Hello all,
My first post! However, the information I've gathered from weeks of lurking has been greatly helpful.
We've narrowed our search down to a stone from a local jeweller. Unfortunately they aren't able to provide any aset or ideal scope images. Just looking for some constructive criticism, good or bad, before I pull the trigger.

The GIA specs:
Measurements: 6.30 x 5.72 x 3.91 mm
Carat Weight: 1.04 carat
Color Grade: H
Clarity Grade: VS2
Depth: 68.4 %
Table: 62 %
Girdle: Thin to Slightly Thick, Faceted
Culet: None
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Very Good
Fluorescence: None
Clarity Characteristics: Crystal, Feather, Cloud, Needle, Knot

Here's some videos with the diamond under different lighting.

Attached are some pictures and the facet pattern.

The knot and crystal are visible under 20x magnification. However the stone is eye clean under normal lighting.
Let me know what y'all think. Any comments are very appreciated.

Cheers!

I am not an expert so I can't comment on the information you provide for the stone. However, I would not purchase a stone if they are not willing to provide ASET or ideal scope images. Have you checked with any of our online vendors to see if you can get a better stone at a better price? Maybe some of the experts will chime in. I put my nephew in contact with Yekutiel at ID Jewelry and he was able to locate a beautiful cushion for him at a very fair price. You might consider giving him a call?

Good luck - I hope you find the perfect diamond. :wavey:

Thanks, Queenie60.
I have done tons of looking around online. I was originally set on a stone at Enchanted Diamonds. However, we came across a local jeweller that we really wanted to work with for creating a custom setting. We are getting a price that is very comparable to online, as well as the warranty and after-sales service that comes from buying the total package. I should mention, we are Canadian, so the exchange rate plays a factor on online prices. Also, I'm happy to support our local businesses.
This diamond and the one we found at Enchanted are very comparable in the specifications except where polish and symmetry are excellent and the clarity is VS1.

I can't tell you anything from those pictures. The facet plot is one that usually has a lot of poor performers though.

Gypsy, which facet plots provide the best performance in cushion cuts?

I would also strongly recommend an ASET for a cushion. If this isnt possible, then try to look at the stone in different lighting situations and see if you like how it performs, and not just in the store. Or use a different vendor who can provide an ASET. I would change the vendor and not just trust my eyes because cushions are tricky creatures and ASET is a great help.
