@mrsgreeneyes, I know that lab gems can be posted in the pre-loved section, but I'm not sure about auctions. That would be a great option if it is allowed. I surely haven't been able to come up with a better suggestion than @elle_71125's!

I was just thinking something like a Facebook auction would work. Everyone just chiming in a bid until the clock runs out. This would just be minus FB. :D

My lab created Emerald by Jeff White, it's 3.35 ct. and 7.74 x 9.63 mm.

Hmmm, it did not show up well cropped, here is the pic Jeff sent to me next to my Imperial Topaz.

I consider my quest for an Emerald completed, even though it is a synthetic.

It’s freaking gorgeous!! What do you think of it in person?
ETA: just realized you may not have seen it in person yet. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and seeing many more pics of this beauty. Any setting plans yet?

Oooh...gorgeous! Stunning! I have no words creative enough to express the beauty of your emerald. Definitely the prettiest emerald I have seen even though it is synthetic. This turns me off of collecting natural emerald because the synthetic just looks so much more beautiful! Your emerald is just perfect!

Thanks for your kind words. :))
Here are the inspiration pics of the type of setting I have in mind, hence I opted for a chubby EC.

I would love a yellow lab sapphire. Any ideas where I can look?

I don’t know many places offhand so hopefull other people will chime in with more suggestions.

Better than diamond has some lab sapphires.

Looks like Chatham doesn’t sell online now (unless I’m missing something) but can be purchased online through retailers.
Chatham’s site: https://www.chatham.com/pages/yellow-sapphire-gems

A retailer I found just scrolling the web (so I can’t vouch for them): http://www.jewelryimpressions.com/loose-chatham-created-yellow-sapphire-stones.html

I've been emailing w. That vendor about the blue spinel. Trying to figure out if it will be this bright once cut. I'll keep you posted!
In the past they’ve had some flame fusion boules of “cobalt spinel” available at a much lower cost, fwiw. Would be interested how the colors compare side-by-side

Any reviews on the cut quality from BTD? I'm looking for a lab pink/purple sapphire, but the BTD photos are hard to see. ...

Here are pics they sent of some cut stones. Not as bright/neon as I was hoping for, TBH. But I think the cutting isn't ideal, so that makes things not look as good.

Its still quite blue! Though that oval has a heck of a window. Is this the Czochralski material?

I think so? This is what the vendor sent when I asked for pics of the Cobalt blue that was on sale as rough.

If the rought wasn’t so expensive for that tiny piece I might be tempted to inquire about availibility.

Oh! I had no idea! Thank you so much for this information as I also prefer synthetic gems, especially since they have refined their colours.

I just tried to contact betterthandiamond.com through their contact form, yesterday and today, but I get no response, not even the automated email they say you'll get after 3 minutes. I checked my junk mail folder. Anyone buy from them before?

Hi Maisie, I have never purchased from them, but there is a gem factory I used to pass as a kid on my way up north in a tiny town in Michigan. I just looked on their site and they say they made yellow sapphire and also sell loose stones. It looks like a very old school operation, in fact the pictures look exactly like I remember the place as a kid in the 70’s!

Here’s links and info if anyone is interested

Ordered a lab spinel and it's finished! Waiting for it to arrive. Not sure it's quite as neon as I hoped, but still beautiful!!

Those flashes of blue are TDF! Who cut this spinel for you?
