Found some cool diamonds online a while back and posted them in the thread on Rocky Talky that features interesting stones.

I ended up buying something similar. It has wide, angular facets and some small splintery lines, with cropped corners. It is a cross between an emerald, a rose cut, and a radiant.

Wanted to post the finished ring here in case people are trying to find examples of a stone with this look. Also after posting the finished ring in RT, there was a request for more photos.

So by request… 1.05 ct K vs1 7x5mm in a generic size 6.5 white gold setting.

Sometimes the light reflects rainbows along the splintery parts. It also does darken in pinpoint lighting:

It reflects color like a step cut.

It also shows its warmth although maybe a little less than other step cuts. The diamond band in the photo below has D color diamonds for comparison.

I normally dislike warm stones in white metal settings but this stone has so much fire that I did not want yellow gold to affect the color of internal rainbows. One of the cool features is that when tilted at certain angles, there is a big triangle facet that flashes broad fire.

One thing to notice is that it could be possible to see the line of a band from some angles when set. Also from some angles the broad table can reflect one white rectangle.

I tend to max out size at 6mm but think that 7x5 looks nice on a 6.5 finger.

I learned from RT that there was a cut called Spring Cut. One post said they were TM. The jeweler who set mine said there was no inscription and the GIA certificate does not say Spring Cut so there is no claim that mine is a Spring Cut.

But there are posts asking where to find similar stones so maybe my thread will help people see examples of something with this look.

Thanks for looking!

You found a fabulous diamond and the perfect setting. This is beautiful! I predict a wave of posters trying to find one like this.

That's neat, I see more of an Ashoka cut with clipped corners.

I love the stone and the ring you made. It has nice presence and the facet pattern is distinctive and really draws the eye. The stone reminds me a little of my tycoon cut except for the clipped corners.

This is so cool & so pretty!
