Your Latest Jewelry Purchases/Things You're Considering....

@seaurchin I’m coming in late to your project - how many CTWs is the halo? The reason why I ask is that I went down a similar journey where I had a great semi mount with beautiful diamonds I picked up for a song. I tried fitting a stone into it, and eventually gave up. I went to DK to harvest the stones and because I was providing the halo stones, it basically ended up being a free original setting (ie I got about a 50% discount vs having him source the diamonds). I still had to obviously pay for the new halo but I am so, so so SO happy with the results. It was worth the $$$ to have him do it custom for just the right stone. I ended up buying another cheapy sapphire and he did the rest (I say cheapy but it was a $1500 2.4 ct mystery meat sapphire I loved and sent to GIA; Madagascar, 2.4cts and then I sold that semi mount for $400). Overall I still probably saved $3.5k. I know you may not want to hear that but just something to consider. IMG_4397.jpegIMG_7222.jpeg

Pretty!

I'm not sure how many carats are in my halo but a good percentage of the gems I've tried do fit the setting.

I sent all the zircons back. None of them were quite right in color. This is a lower budget project so I'm also happy to consider lab stones. I have a lab emerald coming today. :)

Absolutely stunning. I do not know what CvB means, but that is a beautiful ring.

It's the designer, Caysie van Bebber's Initials, and part of her shops name, CvB Inspired Design.

This is my tenth anniversary band. Not "fancy" but I really like it!

Oh my gosh our tastes are so similar. I was just thinking this today that I wanted something like this for my tenth anniversary (which is a few years away) lol. Love it!

Just beautiful! I love her designs.

Believe it or not, I also don’t know what “antique OEC” means. But that is a spectacular ring.

OEC = old european cut
OMC = old mine cut

These are antique (cut over 100 years ago).

Thank you, maryjane04. But I don’t even know what you mean. Antique cut what? Is that referring to the type of stone that is in that beautiful ring? If so, what is that stone called?

These are diamonds. The old european cut is the precursor to the modern round brilliant cut and the old mine cut is the precursor to the cushion cuts.

This is my new lavender jadeite ring with rubies, rubellite, diamonds, set in 18K gold with blackened rhodium. The jadeite is just over 20mm in diameter.
To me, it is a work of art, rich in symbolism. The circular “bi” represents safety and eternity. The sugarloaf in the centre adds a square, and hints
at Chinese coins, which were circles with square hole in the centre. Around the circumference are two swallows and four Chinese words “一生相守“ (protect each other for la lifetime).

in daylight.

Thanks for appreciating and asking, @oncrutchesrightnow :mrgreen2:
I have worn it to lunch, tea, and gatherings with friends. I am also going to wear it to a dinner this Saturday. My friends agree it looks edible, like a cake with violet frosting and berry on top. I love jewellery that looks edible :appl:

Thank you everyone. It's breathtaking in person, pictures can't do justice. I did a photo shoot yesterday and will try to take some better ones for a full SMTB soon. I wasn't sure there would be interest since this is one of her stock designs that we've all seen before.

It is beautiful and definitely deserves its own thread in SMTB!!

OMG, stunning!!

I am getting DSS. No, I have DSS. This 1.7 emerald cut L just disappears on the finger. Not the best stone (si2) with a bunch of crystals, but particularly windowed at the outer edge. I can't upgrade, so will need to reset it. This is a strong blue to boot, and I sort of love that.

Please give me your thoughts on this setting at Ritani. I always thought it was pretty. I would set in platinum. I think it would visually strengthen the outside edge of the stone and get me my real estate boost.
