Found some cool diamonds online a while back and posted them in the thread on Rocky Talky that features interesting stones.

I ended up buying something similar. It has wide, angular facets and some small splintery lines, with cropped corners. It is a cross between an emerald, a rose cut, and a radiant.

Wanted to post the finished ring here in case people are trying to find examples of a stone with this look. Also after posting the finished ring in RT, there was a request for more photos.

So by request… 1.05 ct K vs1 7x5mm in a generic size 6.5 white gold setting.
Backlit

Shadow

Fire

Sometimes the light reflects rainbows along the splintery parts. It also does darken in pinpoint lighting:

Daylight

It reflects color like a step cut.

It also shows its warmth although maybe a little less than other step cuts. The diamond band in the photo below has D color diamonds for comparison.
I normally dislike warm stones in white metal settings but this stone has so much fire that I did not want yellow gold to affect the color of internal rainbows. One of the cool features is that when tilted at certain angles, there is a big triangle facet that flashes broad fire.

One thing to notice is that it could be possible to see the line of a band from some angles when set. Also from some angles the broad table can reflect one white rectangle.

I tend to max out size at 6mm but think that 7x5 looks nice on a 6.5 finger.

I learned from RT that there was a cut called Spring Cut. One post said they were TM. The jeweler who set mine said there was no inscription and the GIA certificate does not say Spring Cut so there is no claim that mine is a Spring Cut.
But there are posts asking where to find similar stones so maybe my thread will help people see examples of something with this look.

Whiteflash and the SPRING CUT
We have great pleasure in introducing the absolutely new and unique Spring Cut ™ diamond. Once we saw them for the first time we fell in love with them! They are exceptionally bright and fiery for fancy shaped diamonds. I know there has been alot of buzz about the product, so here's all the...

Spring cut down under
I have just recieved some sets of Spring Cuts for 3 stone rings and sold one set to the first client who say them. They could not make up their mind between princess cut and emerald cut - so the spring cut was a perfect compromise. Although compromise is not a term that I would use - these...

3 Stone Spring Cut
This is a relatively new cut and is the first time I have sold it. There are some other similar cuts like the Criss Cut, but this one was developed with the aid of the Ideal-Scope - so I had to try some :) Apologies for this is a photo from our appraisal program which uses 6 year old digital...

Where to buy spring cut diamonds
Hi everyone, I''m sorry to post this question again (last time I put it on the back of an old thread) but thought it would be better to post in on a new thread. I''ve searched this site but the only name is Whiteflash, but after calling them they said they no longer stock them cause of...
