My engagement ring is a very white I colour, well-cut HoF, and it shoots lovely warm fire and a rainbow of colours. I agree that you can see the facets better with a slightly warmer colour, and I also agree that the I colour suits the vintage cut. Crisp, higher colours do seem to be more suited to the flashy brilliance of the MRB, as you said. Although I have some D/E/F/ stones for pendants and earrings, I'm quite glad to have an I colour ring because I feel there is more to "watch", between the colours and the facets.
Again, congratulations! Are you going to name your diamond? My new earrings are entitled the Sussex Studs! Like The Queen. Her diamond and pearl earrings that she wears all the time are officially called the Ladies of Devonshire.

I hadn't thought about naming my stone since I always thing of those mega-stones being named! But I do love your royal name for your earrings!!!
