certain things may command a premium i.e if it was in a genuine antique setting and if the setting was a designer piece.

I think OP meant they are glad they can “see” a well cut stone. Not that they will see it in person. But agree it’s necessary.

I found one that looks pretty good
Ok it's NOT an elongated OMC. It's OEC but feels OMC ish.

I think she might be a good one? Well within budget so I could get a band too.

Original setting. N VS2
8.74x8.93x5.82
40% table
65.9% depth
Faint flor.
Does list chip feather indented natural and extra facet in imperfections gia

Thank you

This looks like a repro setting. Like Erstwhile or Single Stone. It’s pretty tho. Diamond is lovely and looks antique

I’ve seen Maven Lane market things I’ve been highly skeptical of - eg she was selling a poorly cut MRB as a transitional a few years back and I tried to engage in a convo about it but …I have no way of knowing for sure but the GIA report didn’t make sense from memory

I’d need to see more images but there are antiques with this type of make. They would have been cut much closer to the transition to MRB. I’d be very curious to see more images. But Circe has (had?) a stone cut like that.

Estimated I1 with no lab report = proceed with extreme caution.

I definitely agree. Thank you!!

I passed but thought it was pretty. She's asking $14.5k which doesn't seem bad.

I was hoping the 3.33 carat oval was still available but she sold it.

Price depends so much on the actual specs though…

Im definitely seeing that. I'm trying to figure it all out. Thank you for the help

UGH. I just missed a 2.5 carat one. It is I1 but looks eye clean and it was $9900 :eek2:
wasn't meant to be. NEXT. LOL. But here's a pic for fun.

Just make sure if you go down to SI2 or I1 that you will never want to resell as that can make it harder.

OK...this one is really close. price is ok $16k. It's slightly smaller than 9mm goal but it's ELONGATED....thoughts??
more importantly how does it compare to the 3.13 BY SAKO? I might still be able to get that one.

It’s promising. Will look a fair bit smaller than the sako stone. Would you have to buy the setting from sako to get that stone and is that ok with you?

yes I would have to design with sako I think I'm ok with it but I don't know him, just his reputation from this site. the stone itself is just under $20k which is a bit more than the new stone.

ON this new stone, I'm also afraid I will think it's too small [in my head is 9mm] but it's pretty right? And the gia certificate had our anniversary on it so it felt like a sign.
LOL.

I'm waiting to hear from TWO more sellers that have 3 ish carats. I am really bad at the patience stuff. one is Gilded Lane and I'm obsessed with her stuff.

You have to decide how inportant size is to you. The one you just posted faces fairly small, the width is less than my 1.89ct transitional cut. But OMCs are cut deep and face up small.

Search Sako on here to read others experiences and make sure the fit it right and the style of ring.

Will do. Thank you for the candor! appreciate you so much!

Just chiming in to see if you saw gilded lane's tease for a stone she has coming this weekend? No specs, but looked elongated.

I also thought that one looked amazing. I wonder how big it is?

yes I'm dying! she won't give details except it's >3ct. I'm getting pressured by others. Ugh.

Don't succumb to pressure. If you're not ready or the stone doesn't sing to you - then it's not right. There are plenty of other stones out there, you just have to be patient until it comes along. I mean - even since you started this thread, there have been quite a few contenders. Nothing worse than feeling like you HAVE to make a decision RIGHT NOW.

You have some good options there @TnTWalter

I guess it really comes down on how important size is for you. What's your finger size for reference? Also what setting are you leaning towards? This could help with the size a bit.
