:appl: I've read myself blind on PS - so many wonderful threads on solitaire settings! But some of those threads are older and I figured you cutting edge design divas might have more current info. You PSers have helped me so much in the past with your generous advice and exquisite taste!!!

So I'm changing my monster halo to a sleek solitaire, mainly because we don't love it anymore. It's so over the top and I'm a mommy now who craves simpler things.

My top pics are:

Yingh's Vatche Swan with single row pave.
Plain Vatche Swan
Tiffany replica

Do you wise fashionistas have any other options? My dream setting would have flowy clean lines and make the diamond POP!
I don't mind a gap between the e-ring and the wedding band. DH thinks the Vatche Swan's surprise diamonds kind of look like alien eyes, but I told him it probably only looks that way when the pic is super magnified. Do you think that's the case?

I have considered MM's superb setting but would prefer to get something that can be sourced since Yekutiel is my go-to guy!!!

What would look best for a 2.7 RB, fabulous divas and gents? :cheeky: Help!

Hope the lovely ladies who own these phenomenal rings don't mind my posting them again here! Thank you!

Minmin, of course! Hehehehehe, but are you sure you're not swayed by the INSANELY gorgeous AQUA? And it's 10mm!!!!!

Yumm-O! I wish the pics had the same size stone because I feel like I'm often swayed by the size. I seem to gravitate towards the setting with the bigger stone... LOL!!! 10mm! In the words of Rachel Zoe, "I DIE!"

Bliss you have wonderful taste and any of these settings would do justice to your beautiful stone, but that first custom Swan with the pave is just simply breathtaking!!! To me it is understated elegance at its highest level.

my setting is kind similar with it and I love it  and my stone is only 1ct so i'm sure your gorgeous stone will look amazing in it!

Sundial of the Ginormous Bling and Rocks of Yore... THANK YOU! Are you, by any chance, swayed by the ginormous 10mm stone in the custom Vatche Swan with pave??? LOLOLOL! Sometimes I'm paranoid I like that one the best because of the insane rock in there!

Also... I COVET YOUR BLINGY BANGLE!     Among other things...

Only 1 ct? That is super beautiful and nice!!!! I covet my colleague's stone which is a blazing amazing 1 carat in a setting with delicate pave on the band. It totally beats my insane halo any day of the week. Looks so classy. Very Audrey Hepburn. My ring next to hers looks gauche! :rodent: Truly!

well I'm sure with your gorgeous stone and the beautiful setting, they will be a killer team

Bliss, this is so funny because I just changed my mind (again) from wanting the Julia from JBeG to the Vatche Swan!
I used to avoid 6-prong solitaires and ever since stumbling upon SandyCheek's Swan during a search, I fell in LOVE!!

THEN I saw the Swan with Pave and just about passed out!   :loopy:

Now I'm torn between the plain and pave version too!

Only thing holding me back from the pave version is potential loss of the melee. I have a big fear of that as it's something I do NOT want to deal with in my e-ring. So, I will probably get the plain Swan. :-)

However, the Swan pave looks soooo dreamy! And I would LOVE it!!!!

It seems you have had a pave setting before and love the extra bling (which, if I remember correctly, is why you changed the setting to the halo one), so I would go with the Swan pave.

And, btw, I am SO happy you are switching back to a solitaire. :appl: I have drooled over your *gorgeous* stone in its original solitaire!

Good point, because I wonder the same thing about me-- whether I love the Swan pave more because of that delicious stone!! *Droool!* My RB will certainly not look the same-- so I wonder. I haven't seen a RB in that version yet, so it's hard to visualize.

Either way, it's hard to imagine either version not being AMAZING for your stone!

Oh yeah, oh yeah, groan, the Swan with pave, truly truly elegant. The others are just beautiful, but that one makes my heart stop.

Im a vote for something plain to let that monster shine on it's own!

All you lovely ladies voting for #1 aren't doing so because of Yingh's AMAAAAAZINGLY MOUTHWATERING & HUGE AQUA, arrrrrrrreeeeee youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu?

To make things fair, I put a "beard" on her incredible stone! I now present the Custom Vatche Swan with pave... with our GOOD FRIEND LOPSY FUGS! This is her cousin from eBay, touted as a VVS1 but as we can see... Well, you can see. :naughty:

Yingh, forgive me for Vatche Swan Sacrilege!!! Your ring is divine!

Do you all stillllll looooove #1??? See, I think I'm biased as well by that INSANELY awesome stone! 10mm! Like the sea!

Minmin, thanks for the video! FAINT!!!!!! Ohhhh, I love your setting as well - anything with delicate pave on the band... SWOON!

*Twinkle*twinkle* - ME, TOO! I can't decide! I truly think you should get the pave if you love it. I'm sure it's made well and Yekutiel says Vatche makes sturdy rings, so I'm not worried about losing pave. Also, I won't get it all the way around - probably almost all the way around like I did with my halo. And I do NOT baby my rings!!! I have never lost a stone. I think it'll be OK, especially if there's a small area on the bottom that is just platinum. I'm thinking 8 o'clock to 4 o'clock pave?

JewelFreak - I know!!!! Are you sure it's not the magical aqua that's making us all go aflutter??? *flutter*

Ame, I love your set. So classic and clean looking. How is your Vatche RC? It's so beautiful. I'm sorry you're having issues with your band now and I hope the prong gets fixed soon, too.

SKIIIIIPPPPPPYYYYY!!!!! Twins twins twins!!!!! How are the angels? Your jewels are your boys! Ahhh, how sweet are they? I love everything you own, so your reaction to #1 also sways me!!! HUGS!

Thanks! I am not thrilled with the workmanship by Vatche on this RC but I love the look. Hopefully the prongs can be pushed down so they're touching before it snows here and I need gloves!

I hadn't seen that one. WHOA. It's gorgeous. Is that an old cut? I think I just passed out! Oh it's an Aqua-- whew. Bliss, I love the profile of it and profiles are really important to me. That's what I like about that one.

Still love the JBEG Julia though. And the Alessandra (4 prong) from Dimend Scassi

I'd say if you're going to go minimalist go all the way. I like #3.

The options are all beautiful. What does your wedding band look like? I think that would affect my choice regarding Ering.

:appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: I have loved the Swan since it came out and the pave version seems a little more "you" ;))

My other fave solitare settings (esp. for larger stones) are the JbEG Sophie, Mark Morrell Torchiere, BGD Grace, or something custom by Victor Canera.

Since you want Y to stay your go-to guy, I'd 100% go with the Swan pave!!!

I think the swan is very pretty, but my concern with that ring is that the base of the head is going to get worn if you wear a wedding band with it. I think the base sticks out more than many others. (I think you have a large eternity and I don't think you could wear it with this ring.)

I really like the elegance of the diamond solitaire with plain shank and the wedding band with diamonds. However, I have my eye on this Beverley K set and might change my mind!

I love the JBEG Sophie, too! Also the Vatche Caroline.

Hi Bliss! I LOVE sna77's wife's Superbcert Tiff replica! I voted for that one. It's just so classy and timeless.

However, I do love the Swan too. It's a close second.

I would not do a 4 prong setting with your huge rock. I think 4 prongs tend to square off a round stone.

I really like the Tiffany replica because it's classic and (I think) it sits lower.

Like others, the Swan is my close second choice. Even though you mentioned you don't mind it not sitting flush, the gap is pretty noticeable compared to other non-flush solitaires. I would try it out with your bands to make sure you like the look.
