2.12 ct. AVR!!! Is it THE ONE???

It is an absolutely beautiful stone, DS. Congratulations! We only live once and we should have stones that make our hearts sing while we're doing it!

My engagement ring is a very white I colour, well-cut HoF, and it shoots lovely warm fire and a rainbow of colours. I agree that you can see the facets better with a slightly warmer colour, and I also agree that the I colour suits the vintage cut. Crisp, higher colours do seem to be more suited to the flashy brilliance of the MRB, as you said. Although I have some D/E/F/ stones for pendants and earrings, I'm quite glad to have an I colour ring because I feel there is more to "watch", between the colours and the facets.

Again, congratulations! Are you going to name your diamond? My new earrings are entitled the Sussex Studs! Like The Queen. Her diamond and pearl earrings that she wears all the time are officially called the Ladies of Devonshire.

I hadn't thought about naming my stone since I always thing of those mega-stones being named! But I do love your royal name for your earrings!!!

I'm totally late to this party, but WOW. It is absolutely STUNNING! I have to echo everyone else-this is the best iteration of the AVR by far! And the size is perfection on you! It sounds like this is already a keeper for you, but add my vote to the "Yes" pile! I can't wait to see it set!

I thought yours WAS 2 cts!!!???? I know it is at least the diameter of this one so it looks this big or bigger with the setting! How did I get that confused???

I'll agree with Laila, yours and Dreamer's look like 2 cts to me! I was thinking they both were! So let's just count rounding to the nearest half carat!!!

I don't blame you! This project is really a radical departure from what you have now. Patience paid off in terms of finding the right diamond I hope similarly the right setting will suggest itself to you. I love the size of this diamond on your finger and don't diamonds look bigger when set?

I hope you are right!!! I want to do justice to the diamond (as Mike Robinson has said below in my tagline), but it is a hard decision since there are many nice choices. I am glad you like the size! It will take some getting used to as I was very opposed to wearing a stone this size for a loooong time! But I just like looking at these facets enough to overcome that fear!
