2.12 ct. AVR!!! Is it THE ONE???

That is one of the prettiest AVR's that I have seen! If I had it on my finger, I would keep it too!

bright ice, begonia, stargurl, and bianco (new name, I see!)...thanks so much! I am not sure how the 1.7 will be cut but I did mention to Jon that the consensus here favored this style!

Dreamer and GemFever...I was gone all afternoon and it is a little too late to get a decent picture as it is not so bright now. I will try tomorrow, though!

I did take the diamond with me on our trip today, and I enjoyed looking at it in the car since my husband drove! I still could not see color face up, but the tint of the car windows does make both diamonds take on a little tint from the sides. But outside, I can barely see any!

And I really think you won't see any color outside. I have an L as you know and I honestly seriously cannot see any color from it outside. It is so gorgeous and white and bright that I cannot believe it is an L. Inside it depends on the lighting/the wall colors/what I am wearing but most of the time it appears quite white. Even from the sides and face up well, it's just so white. So while you have to make sure this is the case for you and your gorgeous AVR too I bet it is! I cannot wait to see this beauty on your hand DS! (If that's what you decide is the right for you ofc!) So excited for you!!

I really believe you about the face up view! Truly, well cut stones face up really white! I am not worried about this color at all at this point. Wintotty has an AVR that is lower in color than this one, and it has to be beautiful if she accepted it after having a D AVC!

Speaking of seeing rings on hands...how about coming to Vegas, Missy???!!!! Please?!!!

Oh, yes, Wintotty has one gorgeous stone!!!!

And thanks DS-I would have loved to meet you and so many other PSers in person. I cannot make it this time but maybe next year!! And, if you are ever in my area all you have to do is let me know and we'll plan a fun time! And ofc that will include some jewelry ogling for sure...

I have a feeling if I sent my ring without me to the Vegas GTG most PSers would be satisfied hahaha! :D
And I think YT would be just the one to show it off! :cheeky:
(I just might not get it back though... ;)) JK!)

DS this diamond is so beautiful! I love the facet pattern, the size, color looks white. Can't wait to see what you decide. I think it's perfect.

DS, I love it!!! Its just a gorgeous stone and it looks FAB on you!!! Excited for you!! :appl: :appl: :appl:

Dancing Fire, Phoenix :wavey: , kathley (gorgeous OEC!!!), woofmama, and Dani...thank you all so much! I am excited that everyone likes it!

Missy...I will certainly let you know if I come to NYC...rather, make than WHEN I come to NYC! That would be so much fun! (and yeah, we might never see YT again if you sent her your ring to show in Vegas! )

Missy! I would toooootally give it bak to you! Just send it over and I PROMISE that I will take care of it. Girl Scott's honor. Cross my heart. And if all else fails and I get tempted... There's always insurance :) hee hee

I just wanna let you know that I was never a Girl Scout so.... That honor might not count. :)

I promise DS will be my chaperone. I'll just have to kidnap her too. It'll make the plan a little more complicated but I can make it work. Oooh, but wait... she has those Beaudry rings. Yup, I'm set :)

Hi DS, I thought I posted when you first made the thread but I went back through all the posts and I don't think I did. Could have been a dream. I've been doing that a lot lately. Or posting in the middle of the night when I'm half asleep and not remembering what I wrote :) haha

Anyway, I am reeealllly loving this OEC, I mean AVR. See what I mean! It's the perfect cut combination! The light performance of an AVR but the closest look of an OEC I have seen! You really gotta keep this stone DS! Plus, unlike Missy, you're coming to the GTG and getting kidnapped by me :) Just wanted to give you a heads up just in case you wanted to come prepared with magazines and water and food.

Thanks and I am glad you like the diamond!

Okay, a mostly cloudy day here so I just took a few indoor shots. I like looking at this diamond a lot!

Ohhh wow!!! All day away from home and came home to great pics!

Okay I love the center where you see the flower pattern ...DS High I color I don't think you are EVER going to match this stone. I will be so sad if you return it........By the way I have lived with my studs for two months now and yes they are earrings but the cut makes the stones look so awesome. You know that this stone is gorgous because of the cut...the clarity and color are GRavy....

Stop teasing us and set it already

Oh, these new pics seal the deal!!! TDF!!!!
Really amazing stone DS!! It looks so great on your hand too! I second heidi- stop teasing us and set it already!! :cheeky: :appl:

Really gorgeous stone and I'm so happy and thrilled for you that this might be The One! We might have to hire some bodyguards for you (handsome and strong ones of course :naughty: ) to protect you at the Vegas GTG. That YT has something up her sleeve! :cheeky:

 Yes, handsome and strong bodyguards would be a plus, Missy!

Thanks everyone! I agree about the cut, Heidi! It does make all the difference and I am glad you went with well cut stones for earrings, too! Thus far I cannot think of a reason not to go with this one. I love the size and don't think I'd be happy going down in size after having this one. So I'd say this one is pretty certain unless something totally unforeseen happens!

I see no reason to return this stone. It's super White. Excellent choice. I hope you'll keep it DS!

Sounds like a winner, then! Welcome to the 2ct club! ;))

Rosetta...thanks so much!!!

Mom2boys....that is a club I didn't expect to be in, but I am happy to be surprised!!! I don't know what took me so long because this stone doesn't look all that big. I might could go larger... :naughty:

Yummy table and crown. Super tiny table and moderate length lower halves = great optics.

WOW ... she's beautiful. I think she's a keeper!

I'd love to know your thoughts on the AVR v. MRB. Will you be keeping the MRB that I see in the shots?

Thanks!!!

Well, I can't keep the MRB if I go with a 2+ ct stone. Had I gone with an AVR under 2 cts, I condsidered the idea of keeping the 1.58 MRB to make into a 3 stone ring. But I already have some right hand rings and I am afraid it would be a waste anyway. Before seeing this stone in person, I was struggling with going with a larger MRB versus an AVR since there is a price premium for the specialty cut over a H&A stone. After seeing this stone, I am going to have to say that all things considered, I do love the AVR more. I still struggle a little about the price being higher than H&A stones, but I understand the reason as he has to start out with larger rough to cut these. He had to buy a 1.9 ct stone to recut to the 1.7, so it just costs more at the outset. And of course, it is a more rare diamond as well.

DS I'm entering the party late but still wanted to comment that this is actually the first AVR I have seen and loved! Normally they are not my cup of tea as I perfer the true OEC/ trannies etc and not modern recuts etc...but I really like this one. :cheeky: :appl: The faceting pattern really appeals to me. I haven't read through the entire thread so I have no idea if you love it or not, but I do hope you get the AVR of your dreams as you have been waiting far more patiently then I ever could! :appl:

And finally I do like the size on your finger. I think it looks perfect! Tell me you are keeping it!

Thanks so much for the rely! I recently upgraded my e-ring to an AVR but I'm already wanting bigger :naughty: as I think AVR's/OEC's need to be a little larger in order to fully appreciate the beauty of the cut! Whilst I love my AVR, I'm beginning to think I may have a little itch for a MRB (having never had one before!) and hence the interest in those going from MRB to OEC/AVR or OEC/AVR to MRB.

Hey, Sarah! I do think it is about perfect for me! I wish I could go even larger but I have to take baby steps! I just can't wait to see your rings and everyone else's in LV!!!

I guess I take comfort in knowing I have a great trade in policy with GOG because even if I now think this is my forever stone, I do not ever know what might come along to entice me! But the only temptation towards a mrb is the slightly lower price per carat. But I believe the AV/OEC is going to be my first love for my e-ring stone!!!
