A friend who would take his motorbike to go riding a certain distance away with one of his friends during the first lockdown as his once a day "exercise" has continued to do so during the second and third lockdown.

I have ignored his posts on FB, and may even snooze or unfollow him soon, as it makes me angry!

DK :roll2:

I would be tempted to report him, friend or not.

And riding a motorbike isn't exercise. That's the same as saying taking a drive in your car is exercise....

I am 99.9999% certain it won't happen, however, I would dearly love to see BJ publicly apologising for siding with DC for breaking lockdown restrictions during the first lockdown, and that he will not make the same mistake again regardless of who they are.

Let's put it this way, the said friend has always been one who lives by the rule of "catch me if you can".

I have distanced myself from him, along with another, as their attitudes do not gel well with me.

However, I am mindful that they come from different backgrounds and their occupations are considered as non-essential unlike mine. Hence lockdown and related restrictions affected them more financially and mentally.

I am one of those people! I had my first dose this morning! (NHS staff).

Good on you!

Although I am an essential worker working in pharma supply chain, I am not frontline (and hats off to those who are).

Based on 2M a week and 70% uptake, my age and with an underlying health condition, it is estimated I should receive my first dose in mid to late February 2021.

I am estimated to get my dose in October, but that may change should they decide to vaccinate teachers & school support staff sooner :appl:

2.3 million people in the UK have now been vaccinated as of tonight. Hopefully they can keep working at this pace.

I am so happy your country is on top of things!

My best friend just got his first vaccination today.
So pleased for him!

I hope you can get yours sooner. We too probably won't be eligible to get it til summer/autumn but I am hoping somehow the USA can get their act together and do better than we are currently doing.

There are talks about non-stop 24/7 vaccination at the large specially set up centres in larger cities/hot spots; needless to say, there are many moaners and groaners about such an initiative.

If it means having the vaccine sooner, then I am more than happy to accept an appointment in the middle of the night, as long as it is local and does not involve driving a long distance at night in icy conditions.

My mum in Vancouver will be 83 in less than a month with underlying health conditions, and she has yet to be invited to have the vaccine.

Mind you, she said she does not want it due to the side effects, and encouraged me not to be so gallant to have it right away when offered. Let the others have it first so as to provide better idea with regard to the side effects, etc. etc...

And I am qualified HCP since 1988, and worked in the pharma industry specialising in manufacturing, quality assurance and risk management for the past 20+ year! :roll2:

I had to bite my tongue as per usual to keep the peace! :roll2: Good job she lives in a different continent 8 time-zones away!

So I had a sore arm and felt a little bit fluey yesterday (the day after the vaccine), but no big deal - a couple of paracetamol and a lovely dinner provided by DH sorted me out. I feel absolutely fine today, if anything, better than usual. This of course is evidence of the 5G microchip implant turning me into a robot (and definitely has nothing to do with the fact that I got to put my feet up all day yesterday while DH ran around doing everything, oh no).

I can't imagine why anyone would object to 24hr vaccinations being offered. No one will be forced to go at 3am. Like any appointment, you will be able to choose to wait longer for your preferred time, or take an inconvenient time to get it sooner. Like, you know, supermarket deliveries, flights, haircuts...

Hope you will all get yours soon, it seems to be shifting into gear!

@MillieLou there are many who cannot work from home and in facilities that operate around the clock. I bet they would jump to the chances of being offered out of normal 9 to 5 slots!

Honestly, if they told me my appt for the vaccine was 3.20am, I’d happily get up in the night to go, and so would all my friends. We just want to get vaccinated as quickly as possible so we can get back our lives. I’m sick of seeing selfish morons flouting the restrictions which are keeping us all in lockdown longer.

BJ did not help with his cycling trip, and I am glad that the head of the Metropolitan Police indirectly ticked him off for it, as it makes life difficult for them.

Honestly @dk168 I wouldn‘t want to be him for all the money in the world. I don’t actually begrudge him his cycle ride, can you imagine having the weight of all this on your shoulders? I’d want to get out for a while and clear my head too.

Indeed, someone has to make the decisions, and whatever decisions he makes will never please everyone!

I too like to go out of the house to clear my head, good job I have a dog that needs to be walked!

Good news, as soon as it’s logistically possible, vaccinations will be carried out 24/7

I wish I still had my lovely girl, I really miss her and going out for long walks :(

My dog will be 14 in June 2021, and is not too keen to go out for long walks anymore.

When he was being walked by a dog walker pre-Covid, he would walk for miles or played with other dogs in the group, and would spend the rest of the day and the next day in bed to recover.

He is definitely showing his age, bless him!

At least 2 days  Perhaps we should move onto the Maldives after Paris, to recover? I'm sure @kipari would join us!

Not sure if my budget would stretch to the Maldives though!
